      Chris Ferguson love both acts but I don't know how well they'd go together on a record now - the beats/instrumentals and the lyrical style of the two might just be too different. Hope I'd be wrong if they ever did it though, because RTJ are great and Kendrick is approaching like all-time, untouchable legend status now

    This is why I don't like music elitists who act like all "mainstream" artists are bad or that being mainstream is bad. It was kind of weird seeing Tech N9ne excited that Lil Wayne gave him a shout out & now Killer Mike is reacting the same way to Kendrick. "Mainstream" artists are just underground artists that signed to major labels, what they do once they get there is up to them.

    • @ballinglikechoji6558
      @ballinglikechoji6558 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Wulbulbul Lubbubwublub lil wayne has a larger catalog and has more commercial success than kdot, so no you can't compare them in a business sense, but Lyrically, they are close to being on par with eachother, just cuz wayne raps about money, hoes, bloods and drugs don't mean he's not as good as kendrick for writing more politically stimulated hip hop, and vice versa, different sides of the looking glass in the same jail you feel me? in essence no one artist is better than another, we judge things like this from a numbers standpoint, which in all honesty, has nothing to do with the craft of hip hop, it does however come into play, like I said, in a business sense. sadly hip hop is becoming washed up, so when we see someone like kendrick, who portrays an understanding of what the roots of hip hop are, we automatically jump on the bandwagon. not saying he don't deserve it, but you catch my drift.

RTJ4 just dropped the other day, mf's is finding both fuel for energy to protest off this record and soul to heal from the abusive brutality of power that's a major issue across the country and the world right now, and Mike just keeps on getting more dope as the days go by. And El P does too, production on that record is top to bottom fuckin ridiculous.

      In my opinion Jay Rock better than Q to me and Soul is low key the 2nd best rapper at TDE (Kendrick said Soul was better than him). The only hiccup is Ab Soul's subject matter may not be to everyone's liking, but TDE and Dreamville keeping the art alive for sure
