  • My Gaggia Brera bean to cup coffee machine after 10,000 cups and still going strong, see how it froths milk and makes a great Cappuccino, top tip for the best milk to use. Is it showing visible signs of its age, see what happens when it fails to work. Is the de-scaling and cleaning routine responsible for its long life and reliable service. All of these questions are answered in this video of this great little machine.

      Hi there, thank you for your comment its much appreciated, on average I make six cappuccinos per day, so I've had a bit of practice, you know what they say practice makes perfect, also the milk helps, long life semi skimmed froths better than ordinary semi skimmed, and then there's whole milk, different again.

    Hello I bought Philips EP3246/70 two weeks ago, I extracted and washed the inner part for the first time, it was mostly clean there was excess machine oil here and there, a little bit chunked as drops. It looked not that problematic. I watched your videos about this machine, it looks like these models share the same inner components, what do you think, do they have a high similarity, have your followers asked or said the same? (sorry for broken English, and thank you for these videos!)

      Hi there, thank you for your comment I do appreciate it. As I have no experience at all of the Philips EP3246/70 I really don't know if they share the same inner components, or have high similarity, no one else has mentioned this to me. Don't apologise for your English its good, sorry I can't be of more help to you, thanks for watching.

    Do you have any recommendations for cleaning this machine to keep it in good working condition?

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Simon, thanks for your comment, it is important to clean any coffee machine regularly to maintain good working order. At the moment I'm producing a video showing how I clean and de-scale my Gaggia Brera, so keep watching this channel my video will be available soon.

    My problem on this machine is when i press the on button to warm up the machine the rinsing water doesnt come out from the same sprout that the coffee comes out. It goes all in the bottom tray. The machine makes very good coffee but the bottom tray is always filling up with water. Do you have any idea on what is the problem causing this?

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, I have no idea what could be causing your problem as I'm no expert on the inner workings of the machine, compared with my machine a little water does come out of of the spout, the drip tray is emptied every day as the machine is used every day. I have just made a video on cleaning and descaling, have a look and compare the amount of liquid that comes from my machine to yours on the descaling programme.

      I think it’s one of the o rings on the spout behind the brew group ?

      In my machine the stem of the compressor piston was not retracted completely at the end of the brew cycle. The non cylindrical lower part of the stem does not seal the bottom of the brew chamber, as the upper part does.
      This is because of a too lossy construction that results in not pulling down this stem leaving the bottom of the brew chamber open.
      Placing rubber washers from a watertap 12 mm in diameter on the part shown in the picture solves this issue completely. When you replace the brew unit pull up the yellow beam in front to put the brew unit in its starting position. Rinsing guaranteed.this post isnt mine.is from wajbloot guy

    How hot is the water? Can I make tea with this machine?

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Sarah, I've never made tea with the Brera, even though it dispenses hot water for hot drinks. In my book tea is made with boiling water, it does not dispense boiling water. Many thanks for your comment and watching my videos.

    one of these machines has come up for 80 quid near me... from the videos i have watched about this machine the espressos look a bit watery?

    • @WillyFilmit
      @WillyFilmit  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Chris, £80 is cheap, they are £425 new, regarding brew strength my machine is quite old it's made well over ten thousand cups and there's nothing watery about the espresso that comes from it. This machine does have three brew strength settings, and for espresso the grinder must be set to its finest setting. I do hope this information is useful to you, thank you for watching my videos.

    I would not recommend this machine. I had the older generation of this and it operated flawlessly. Gaggia needs to update the firmware on the grinder sensor as this is a know problem. There are magnets and a sensor located in the grinder which monitors the RPM’s. When you run out of beans, you hear the grinder speed up and get the warning to fill the beans, if it slow down ever so slightly, it will reject the coffee puck and will not brew. I done everything that they recommend including recalibrated the grinder, cleaning it, changing grind settings, having the coffee maker relearn the algorithm by brewing over 25 cups of coffee, using the recommended beans, and the problem still exist in which 30% of the time it will reject the coffee grinds which is wasteful. The solutions provided by the coffee shop that I bought it from and the manufacturer are not fixing the issues. I have three other friends with the same maker after I recommended it (when I owned the previous generation) experiencing the same issues. Thanks for the review

      Hi William, thank you for your very interesting comment, I'm amazed that my machine is still making a great cup of coffee after all these years, however I have noticed recently that the dump box full light is coming on when there's only two pucks in there. Maybe its time to start thinking about a replacement, however whilst it's still working I'll just keep thinking. Once again many thanks for your comment, it's nice to know of the experiences of others with the same machine. Cheers.

      I wish you luck. I do miss my older model, I was unaware of the issues with the newer model. When it works it does make a good cup of coffee. My old machine lasted many years as I replaced all the gaskets and brew group without any issues. The rejected puck still happens but I can usually tell by listening to the gringer. It didn’t matter what coffee beans I used or was recommended. Thanks for your response and best to you
