@@ted-b it's not actually that bad in person, I think my phone mic enhances that particular frequency. With some music on its barely noticable

Took me a couple of years to convince the missus to use an eGPU , but now she's tried it I think she's a convert!!
Also:I will be filming a full review this week on the x230t/750 ti 2gb setup, so look out for it!
Really Liked your setup Dave.I have a X1 carbon 3rd gen with i7 5600u , can I hook it up with egpu dock? If so can you guide me in which m.2 port shall i connect it to.
Unfortunately the x1 carbons 2nd slot is only usb compatible as it for WWAN/mobile broadband so afaik ur out of luck in that regards
