There used to be a time when you’d get laughed at for saying the Cayman is better than the 911. Those days are gone.
Somehow true. But the gt3rs and the gt2rs are still better than the gt4rs. The 911 is iconic and for many owners its the only real Porsche. Anyways in my opinion the 718 is a sick series but if money is no deal I would always choose the 911 ✌🏼

Porsche gave it the proper GT mototsport treatment here, 9000RPM with an engine mounted behind the driver inside the cabin with the seats being just inches away from it gonna give it the perfect experience of sound and vibration feelings......... Not to mention the handling and weight distribution!
This car is an absolute beast!!!

@@LeadFarmer1597 a manual makes this car experience worse..... Remember this is RS model which track focused car not road focused...
In track focused you don't want something limits your driving experience and makes you enjoy less of everything like 9000RPM engine and handling, Manual is a hassle than an enjoyment in such car, it can't keep up with other strengths this car have, so PDK is perfect fit....... Don't think PDK is less fun, in an RS car it's more fun with PDK
@@TRX25EX in your opinion. PDK quicker, and is awesome, but less engaging. Its why everything manual 2nd hand is more sought after/valuable.
@@simmo2745 Nothing is less engaging here, we live in 2022 not 2000s, cars are too fast for Manual to be enjoyed with on track..... I owned those cars and driven manual also have Lotus Emira Manual on order also.....
Cars like Cayman GTS 4.0 or Lotus Emira or Miata or S2000 or Mustang or M2 ( these are road focused cars) so they are more engaging with Manual, but cars like Pista, STO, 765LT, GT2RS GT3RS GT4RS these are (track focused cars).....
On track you can't enjoy these like I said because Manual becomes a hassle on their abilities, you can't reach the limits of those cars hence why owners of those not asking for Manual.... The ones who asking for manual are just road focused sports cars owners or fans......
When you own one of those cars you will understand why Manual is not the right choice...
Transmission is not the only part of the car, there's engine suspension braking tyres and many components that Manual can't keep up with hence resulting into less engaging experience with the car....

Porsche keeps making awesome cars, they seriously did not skip a beat over the last 10 or so years...
There are not many car makers out there who know exactly who they are and what they stand for, and it shows in the way how straight-forward their products are.

@@simmo2745 Well,they keep it simple i think.Relatively lightweight,mid-engined NA platform and the best engineered chassis in the business.Every component is top-notch.And they do not drag themselves in those pointless HP wars.People will gouge other people's eyes out for this car

RS are always PDK only. Its about max. performance. If you want a stick thats what the normal gt and touring packages are for.
@@MrChineseFood except pre 2013, when all gt3's either with or without the RS are only available in manual.
@@JW-ur1jw yeah that was almost 10 years ago. Things move on. The PDK is much faster than a stick and the spirit of the RS is always the highest performance. We can be lucky they still do sticks in the normal version. But in terms of the RS the PDK is the way to go.
@@MrChineseFood agree, the RS is defined more for the professional track enthusiasts who chases after lap times, and the normal manual GT cars are for the driving enthusiasts who just want to enjoy a good car.
This is my dream car. Back in 2013 i bought a Cayman R. Things have gone wild with Cayman since that! Finally a full blown track weapon!

Please always offer an internal combustion engine (ICE) for the 718 platform. The sound, and pulse of the flat 6 is the heartbeat of this magnificent beast. To be forced to drive an electric model, albeit 'faster' and 'socially acceptable'... I don't want to drive a heartless robot.
i mean its not really up to them, the planet takes precedence over your hobby. while sales of this are going to have a minuscule effect on carbon emissions, the car industry as a whole has to move on, its just the sad reality.
Buy them while you can before our beloved ICE cars are mandated out of existence, which will be sad indeed

Filmed here in the Faroe Islands in an underwater tunnel connecting two islands, from east to south. The tunnel was finished less than a year ago, and is the only one of its kind that has a roundabout.

Except when they put a hideous sounding 4 cylinder in the original 718 Cayman and Boxster. I think they learned their lesson tho and now they’re making heat again.

Great car. Thanks porsche for let us have the gt3 engine. You are the best marketing company in the world. But why it so expensive 50k chf above the gt4. And why we need to pay 176k chf ( 190k usd ) in Switzerland when with transportation to the USA it is costing less than 150k usd .I am afraid I will not have a brother for my 718 spider .
This car is so good based on facts and figures that this may just be the inspiration for the next gen 911............and surely this wud go into the history books as 'Car of the year', 'Sports cars Greats', etc .....

Porsche lifted the old GT3 front-end for the Cayman GT4. Is there any technical reason why Porsche couldn't fit the current GT3 double wishbone front suspension for the Cayman GT4 RS?
