You are THE MAN! You make these jobs look so easy. I’m just an ol dummy that loves running my 1960s and 1970s Johnson and Evinrudes. 1967 20hp Johnson, 1971 25hp Johnson, 1974 6 hp Johnson, 1976 55 hp Johnson, and a “new” 1980 4hp Evinrude... my 6hp needs your touch. It’s a good ol low hour motor but I just can’t seem to get it right. I wish I lived close by and could get it to you for your magic touch. Thanks for your videos I sure enjoy trying to learn from them.

Watched two of your video's excellent stuff! Have a cute little 6hp Evinrude twin to rebuild and a 25 e-start ( later model w/ electronic ignition ) that starts, idles, and runs nice....then after a period time seems like it looses spark on one cylinder at low RPMS, but still runs smooth on top.....found your channel and you certainly helped define a direction thru analysis vs.parts swapping :)

My question is , is there anyway to eliminate the points all together ? Did that to an old 8N tractor way back in the day but will have to remember what I did just wondering if I can do that to this 6HP engine? Looking at the part price list and the parts are pretty cheap . Think I will just replace all the electrical and put a fresh , water pump in too while I'm at it . Guess I will need the timing tool too if I can find it . Thank you again for the video's . Been telling my friends about them . One more thing- the manual says condenser for 25 ho should be 25-29 mfd
I think it is a mistake. My condenser measures 180nf that is more realistic
