I’m currently working on the same model, and I’m having to replace the pinion gear, I pulled the pin to try to get the gear off thinking I could slide it out and some thing came on wound I think it’s some sort of tension spring for the hand crank so that’s gonna be fun but I appreciate this video as I was unsure how to really get this flywheel off and put it back on

It is not possible to convert points ignition to CDI ignition on old Johnson Evinrude outboard motors

What size and thread are the bolts you used for your puller. I've got the same puller but it doesn't have the correct size bolts.
