Very informative video. I recently changed my job. I didn't research the market data. But I was very confident that my efficiency and skills will be worth that compensation .This confidence worked and I ended up receiving a hike of 70%.
I was asked by the HR of the new company that I interviewed for earlier if the salary is negotiable and I said yes.. but was really intimidated about that discussion as I am so new to this whole process.. however, after watching this feels like I can handle it with confidence! Thank you ❤️
I am my self a HR and going for a raise with Head Hr lets see how it works for me. I don't why I am feeling so nervous and feeling whether he she says No. Let's see will update how it went. WISH ME LUCK😁
I love your content Ankur and share it with everyone. I would only like to suggest that please prefer to use stock videos that represent Indian people since they are your audience mostly.
After certain level most people switch companies in search of better roles and not just for the sake of salary hike. In such cases candidates fear negotiations, they don’t want to miss out on a role which may provide great learning opportunity at the expense 5-10%.
Great point, Ankit. Interestingly, it's about what matters to a person. At a stage where they're satisfied with the figure, it's better to lose out on the meagre 5-10% instead of the golden place to work at. 😃
Thank you again for a wonderful video. One question; if an interviewer is hell bent on asking current CTC even though a person don’t want to answer it so that a salary value is decided by recruiter at the beginning itself; what should one answer? Thank you.
In India, the companies/HR will say, it is the company policy to provide x% (max of y%) current salary. That's the only sentence they can say when you ask why they need to know my current salary. Outside India, they don't care about what you get now. They will pay for what you are skilled on!
I failed miserably. Even with all the research backed data, she didn't budge at all. The HR was sooooo rigid! I only wish you'd made this video earlier. 😭
Well, In that Possibly she would have watched it too, and prepared to to be rigid... P.S. It's just a fun comment. The tips are Great, Ankur never fails at any topic.
Hello Sir, Hope you are well and doing good. My question is "what to do when HR asks for your previous salary slips, previous offer letter and Recent Salary
Hello Ankur! My Ex-Boss (Purchase Department) from my First Company taught me Negotiation and it changed my life! What he said was that there are 4 Pillars of Negotiation: 1. Power 2. Communication 3. Knowledge 4. Time Also I wanted to know in your video when you say you need to be prepared for the possible questions against us, how can we dwell on situations and not land up overthinking and causing anxiety? Thank You! Do Epic Shit
Is it possible in the Indian IT market that I can have someone else negotiate salary on my behalf? I am asking this because whatever said and done HRs are trained professionals in negotiations who earn their living by doing this hundreds of time. A technical person might only do this once in 5 years, it is really difficult to match their negotiating skills.
Hi ankur, if someone recruiter tells that your salary is this how will expect too much then how will we convince them because experience is more but package is low.
Tell them I am looking for Market correction. As I have spent so and so years in my earlier organization, I need restructuring/market correction of my Package as per my years of experience and expertise.
This video helped me to get 15% more than the CTC I have been offered. Thanks brother.
I'm watching this, Before Interview With HR.
Same
Same
Same 😀
Same here😏😑
Did it help?
1. Make a list of counter questions
2. Understanding the negotiator prospective
3. Research about your job role
4. Play the win-win game
Thank You Ankur Warikoo❣️
I raised my voice for the same and learnt Salary Negotiation and I got what I deserve.

The point that we have to negotiate in with our parents and also in relationships is sad but that's the truth.
