True story:
Last night when CS:GO servers we’re down and I was very bored I started cs 1.6 to play some HNS. I was alone on the server (I think the time was like 4:30 in the morning) and suddenly someone joins the server. He was veeeery good at it and wanted to teach me to play better. I was trying to do some Long jumps and he told me that my FPS was too low (the server had a command that shows every player FPS , I was shocked to see that on my gaming pc which can handle gta5 on ultra). Then he tried to make my game run better by saying that I should lower the resolution to 400x600 as he has. We tried some things but never worked, and then I asked him if he plays cs go hns and he said that his pc is very slow and he also has windows XP.. I was kinda shocked to hear that some people still use windows xp and can’t handle some basic games. He continued to show me his skills and he was very good at it and after a while he invited me to play on one of his servers or something like that but I think that the server blocked the server IP and it never showed up.. He left after he said that maybe thinking that I would join his Server.. Man I know maybe it doesn’t sounds like that much of a thing, but seeing that guy being so nice and so good at the game and even playing it on lowest options possible made me very sad.. So yes, some people still play cs 1.6!

It still happens, I have a regular 1.6 server I play on.
I still do. Casual servers in CSGO are more than fine. There are TONS of people who want to play old school CS style which is no ranks, just having fun spending time together, yet skilled. I played more on one CS casual server than MMs overall. People think that casual servers are for noobs etc. the truth is that those servers have rules like in cs 1.6 and they have good players if you find that kind of server. Low players join skilled server and leave after one game, never come back. But we have like 20 people playing regularly and it's real CS instead of shitty MM system.

You can play unlimited mixes as you like, you don't need MM for that, there are lots of people willing to play this way. And it doesn't really matter 5v5, 6v6, 7v7, 8v8 if you play for fun. More players just make it more dynamic.

I believe it's kind of a popular stereotype that if you are from the Balkan you play a lot of CS 1.6 and GTA San Andreas because not only is it true, most people who are a bit older than me (They finished high school and are out of the country to work) used to play these games back in 2004 or so and that could be how the stereotype formed.
i remember playing 1.5, and then 1.6 came out it seemed so good. The deagle back then was 10x what it is today

Yes cs 1.6 is not a dead game but its not played in the us that much. I live in Serbia and bassicaly this is the first game that you play. I dont know why but we like to play older versions of games like gta san andreas instead of gta 5 and older nees for speed games...
It has to do with the availability of computers powerful enough to play modern games. Computers are expensive, and for a lot of people in the world, their computers can only run games like 1.6 Even if you are fortunate enough to afford a great computer, if you're in a region where a lot of people don't have them, you'll still have very few people to play with. This is why the vast majority of 1.6 servers that I can access here are from Central and South America, not the US or Canada.

My childhood is back in 1.3 version when you can press "E" to stands still to shoot more accurately . I think they remove that on 1.6 and cs go

There are some Channels I watch where i don't like to watch 10min or longer vids, where I prefer like 4-5min videos. But honestly: even after your longest videos i'm allways sad that it's already over. Thank you! This is great to read, because I put a lot of extra time and care into my editing to make the video engaging to watch throughout, instead of having dull filler sections. This video was originally 30 minutes long before I did my scorched earth editing phase (I put together a large video, then go back and PURGE everything that isn't 100% necessary to the purpose of the video)

A Bug same
People think that improving the resolution makes the game look better. But that's not a general rule. At 640x480 or so you would not notice the polygons on player models, walls that are painted to have 3D depth (e.g. Bricks) would look more convincing and less atomically flat. Textures would look less blurry, because you couldn't resolve them as well at the low resolution. Cranking up the resolution on an ancient game reveals all these flaws. It also doesn't help that he's playing custom maps with awful lighting.

"Counter Strike" is my childhood, too! Sometimes, I watched my cousin play it when I was in Europe! Some of the servers are new to me!
I enjoy playing it and downloaded some editions! I came up with some "Yo Mama" jokes about "Counter Strike"! I liked the music in the background!

WarOwl, a man under the alias "ZooL Smith" has created a mod (Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive) that allaws you to play an uncut 1.6 with superior graphics. Same weapons/sounds/voice actors, but better. It's pretty much what CSGO should have been. (Download on MODDB, setup is uber easy.)
He also has a youtube channel of the same name.

@@victorleonardo9676 Inaccurate firing? I don't agree. It's just that the recoil is way easier to handle in CS GO - they dumbed it down a bit to make the game more approachable. They just lowered the skill floor.
If someone knew how to handle the weapons, they were just as accurate.

I FIXED IT! I figured it was a problem with the metadata, so I forced TH-cam to render it again by going into 'enhancements' and setting the 'saturation' to +1.

I love how giving out the server files allows old games like this to thrive long after a company would shut down official servers. I still refuse to buy any multiplayer game which doesn't let me run my own server
Global Offensive also let you host your own servers, it's a Valve thing I guess.

I agree with you WarOwl. Pressing just one button and ending up on a server with people you probably won't see again feels kinda dull and insolated. I found so many friends in CS:S, because everyone would keep returning to the same servers. Been playing CS:GO now for more than a month and so far I didn't even had once a conversation with anyone, yet alone added someone to my friendlist, because you just end up on a random, nameless server. The fact that at least half of the people always leave after each map doesn't help either.
