A quick and dirty way to deglaze historic steel windows. You can't often save the glass on steel windows because of the rock hard putty, but you can get it done fast this way.

OK Einstein, but how do you remove the hardened putty on the steel frame.
Use small propane torch to soften putty to removing the old putty off easy and use putty knife to shield the glass so it will not crack.
True but the heat from a open flame can release lead vapors.
Use respirator for removing lead. @@TheCraftsmanBlog
Respirators work but if the temps are over 1000 degrees or so then the lead vaporizes and no respirator can help you.
