Easiest starting 2 cycle tool I've ever used. Did not know about the oil adjustment screw. The air cleaner stays pretty clean even after a lot of dirty work. I blackened the raised sight lines with a Sharpie on mine, I can now fell with 99.99% accuracy.
A++! @11.30&12.30, when in the ~1.5' wood, THAT made my day!! Just got my (used, 2016) unit yesterday, was a treat seeing it's so capable in 18"b&c trim! Still "prepping" mine, may even port it I just haven't researched this unit enough yet but damnnnnn does this thing seem, pound-for-pound, a higher quality than unit *all* my echo's (2511, 355, 590) Has everything all the others do but also has that perfect air filter setup which is supremely important (shreds the 590's, and while I know others would fault the 400 for its plastic casing I just cannot, have beaten on my 355t for years including some > 20' drops and never had issue so truly don't care as I'm not gonna split the case on this thing!) Will say i find the g-force (or "air inject." etc) concepts kinda pointless, have always blocked that portal to my airboxes & simply do my own air-entries on the filter cover ("Frog Skinz" type, just DIY) I block the g-force portal because it still has fines/particles but moreso because of the heat it blows into the intake! Hoping it has a heat-shield between the jug & the muffler, will see! BTW thnx for the comprehensiveness here-- was GREAT to hear you mention "it sounds like 'old' echo's" because it just didn't sound like any of my echo's yet it still sounded 'ok', was bugging the heck outta me didn't wanna touch the carb yet it just 'sounded different' so am grateful you mentioned that and ran it so it could be heard! Do you know *why* it sounds different? Re it's muffling&exhaust I will be modifying it "high flow" like all my powerheads, am curious if that'll negate "older Echo" noise signature of this unit...
Echo has been using Oregon chain for a long time. Husqvarna was using Oregon chain for the most part up until around late 2017-early 2018 when they came out with their X-cut chain
You should buy longer gloves...... If you don't want forearms like mine....I look like a cutter.....worked at a Firewood manufacturing place during my late 20s..... summers suxed
I purchaced a CS-400 about a month ago. Exceltent saw and easy to use right out of the box. I wish I had bought one years ago..
Thanks for sharing
One of our most popular selling saws!
Easiest starting 2 cycle tool I've ever used.

I just bought one. Can't wait to use it
We sold quite a few of these saws. Good all around saw for casual use
Best review I've seen so far...
Amazes me how much meaner my cs400 sounds and cuts
Remove the plastic jet limiter sleeves and open up the muffler inside. And a sharp chain is a must
Voids the warranty if you remove the limiter sleeve
@@texasvex5253 Yeah but the echo will out-live the warranty anyway. Besides, doing some mods will increase life and performance
I have 4 Echo saws! I beat the snot outta my 400! Some days I’ll run 7 tanks of gas through that little saw& it always starts and always runs strong!
Good video, thanks. Have the value pack on order to go do some storm cleanup in Pensacola.
Pensacola in the house 🙌🏽
I was stationed at P NAS....AirCrew Canadate school....USMC
Great informative video
Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm getting one tomorrow
What year model did echo start making the i- 30 easy start ?
Long long ago, in a galaxy far far away.

when did ECHO start packaging OREGON chains and claim they are ECHO chains??

I’ll never buy another ECHO product. May work OK for a year or two at best. Then nothing but trouble.
Had mine for 15 years and never had an issue. Had a stihl too and in my opinion Echo is a better saw .
So fake i cant stand it.
This isnt a trump video, So whats fake about it???
Much like your intellect, eh?
