Well said in the second half. So long as you enjoy your bonsai that's all that matters! Doesn't have to be fancy or expensive just bring you joy. Haters gonna hate no matter what!
Thank s Dave for addressing my post. I have not experienced any bonsai snobs so far, but I have seen it in quilting and I have experienced it big time, first hand when we were doing the dog show circuit about 30 some years ago in the NJ tristate area. So far everyone seems eager to teach something about bonsai and that gives me encouragement to get more trees and try something else. I will certainly send you some photos, I would be very happy too. Thank you so much Dave!
Never be afraid - just be VERY afraid...to try bonsai! Seriously, keep on going - you are no different than me. Training NOT required...just a lot of enthusiasm and love :)
Enjoying bonsai trees amidst a swarm of butterflies…that sounds pretty slick! I could FEEL your urge to find the bonsai in those cypress, 😂 Great conversation, good sir.
I couldn’t agree with Lisa more. Bonsai for me is all about pulling an idea from way down deep in my soul, and trying to visualize it using a living tree. You can’t get more personal than that. The snobs with their rules only serve to stifle creativity and stagnate the hobby. Great video Dave. Can’t wait to see more.
From what I learned. We can watch and read all our life about bonsai, but, if we do not do it ourselves and learn through our failures, we will never become good at it. We have to have faith in ourselves, no matter how many times we fail. Through failure, we learn and eventually become experts. Never give up. Start small and work your way up. Just some thoughts.
Nice day 3 Dave!!
Steve. Thank you for being you.
I appreciate you!
Great slab planting. Free rocks to the decor. GGF has a cool trunk. Nice tour of the trees in Cinci.
Foist!!!

That arcade shirt is pretty awesome!!!
I wonder where they get all those butterflies.
Do they buy the eggs, larvae, or just a bunch of adults in net cages.🤔
@@t3dwards13 excellent question. I should have asked.
