@@altf4-games There are ways to play at 128 tick tho 🤔 But I agree. If Valve suddenly decides to improve/change the matchmaking experience like the ranks and such, I think it will definitely bring back and/or invite more players.
ShadowBeast We don't have 128tick matchmaking because the majority of the people that play csgo cannot achieve over a steady 128fps valve said themselves
The issue with CS:GO is that its by far the hardest game to return to, because you'll always feel very inadequate until you can do what you once did. This is also inherently the problem as your now older haha. LoL you can easily return too, Dota 2 not very easy but still dota is about understanding more then reflex, Overwatch well its overwatch mute team have fun, etc. CS:GO is just so fundamentally linked to your aim and therefore very hard to return to. Once you quit well, thats most probably it.
personally, its the updates that come in to CS:GO while im gone, entire map remakes, new spray patterns, nerfs and buffs to guns?? i still enjoy watching the competitive scene but i couldnt get into playing it anymore
To be honest with you, I haven't played csgo normally for well over a year and decided to just return and it went just fine, and now I am having way more fun than I did before quitting cs.
I absolutely loved the bar regular feel of classic community Counter-Strike, especially growing up when there were no other places quite like that. You perfectly captured the feeling with that metaphor. You should host or sponsor a regular CSGO community server party. Like a new holiday! A Counter-Strike holiday. The one day a year where we all come together to play all the classic fun game modes. There could even be drinking/smoking games. (Take a drink every time someone gets knifed, sans knife maps, etc.) Call it the fy_festival or cs_carnival or some such. (We have the Carnival of Death once a year in Tetris.) PLZ MAKE IT SO
Streets of Rage II music? Gets me every time! My hands are shakin'! My hands are shakin'!! I'd definitely like to see a new CS based on Source 2 that's actually optimized for newer hardware, resolutions, etc. At this stage of the game, 128 tick servers are a no brainer as even older hardware is good enough to run CS:GO well enough that there's no clear advantage due to "double" the data.
I don't think CS:GO is a *dead* game, but I think it is on the decline. Like you mentioned previously, the casual player base did drop like a rock, but I believe that the pro-scene is still going strong. If you go on faceit or ESEA, both of those third party hosts are doing great because of the number of players that still play CS:GO. However, if you do CS:GO regular old matchmaking, it's terrible unless you're in a five-man queue with a bunch of other people that don't really care about winning. I don't think CS:GO will die any time soon but like most great things. It will come to an end, at some point. If Valve put a little bit more heart and soul into the game I think that they could bring the player count up a bit. Obviously won't be like when the game first began to get popular, but I think Valve knows that. Personally, I have been playing CS:GO since the release and I have seen the ups and downs and the majority of the people I became friends with on CS:GO four or five years ago don't play any more. I haven't played in a couple months either and I don't plan on playing any time soon. I still enjoy watching your content and watching the pro scene, but I'm not as enthused about CS:GO as I once was. EDIT: In my experience, I have always played with sore losers, tryhards, toxic assholes whenever I don't have a five-man, that's why I don't like matchmaking.
I agree with your statement You see,the casual player base can drop any time when it wants,it is an number that Valve depends on.Simply, the more the better. But Valve has to take *VERY* *CAREFUL* steps in managing the game and the player number. If they release 1 Bad update It could hit them hard.So that's why I think that they don't update the game as much as they do right now. Also,we all suffer from bad players, hackers, toxic people, throwers and all kinds of other crap. But it's not the fault of the system, but rather the players. You cant pick your teamates (if you soloQ),so if you do soloQ you have to rely on luck,so you dont get assholes on your team. Also I have highest respect for you,for sticking around so long in the community and the game.Thank you for reading.Have a nice day! English is not my first language
Kyle The Creator I have watched CS:GO videos and tutorials for the past 3 years and never got the chance to play it. I have played a lot of CS 1.6 and even more CS:Source but never CS:GO (I am a very good player though). Yesterday, I got the chance to play the game at my friends birthday. I felt like I was in heaven...It was a dream-come-true to me. I even entered into a competative game (my friend's rank is silver elite) and played so damn well. I enjoyed every moment but the thing is the players are much more angry and mean (and pretty awful too) in there. I can't wait to buy my new PC soon and buy the game. See how to someone CS:GO is a dead, old, boring game but to some people like me it's an adventure ready to come...
It's not on a decline. It's on a cleanse. The casual player base didn't leave, the gamblers did. We've now seen another 2 months of growth again in the player base. It will sit around 400-500k for quite some time again. Fantastic numbers for a 6 year old skill based game to sit at 3rd on Steam.
Hindsight is 20/20, but it returned in popularity again, although it dropped due to CS2 but will likely rise again soon when Valve fix the problems, adds back the casual game modes and releases new content (which is easier on the new engine). I’m optimistic
You just opened my eyes, a lot of big games originated from a lot of modding. For example; PUBG, was a mod for arma 2 and 3, League and Dota 2, came from Warcraft, ect.
This video just makes me want to play in NA. As European, game is just really bad unless you are playing 5 man. Toxicity, language barriers, bad callouts and shitty strats. Unfortunately MM in EU all the way from Nova to LE is full of aimstars with terrible gamesense and terrible microphones. No, but seriously as LE (former Global), if i smurf on MG, i get one tapped by running deagles every game while my teammates are buying p90's and aiming at leg level. If I play MM on my main, it's HvH, yes even on prime. If I play faceit or esea, teammates are always toxic and enemies insane aimers. It repeats every game. This video really shows that CS is still alive and CAN be good, but only in certain regions.
In my experience (I’m in NA), it doesn’t matter whether you’re in NA or EU. NA has the same exact problems that you mentioned except for the language barriers. I came to the conclusion that if you take the game seriously, and you want to be good in competitive and have good games, you gotta have good friends around your level to queue with. Soloing doesn’t work well anywhere.
@@Aleph1337 personally i always hated soloqueueing and havent soloqueued in mm since prime came out, however csgo forces you to sq, because cheaters do 3-5 man queues, so if I queue with more than 1 friend, I can't get cheater in my team which causes me to lose. Sad times.
WarOwl is having a fun experience because he has a different mentality then you. Due to negative reinforcement you have come to only remember the bad experiences making you toxic and salty af which in turns tilts your teammates making them toxic back. If you as a player inject positive vibes into the team comms you'll notice your experience is going to be a lot more fun and you'll start winning more aswell. I've close to 5k hours (global/lvl8) and I live in East Europe so don't tell me I don't know bcs of my location. It's rlly up to you if u want to start enjoying this game more or not
i think the reason why people are saying its a dead game is because the majority of people on steam have played cs with their friends when it came out, and after years of playing it and lack of updates, the game got stale and people grew bored of it and moved on. (these are just my thoughts as to why so many people think csgo is dying)
Interesting timing with this video. I haven't played CS in a long while but just hopped in my first game in a while the other day and it was a really fun experience. Keep it up man.
I don't have anything against kids that didn't go throught puberty yet, i just don't like them when they are jerks, and scream into mic for no reason at all, don't judge the book by it's cover, i've seen many kids both IRL, and in Counter-Strike, being smarter and more mature than some adults.
Bro that was the best video I’ve seen from you in a long time! You seem like you’re having fun again. Thanks for showing me the community servers. I’ve never tried them and now can’t wait to check them out!
All Valve had to do was invest back into their game with all the money they made with the skin market... if they had 128 tick servers, left gun sounds alone, and kept half time voice comms... man the game would literally be a blast loool
they probably would go bankrupt if they had to upgrade servers to 128 tick, the reason faceit and esea can do it is because they only have 2000 people playing at a time. csgo has 200,000 all around the world. Also there are many different sections in Valve dedicated to creating different features in the game. one section would do gun sounds, another panorama etc. they also need to account for new games coming out and people joining and leaving, after any game stays the same for years people will stop playing.
All they needed to get was a great anti cheat , and that is surely within the budget of valve . Not even worth a swewt for GabeN . But nah , people are dumb so they will play anyway , rest will go to 3rd party ones .
Holy crap. I was on that b hop server u got on. With the guy the kept shooting you. I was the other guy that was making spitting noises and the Russian accent too. That's wild

I don't play CS as much as I used to but it will always remain close to me, the first game I ever played and now gaming is my primary hobby, it's kind of nostalgic.
i am so sad about the dead casual servers like wtf happened to toronto darkly or east coast guardians, I loved spending my weekends playing with everyone on those giant servers having fun and all the unique crazy maps we'd try out together
Look... I love CS:GO, but all of you in the comments acting like the CS:GO community is this pure and mature adult community with no trolls, douche-bags, and general griefers are just not being honest. Any community has its share of all types and ages of people. A game is a game and can be looked at objectively beyond a perceived community.
I downloaded csgo after about 2 years of not playing it. Hopped into a match with at least 3 white teens throwing out the n word, shrieking autism, etc. I went 2.40, then uninstalled. Counter strike players are cartoonishly immature.
That in my opinion is part of what makes it so great. All the saltiness, all the trolling, and if you take it with a tongue in cheek attitude, you may find the game is more fun that way.
I don't. Hate %90 of the changes they've made since the rank update years ago. The new UI is freaking ugly and useless. All unnecessary changes nobody wants and don't add anything meaningful to the game.
RikkiTikkiTavi ikr. They should come up with an anti-cheat software or else cs go is a worthless game unless you are in is for casual play only. VAC has and always will suck because it is not invasive enough to do it’s job!
.:Camper:. Cs go was made for former COD players lol. No skill needed. GE was too easy until the cheaters took over. Funny how people can’t take a loss
@@Sm00thieK So you're telling that a game has to be realistic to be good? CS:GO never wanted to be realistic in the first place, it just wants to be...CS.
CSGO died for myself after they broke/changed the UI. This new UI is so disfunctional compared to the old one... The map pools are also way too small nowadays...
@@tijshaanappel7882 Cringe all you want. I'm perhaps too old for CSGO as I'm sure that this new UI will definitely please the younger audience with it's transparent blurred flashy elements. I like minimalistic, clean, functional design as was the old UI. The OG CSGO also had much larger selection of maps which are gone now. You happy?
Panorama has only been out for like 2 months, why are you complaining. It's in beta and valve will optimize it more over time, it was much needed. The end product in like a year or two will most likely look nothing like what we have now. About your map issue, most of the maps are still there. It's just the hostage maps that get removed since nobody really plays them and they only get used by people that want to HvH which doesn't do anything good.
i could totally see custom game videos taking off. it shows that a growing portion of gamers play more for the entire "game" experience, as opposed to focusing solely on being hyper competitive. as an example, i havent played a match of vanilla dota 2 since 2012 but i play custom games on there every day because the people on pubs are either toxic or braindead. ive made actual friends dropping in the same server night after night. we know valve listens to you so if you start getting good reception on custom content videos theyll probably consider supporting them better on all Steam games. keep it up, proud of ya :3
I assure you 1/3 of those players are Europeans/kids that probably don't even know proper english or are just constantly begging for skins and play CS because they can't run something else. Take this comment section as an example. (:
I recently returned to cs:go after a year and a half of not playing. I was an MG2 and now I'm a silver 4. It is soul crushing but tbh I relish in the challenge. Getting good again is such a test of concentration and will. I'm happy that I'm playing again.
WarOwl needs to put out more content like this. Not road to global, where he hates every minute of filming and editing, but he needs this. Watching him genuinely have fun was the most fun I've had watching WarOwl in a while. I know his fans expect him to play csgo, but he needs to just have fun with whatever he plays. I know I enjoy it more, and I also know that I'm not the only one who does.
5:45 I have very good memories of joining the exact same servers all the time on 1.6 as a kid and playing with the same people. I didn't know custom servers were still pretty alive in csgo
I might stop playing csgo. I've lost my touch. I went from being a solid LE to playing like a silver 1 after playing other games with my friends and forgetting about CS. When I tried getting back into it, my aim was so bad. My spray was garbage. My taps were off. I don't know if I can get back into it.. 😭💔❣

He does not upload road to global regularly or his upload schedule is not proper he is lazy he saw this coming
TF2: pls dont forget me
2075: *people still play*
The absurd, random, Chompy and his lawyer dad bit was just hilarious. And the kid who asked you both to speak at the same time is going places.
We have been over this, this game ain’t dying
Number two game on Steam...dead game?
Envy YounGBlooD It's a series, tf2 has a video for it too and same thing, not even close to dead but lower player counts.
What is dead may never die.
Never felt it that way.
I always come back to it so I don't get rusty.
2160p yea I don’t really have fun playing anymore like i once did but i still love watching professional cs

(We have the Carnival of Death once a year in Tetris.)
PLZ MAKE IT SO
going to a hvh server without cheats is like cheating in competative
It was a lot of fun for us to watch, too! You are good at trolling people, so please Chompy bring us more of this content!
I agree with your statement
You see,the casual player base can drop any time when it wants,it is an number that Valve depends on.Simply, the more the better.
ArchieZeroOne I like that, it’s on a “cleanse”, not a decline.
Hindsight is 20/20, but it returned in popularity again, although it dropped due to CS2 but will likely rise again soon when Valve fix the problems, adds back the casual game modes and releases new content (which is easier on the new engine). I’m optimistic

1:09 That's not how it works guys...
Riot Games: *Allow me to introduce myself*
My grandfather used to play this game...
You know, WarOwl, I havent played csgo for ages and I dont like playing it anymore either but I still enjoy watching your vids! Keep up the good work!
Sad times.
Even CS 1.6 still have their community servers in some regions
Lol, toxic players will be wherever you are, specially in america (north or south).
It's rlly up to you if u want to start enjoying this game more or not
3:15 you should've gone with a noteblock
i think the reason why people are saying its a dead game is because the majority of people on steam have played cs with their friends when it came out, and after years of playing it and lack of updates, the game got stale and people grew bored of it and moved on. (these are just my thoughts as to why so many people think csgo is dying)
the logic of these people are "i dont play it anymore, so it must be objectively dead."
I really enjoyed this one. Keep up the great work! It's nice to see you chill and having fun.
Interesting timing with this video. I haven't played CS in a long while but just hopped in my first game in a while the other day and it was a really fun experience. Keep it up man.

Hi, Vsauce michael here.
Oh they're still here
My voice chat has never been more muted

muted by all teammates
They are also gone from tf2 yay i dont count cuz i use a voice changer to make me sound mature in tf2
I don't have anything against kids that didn't go throught puberty yet, i just don't like them when they are jerks, and scream into mic for no reason at all, don't judge the book by it's cover, i've seen many kids both IRL, and in Counter-Strike, being smarter and more mature than some adults.
I genuinely enjoyed you just going around checking out the community. This should be a reoccurring thing on your channel in my opinion. I'd love that!

Not dead, just brimmed with cheaters.
You should definitely make another one. This is one of your best videos.
This obviously was fun and also definitely fun to watch. You should do more of these.
Bring back old intro sound and voice line !
Music from streets of rage lol
Holy crap. I was on that b hop server u got on. With the guy the kept shooting you. I was the other guy that was making spitting noises and the Russian accent too. That's wild
Sure...
Definitely not the guy making the spitting noises because that was me
noah kane Don’t know if it was you but I know the kid spitting irl his name is rexy and he is a mod on uninspired gaming. I was also there just he didn’t show me talking.
I don't play CS as much as I used to but it will always remain close to me, the first game I ever played and now gaming is my primary hobby, it's kind of nostalgic.
Was just wondering, uploaded at right time!
I always click thumbs up before the video even starts 👌❤️❤️❤️👍

It's not often that a video makes me smile for 10 minutes straight, but this one sure did :-)
i am so sad about the dead casual servers like wtf happened to toronto darkly or east coast guardians, I loved spending my weekends playing with everyone on those giant servers having fun and all the unique crazy maps we'd try out together
3:09 can you actually get viruses from joining a server?
Look... I love CS:GO, but all of you in the comments acting like the CS:GO community is this pure and mature adult community with no trolls, douche-bags, and general griefers are just not being honest. Any community has its share of all types and ages of people. A game is a game and can be looked at objectively beyond a perceived community.
CS:GO's community is anything but mature and has the most amount of douchebags I've ever seen in a video game.
CS:GO is a virgin's paradise.
Make Counter Strike Online 2
It´s dead.
WarOwl, this style of video was really fun to watch actually...
Please make another one of these screwing around in servers videos. I’m quarantined right now and this was a fun way to get me back into CS:GO
this game will not die
I don't. Hate %90 of the changes they've made since the rank update years ago. The new UI is freaking ugly and useless. All unnecessary changes nobody wants and don't add anything meaningful to the game.
That's a pretty broad generalization that many people would disagree with, including myself.
It's not ugly and defenitely not useless, Panorama has drastically improved game performance and gives access to more features for the future.
Oh no.
I cringe so hard
It's just the hostage maps that get removed since nobody really plays them and they only get used by people that want to HvH which doesn't do anything good.
im a kid and i disagree. I WISH I COULD HAVE EXPERIENCED THE OLD UI WHY GABEN.............
i could totally see custom game videos taking off. it shows that a growing portion of gamers play more for the entire "game" experience, as opposed to focusing solely on being hyper competitive. as an example, i havent played a match of vanilla dota 2 since 2012 but i play custom games on there every day because the people on pubs are either toxic or braindead. ive made actual friends dropping in the same server night after night. we know valve listens to you so if you start getting good reception on custom content videos theyll probably consider supporting them better on all Steam games.
keep it up, proud of ya :3
I love the new outro. It feels soothing after watching a warowl video. Perfect

WarOwl is like a marvel movie.
The post-credit scene is the best part.
I could watch you play retake servers all day.
This was one of my favorite Warowl videos, make more like this
WarOwl needs to put out more content like this. Not road to global, where he hates every minute of filming and editing, but he needs this. Watching him genuinely have fun was the most fun I've had watching WarOwl in a while. I know his fans expect him to play csgo, but he needs to just have fun with whatever he plays. I know I enjoy it more, and I also know that I'm not the only one who does.
great video man! love the community aspect of the video
That street of rage music tho!!!

5:45 I have very good memories of joining the exact same servers all the time on 1.6 as a kid and playing with the same people. I didn't know custom servers were still pretty alive in csgo
Never play CS GO anymore but still watch E-Sports matches and WarOwl vids from CS GO
I truly miss pub servers being a thing and still having a 16 v 16 competitive style match. There must be a community that still wants that
That streets of rage music in the intro got me.
