As the water levels rise, houses on stilts will become more and more popular. Both of the models portrayed looked very nice and comfortable. From the exterior, these homes do not have pre-fab look. They look like a site built home, but stronger. Thanks again.
😮, nice and also good to know that it can be raised to avoid storm surging, although your vehicle will be drowning. Thanks again👍🏻. Shivering black bell thumbs up 😎.
Love the hurricane strenth and location since I live in FL. I will look into the contact for my area. It's very expensive to have home insurance here, so many people don't have any insurance.
Good to see you mixing it up with some Beast Coast options Kerry! I love the salt box homes of the south, and these are lookers…. It’s great that they’re pre-engineered, but remember that every site is different… and soil conditions and everything else is unique for wherever you live… So, you have a head start here, but you’ll still need engineering & geotech. For example, I see”soft story” all over the ones on piers… So, you’ll want to see if that’s an issue in your region. Cross bracing & moment frames might be in order.
These homes definitely have a southern American vibe to them. The king fisher looks like it should come with porch rocking chairs and a harmonica. 😁 Great homes nonetheless. With all of your food analogies, I always come away hungry after watching your videos. 🤤 But of course I love your videos. Keep them coming. Rock on Kerry. 😎
Hey Kerry ... I know this is a few weeks old, but this home is a fantastic idea for people on the east coast who suffer from floods and hurricanes. These elevated homes are much needed. Now what they need to make are elevated garages with a ramp to keep the car safe!
Now this design is more up my alley! I hope they also have some that are on the ground floor or have a ramp instead of steps if it is up high for those of us with mobility problems. A security fence in the back yard would also be nice for a dog to be secured.
They would give you a tour anytime if you send them your video! Those are gorgeous. More than I would need, but 20 years ago, I would have been all over them! I regret selling the modular I had for 15 years. Now in my “dream” stick built and I just want it gone! Big difference in maintenance expense.
Yvw! I m looking to start a lakeside resort/camping with some permanent lodges and ur channel really helps me know what companies are out there. But how you approach the comedy in ur content is phenomenal I have spit water out of my mouth more than once.
I live in Florida and love-LOVE these types of homes. But I imagine the final price -- including the land and landscaping -- is the same or more as on-site builders. In other words, $$$! AND you might not even be able to bundle all of it into your mortgage! And if that's the case, then they're NOT a better alternative to on-site builders in the south.
My wife and I are in the process of using Affinity to build a mildly altered Dogwood plan for my Florida coastal property. It's a triple wide, having three modules joined together. Will be adding a custom 28"w X 6' d front porch after we move in.
Very nice-looking homes ! Did they mention how they are anchored to planet Earth so they can't be lifted into outer space by storms ? I don't want to wake up one morning and have to say, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. Come to think of it I don't know if I've ever been to Kansas.
Just gorgeous. And perfect if you live in areas on the west coast that is subject to earthquake generated tsunamis, like Crescent City, Calif. The Bay area, Santa Cruz, Coos Bay Ore. Washington states various islands.
I want something pretty much like this…but a small one level, elevated with carport, storage and laundry below….but built to withstand Mid-Atlantic, Northeast ..(and all the changes taking place) weather. I found a bunch here and on Pinterest but they seem built for warmer climates such as in Thailand …
I WISH these were available in IL/MO. Would be great for living on the river, where it annually floods. We've been looking, but having trouble finding anything locally inter-state. PLEASE Please Please have a video on midwest suppliers, with reasonable costs! LOVE the Channel!!
i Love the ABS...but might prefer it NOT on stilts in PNW. Also love the Kingfisher.....(for sure a 'retreat' on second floor...lol) but the ABS.... is large enough for me. And it's so nice to see something big enough for someone who finds tiny homes too small...though would love a smaller than normal home ..just not THAT small. Maybe someone out this way will so some like these and our local codes will allow them. (hopeful)
Hey Kerry - since you seem to be looking East - have you check out Vero Building Systems yet? Just saw a video on them. They just might set the standard for all those hurricane concerned new-building designs👍
Right out of my past. Being born and raised in South Florida, I remember well the stilt homes that were the rage in all of the low-lying, swampy land that dominates the area. Back in the day, they were all built by Jim Walters Homes.😂That builder didn’t survive the Great Recession. These look to be 10x the quality but I have no desire to return to the mosquito-infested swamps!
They are engineered to withstand 180 mph winds or they would never be able to get a building permit. And you don't know it, but in Kerry's video you looked right at one of the only homes on Sanibel Island that had no damage from Hurricane IAN. The entire island was under eight feet of water. I know because I took the before and after photos.
@@KerryTarnow Thanks for the information. I checked them out. Interesting homes but I wish they had more affordable options. It seems like the west coast have more options at the moment. One would think since the east coast has a denser population eventually it will get this as well but we also have hurricanes to worry about too. Here's hoping things open up more around the east coast and the new england area for affordable prefab and modular units.
Pretty. Look and sound expensive. If someone is going to insist on living in hurricane prone areas, wind resistance and stilts are a MUST, but here's a question. Even if your home survives, what good is it really, if the infrastructure all around you is wiped out? It seems to me, especially with climate change, the government needs to start considering whether building in weather destruction zones should be allowed. I have to be honest: I think my taxpayer dollars could be better spent than bailing out folks who decide to continue to roll the dice and get wiped out!
Hey Kerry, I sent you a message on IG as I don't really see any good ways to contact. If you would, take a look at it and shoot me a quick message if we can have a chat. Thanks much!
Those house make a lot of sense for the coastal areas in the US. I like the look, too.
I think so too!
The elevated beach house is exactly what we have been searching for but with more of the DEN look! Thank you!
No problem!!
If you're EVER near the Florida-Georgia line we've GOT TO have a meal together!!! ❤❤❤ For real!!

Good point John! Thanks for watching
I love these elevated homes. Makes me feel safe.
Glad you like them 🙌🏼
Ohhhhh! Thanks for finding this in my neck of the woods! Great looking houses, and appropriate for our part of Florida! Five stars!
Thanks!
😮, nice and also good to know that it can be raised to avoid storm surging, although your vehicle will be drowning. Thanks again👍🏻.
Shivering black bell thumbs up 😎.
Thanks Mary Beth!
Always a pleasure to watch your shows.
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying the vids

I will look into the contact for my area.

Double up on Hurricane straps. Our winds in Montana are getting worse ... Important.😊

Kerry…this video “makes me wanna roll my windows down and cruise”
Hahaha

They look like typical East Coast Beach houses. If I lived at the beach I'd consider it!
Me too 🏖️
Liked these alot. They don't look like shipping containers. Haha
Haha not at all 🙌🏼
The Kingfisher! This is great! We live on the Arkansas/ Missouri border. 😩
I really like the kingfisher too
This was great Kerry, now we need some decent options for the North East!
Will see what I can find, thanks for watching
@@KerryTarnow 🙂
Yerah I need more north east coast stuff.
I will try!
Now this design is more up my alley! I hope they also have some that are on the ground floor or have a ramp instead of steps if it is up high for those of us with mobility problems. A security fence in the back yard would also be nice for a dog to be secured.
Thanks for highlighting this business in our great state.
Thanks for watching Ellen!
Finally more east coast options! Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Thanks for the FL compatible, larger home size builder highlight. Definitely something we are looking for.
thanks for watching Mark!
Kingfisher gets my vote.
Me too 🗳️
This is great for those of us living in south Carolina
Absolutely

Thanks Fern! Appreciate you sharing your home ownership experience 🙌🏼
Thank you!! Love seeing what’s being built in my general area. ❤
Glad you enjoy it!
It's Florabama! 😊
Haha
You had me at "outdoor shower." Love it!
Right?
Car-under-house seems like a good, maybe $ saving idea & Noah would approve....
Nice. Thanks, Kerry! Like the Suthin' vibe. Scarlet and Ret Butler would feel right at home.. 😉🤔😅
Thanks for watching Joe!
Dude, I think i click on ur videos just for ur humor. U Crack me up!!!

@panamacitybeachbum what is the cost? How has the process been working with them?
Very nice-looking homes !

GREAT comment. Good question and so entertaining how you expressed it.

Thanks for watching Charle 🙌🏼
Thanks! Love those stilts… half the house can be on a stilted hillside while the other can allow me to walk in at ground level… this helps in my area
That would be cool! Thanks for watching
I love it double as garages.
Me too
We'll forgive you. We South Carolinians are quite resourseful and take these ideas to improve upon our own options 😂
You good! 😁

Very nice!!!

Thanks, looking for same in Houston TX area.
Have something coming Thurs

Nice/ Again I wonder if they'd be available in Puerto Rico.
Not that I’m aware of….

“...... and eating Cheetos” LOL ( still a kid inside)
Haha absolutely
Awesome 👏💫💕🌟❤️💯
Thanks Jett
Any companies in New England area?
I would like to see the floor plans for all of your homes.
check the website
how much per square foot
I thought you lived in Eastern Canada.
Im in BC
I’m having such a hard time just getting a rough estimate on how much something like this costs.
I'm going to be that person... I need a home for San Diego CA. 🤓 What do you suggest? Please and thanks 🙏 I want a two story. 1200-1900 sf
Lol, it still builds light stick frame homes. Doubt it will withstand 180 mph hurricane winds.

Are thier pre fab homes available in Virginia?
I bet there is! Will see what I can find
Kerry, I'm in Summerland BC. I'd like to connect.
Great foundation for floodplain land sold, in drought-time, by shyster city planners + developers as “buildable.”
Thanks for watching
Know of any builders in the Northeast US? Specifically in New England or Southern New England?
I think Unity Homes services that area

I looked at this company before! Happy to see you do a video because I feel like if you don't talk about... They are fake... Haha 😂
haha! They are real
👍
🙌🏼
You are funny. Are you single...haha just kidding..Love your channel
Haha thanks for watching Cat
appreciate the east coast effort. sigh, though.
Thanks for watching Meredith
WHERE IN THE NAME OF 'YOUR HAIR GEL', WAS I WHEN THIS CAME OUT?? I FEEL IGNORED!!
Hahaha. You probably turned off notifications 😠 😆
Nice effort to include east coast, but you lost your demographic on this one, too expensive.
Thank you for the feedback!
