Yes, I started putting together the list of what I actually collect and it was kind of ridiculous how long the list has become. That part about confessing to Graig that I have a problem was not part of the prep so it was naturally funny. Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words!
Wonderful conversation, as always. The Diamond Stars is an almost perfect card, but I just can’t get past that it has “Visitors” where the home team should be. 😅
I hope my comments are not too much. Loved this conversation and wanted to chime in. Feel free to skim or ignore if I went overboard. I am a really broad collector too! I feel you Dan! My real hobby dream is having every HOFer from Topps, Bowman, Fleer (‘63) and Leaf (‘60). Will never get there but continue to peck away at it. Also a Banks collector and trying to get all of his OPC and Venezuela (have the Topps/Bowman run). I love ‘60s and ‘70s OPC and try to get HOFers in those. Working on ‘54 Wilson Franks HOF and ‘64 Stand-Ups. Also want to get playing days of every HOFer - just starting to get pre-war. Graig those are 3 great looking 5s - I still need Brooks and Yogi and would be so happy to have those! Your Yaz is clean no black on it. I am looking for a ‘51 Williams - yours is sharp. Wow Graig’s dad - hope he was able to reinvest the Mantle and McCovey money into his collection. Dan that Ford is beautiful - one of the few things from that era I don’t collect is Berk Ross and so far have had the willpower not to dive into those. I still need the Spahn and the Mantle. Your centering on the Mantle is amazing. I love horizontal cards!! Dan - I am getting The Sporting Life, the T202s and The Diamond Stars to get affordable HOFers from that era compared to other sets. Graig I agree on Cracker Jack - got a 1915 Chief Bender to get one of them. I still have zero T206s - I want to get a Cobb bat off shoulder someday but haven’t found the right one yet. Would love to find one that looks as good as your Johnson and Mathewson. Dan those are beautiful T206s. Agree I don’t mind the stamps. Graig while your Hornsby is beautiful and I would be proud to own it - I would happily take Goudeys that are so nice they don’t look real. Dan love your Mize pre mainstream cards. Beautiful Joe Wood. Graig your T206s always have the best color. That Huggins really is beautiful. Your eye is sharp! Agree the M101s are really nice. For some reason don’t remember those as a kid - must not have liked the black and white cards back then. Loved Guidrey as a kid. Wow Dan that ‘48 bowman set is unreal! What a collecting achievement. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
I love how you mention not being able to be patient. It's a flaw I've had for my 35+ years of collecting. I'm finally reigning it in a bit, but some of that might be because the things I look for don't come available very often. It's basically forced patience, but when it comes available, I'm usually scrambling. LOL
@@beansballcardblog This is part of why my discussions among hobbyists online and offline have been so positive for me. It’s helping me understand my collecting flaws, which are sometimes really just character flaws. Like my lack of patience, impulsivity, and extreme FOMO.
Great show fellas. I watched y’all’s faces the entire time! Hahaha. It was like hanging out with two friends and looking at cards. That is always a good time for me.
@@DoubleDvintagebaseballcards I used your line. “Dan I’ve never watched your show…but I’ve listened to every one.” Thanks again for being a great guest.
I’m broadly narrow. I know exactly what I want, I’m very organized and calculated- but my wantlist is over 25K items haha! Every time Graig said “that’s a lot of sets” I was like “wellllll 😅”
At what point is paying over comps ok? In my mind the reason cards increase in value are comps continue to increase. At some point if you want a card you may need to pay higher than comps and that’s ok.
The best part of this episode was seeing your “want list” and your admission you have a problem. Great episode. Almost 2 hours flew by.

Thank you for sharing your conversation and cards. I'm not against grading, but there is nothing like the smell of vintage cards... Awesome show!

Great episode. Graig is a great and engaging guest. I love the way you both collect.
