This was the Friday content I needed that I didn't know I needed.
Thank you for reassuring me that I will be okay and being vulnerable about still not exactly knowing where ya'll stand on "certain important life topics".

The 30s is such a weird time! Half my friends are getting married. Some are buying houses and kids and the late bloomers are still partying and enjoying life! A lot of paths to choose from! 😅

Alot of different "trade offs" to acknowledge (+/-). This will help alleviate the "feeling" involved while each person is on their path.

Yeah. There's no one size fits all nor one timeline fits all. Everyone on their own journey

As an Asian, i think that we are very engrained to walk a certain path snd it can be jarring when it doesnt actually happen.

Omg mel, you totally hit the nail on the head with the issues you mentioned with having children after 30. I'm also so scared. I feel so alone with this issue because majority of my friends have children and i don't yet. I'm so worried about the complications, not being able to conceive, and even how my child's health might be affected after having birth at a later age. I just turned 30 and i don't want kids with my partner right now BUT at the same time, i feel the pressure to have kids asap!

This podcast has way too many commercial interruptions. I'm only 19 minutes in and there have been like 3 commercial breaks already. I listen to a lot of podcasts and have never encountered so many commercial breaks.

I'm so happy you guys talk about these topics because honestly I don't have friends that are on similar timelines.
    - Fear of problems with children in 30s - I grew up around medical people and they would regularly talk about how normal it is for it to take a while to get pregnant as an adult. They talked about the range of fertility but they also talked about the percentage of success. Like adults who are able to get pregnant first try are honestly just lucky and it's in the lesser percentage. BUT on the other side of that sword there is a lot of concern because of the medical speak - "geriatric pregnancy" and "egg quality."
Lastly, Janet your legs look ✨amazing✨. They look so good it's like inspiring me to get back into working out 💕

I don’t think people can’t have a career and a relationship at the same time. you don’t have to drop one to have another. A healthy and committed relationship actually enhances career and overall life quality. You and your partner work together as a team to build a life together. The type of people who want to commit will do it in their 20s because they don’t want to wait until 30s when fertility becomes an issue for women. people who don’t want to commit will still not do it in 30s and beyond. Commitment is never an age thing, it’s a personality and belief system thing.

I understand that relationship can distract you from your identity and goals. It takes a well minded and self aware person to know how to balance it out. Unfortunately, most people in their 20s don’t have the skills to do so.
I agree with your commitment comment.

I am curious to understand why commitment to a marriage is harder than making a choice to have a child.

Its a good podcast but too many ads. It cuts the flow and makes it less than enjoyable. Made it go from a great podcast to mediocre
