- Brought an Echo CS-400 to the farm. Video shows an overview of it and some sawing action.

i call it the Glock (gen2-3) of chainsaws, one of the most reliable saws made!
did the carb and muffler mod first. next got rid of the safety bar and chain, put on the 16" WoodlandPRO ArborMAX 3/8" LP bar, man night and day difference!!!
safety 1st and do work! 👍👍
My cs-400 is 13 yrs old and have had no issues with it at all
I've never owned an Echo of any type, but my father-in-law has an Echo weed eater and he really likes it. He's had an Echo weed eater for as long as I can remember and not had any major issues, other than wearing them out. I have mostly Stihl chainsaws and weed eaters, my first chainsaw was a Homelite, but I have considered an Echo. If I decide to get another saw, I'll take a real close look at the Echo CS-400, it looks nice and I like the features you mentioned. Thanks and have a nice day!
Thanks!
I just purchased a “slightly used” CS400 today based mainly on the great service I’ve had from my Echo SRM 225 line trimmer. I’ve had a 14” Husqvarna that’s always been difficult to start. I like it because it’s light and easy to handle, but I wanted a bit more power for larger logs. I was trying to decide between the CS 3510 & CS 400. The 400 seemed to have better reviews.
Thank you for the comprehensive review!
I just got a CS-400 to clear up some oak in my yard. The saw performed really well, although the stock chain was pretty weak and not aggressive. I changed it out for a more aggressive chain and it really ran through the oak well.
Nice video echo makes great products. I have two of them. Echos run a little slower rpm. I have a bigger stihl but echo is my favorite
Thanks!
Hope it keeps going for you. I've had no luck with Echo & not much with Husq. The 45 year old Stihl 011av & 30 year old Farm Boss are still at it here. If I shop for a new one again, it will be electric. Regards!
Dang - good luck here (knock on wood) with both Echo and Stihl. Fingers crossed on this saw… 👍
Mine has run the last 2 years. Cutting cedar post and stave's. Only repairs are a dozen clutch drums and 3 maybe 4 pull cords
