I'm a huge KTM fan, I park my superduke on carpet in my lounge room. This 500 would be a very nice addition. Great build work and very unique, if I ever have a spare 20k left one day I'd do the same
I recognized the left kick starter right away - I had an 89 KTM 500 and it had a great motor - EXCELLENT job using your left leg to start - so tired seeing people standing on the right side and have to use their right leg - great looking bike and I am sure tons of fun
my FAVORITE bike of ALL time. sounded like my youth!!! smoothest fastest 500 motor. (ask Jobe when he protested Kurt Niccols 500 because it beat him to the first turn) wish i could get parts for that motor mine is in need of some love
Hi Andy, is that the old KTM 500 4 speed engine. Just with the left side kick start it made me wonder. I had an alpha 1 500 Maico and hated the kick start o the left. If I stalled it I would stand on top of a berm to start it😀
Hi Jim. Correct. The bike was a 2018 450 SXF that has gone through some serious modifications and now fitted with a 1991 KTM 500 2STROKE motor in and it is a 5 speed.
What’s the difference between the 440, 500, and 550? Are the mills the same? Is it a matter of bore? Or is there more stroke on the bigger jugs? It’s a 94 440 EXC with less than 100 hours and I’d love to have more displacement. Is the 2018 450 frame the best option still nowadays or is there a better KTM frame with the newer stuff…?

I would put a hidrolic clutch kit on it asv levers are smooth but not like hidrolic. Other than that it's perfect.
Its spelled hydraulic.
And it doesn't need one.

I do have a 81 Maico Mega2 and that is obviously also left kick
