Individuals of fluid gender have existed since forever when they was regarded as wise people, shamans, a bridge to understanding between the sexes...they have never famously been responsible for any atrocities and are not a threat to anyone. Voting record is largely meaningless - if you don't vote with your party you lose the whip. Staying with the party and fighting for something on the inside may often be a more sensible option. In many cases, all voting intention tells you - 'yep, they're in the conservative party'

@@GrenxixThat's not strictly true at all. Many politicians make a habit of voting against their party on a fair number of issues and retain the whip as most votes are not three-line whipped.
The reason many politicians vote with their party is because, generally speaking, they support those policies... that's why they are in the party to begin with.

The "Conservative" party aren't conservatives any more. They were completely taken over by left wing politicians during Cameron's time as leader, and these days are a far left party similar to Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens. In fact the politicians in all 4 main parties are completely interchangeable, they're all university educated champagne socialist globalist elites who've been indoctrinated into far left/communist ideology. Our universities have been hotbeds of communist indoctrination for decades, and now the effects are really starting to show. Hence our barking mad Net Zero Green Leap Forward, and the equally insane mass migration/Kalergi plan to create Kalergi's "future race" through forced interbreeding between Europeans, Africans and Asians.
Lefties are actually quite hostile to LGBTs, so I do agree that it's good to see a politician speaking out against conversion therapy though.

Royal colleges backing the bill should practically be the end of story but whatever. Medical professionals are the only people who should be making medically relevant decisions. Yes she's a decent tory MP.. I'm unsure this legislation will actually do anything, as the wording is coated in a dogwhistle suggesting that people are being pressured into transitioning, which isn't the case. And so this bill essentially seeks to protect those who profit from the conversions while having the superficial tone of suggesting it stands with lgb people.. who may be concerned that the rife transphobia is undermining their previous battle for their own right, which they'd be right to be concerned by, as hate crimes are going up against the board and many are feeling increasingly unsafe to be themselves as a result. This is why we need to stand with trans people and not use the lgbt people to attack those you don't like, whether that's trans people, muslims or anyone else. We stand together and fight for everyone or we lose.

I would like to see the Tory Party return to more of this stance. Back when David Cameron was in government, from what I saw of his party I generally considered myself a bit of a centrist. Agreeing with parts of Tory, Labour, LibDem and Green policy. Whilst there are occasional Tories like this woman now who I would agree with in several cases. The Tory Party’s (and Labour Party’s) lean rightwards has sent me further to the left. Accomplishing the exact opposite goal of what I expect they would like.
