Geoff, the base subscription to Market Movers should allow for more than 25 cards in the collection tab. Help us out this holiday season and expand it a bit
Feels like a bit of the story is missing as to where the up front money came from. As for how he went from nothing special to his current collection, he got lucky. Bought before the boom then sold during the boom. Great advice, hard for anyone else to follow now.
You can bet he had a whole lot more money to start his collection with than almost anyone watching. That fact alone make the advice he’s giving negligible
You can start a low end collection and slowly build it up the same way. It also takes some luck investing in a guy for a couple bucks that turns into a few hundred dollar card.
Why does that matter? 😂
Great advice to not get too caught up in chasing the trends, listen to yourself when you first see a card and know if you like it someone else should too
Awesome interview, more of these videos would be great!!!!
Grow your collection by buying now the cheapest prices of every year is around Christmas time
Geoff could you do an episode showing the differences of parallels and varieties? Like glossy, s.prints, refractors, foils, p.plates, holograms, prizms, artist proofs, and such. I don't know the differences and wish I could see the differences. I think a lot of collectors likee who jave started collecting again would appreciate it. (I'm 53)
All you got to do is Google it. Tons of stuff .
He didn't get rich going all in on Desmond Ridder?
Great advice. Thanks for this video.
When is market movers going to update so we can see what arena club cards are selling for
Mentioned that his son bought Kabooms at the sports card show to flip them to another dealer. This dealer was aware of him buying and flipping the Kaboom cards. I have a stupid question why didn’t the dealer just buy the cards from the original source? No legs?
Love this guy
all great collections happen over time, with money and effort invested. doesnt matter where the startup came from, dude said hes an investor by trade so pivoting to sportscards is a no brainer. plenty of good advice in this video
There is no money making for any collector who bought sports cards after 2020. You would probably have a better return buying a book of scratch offs.
This guy pick all winners. How come I keep getting losers?
This guy has no clue what he is doing literally just bought early before the boom
Geoff " You didn't just start writing a bunch of checks! " Literally started by just writing checks- Geoff. Also guy avoids the flipping question and growing value. He has money from before, just be honest. I like to trade thousands 10's 100's etc of dollars of smaller stuff at a time for a big one LOL no mention of how he got smaller stuff. This isnt advice its lying.
Its not... Hes talking about trading up. We see this happen in a lot of different collectibles markets. I've seen people get rich from trading video game items and flipping them and trading up a bunch of small items for a bigger and rarer one that went 10x the next year etc.
@byafos Its not addressing the actual start of the smaller stuff. Don't tell me this started by using his childhood 50 cent card collection. Turned into dollar stuff 10 100 and so on. Be honest...Geoff I have money, I bought dozens of smaller but not cheap stuff. Now for years have been liquidating that stuff into bigger pieces. And if I am wrong and this man was poor and had 50 cent cards and turned them into that room/collection I'd love his next interview to explain. My guess is we will never get that story unless he was interviewing Dan Blizerian and we all know what b.s. that was.
Bid on eBay?! Dude you're bidding against yourself. People will find that comp and offer you 80% lol you'll never make that money back
Not if it’s rare
