- With over 25 years in Hollywood and 120 IMDB credits to his name, Matthew Lillard knows what it’s like being a working actor. But even with two-and-a-half decades of industry experience and successful turns in Twin Peaks: The Return, The Descendants, and Halt And Catch Fire, he still finds himself auditioning and taking on extraneous projects. But as he’s gotten older, Lillard has learned how to say no to projects that don’t spark his interest.

Literally ran into him as he was coming out of an elevator in Vegas. I said "you cut me too deep" and he said "i think I'm dying man" and off we went our separate ways. My only celeb encounter and it was perfect.

Matthew Lillard in Scream, is probably my favorite horror movie performance of all time. He was hilarious and completely unhinged. He's so underrated and he needs to be in more stuff!

He’s one of the best actors around. I think he deserved an Academy Award for Scream, or at least a nomination. That performance is fantastic and he was one of the highlights of a incredible film.

One of the most underrated performances ever was his scene in The Descendants (2011). When Clooney confronts him he goes from friendly to frightened to defensive to ashamed all in the span of 2-3 minutes. It's really a great scene.
Forgot about him in that one. He does a great job in that role. Very convincing as an average guy guilty of really shameful behavior.
And then Alec Baldwin walks in with a gun
"My mom and dad are gonna ba so mad at me!" Ohhhh Stew...
That line was always hilarious to me. He's this unhinged psychopath but in that one moment he reverts back to a kid who's scared like he just got caught breaking a window.

The fact that people don’t give him the credit he deserves. Honestly I think he’s content with scooby doo and I’m glad they still have him do that cuz not having him in the movie was a bad choice on the directors part

I will always hear Shaggy when he speaks. His voice is awesome. It is crazy to learn that he messed up his voice so much playing Shaggy though. also streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu could really help him make a comeback...He's great in TV
Late reply, but hes great in general! For whats it done, im still glad he voices Shaggy quiet a bit. Not super in love with those Scooby movies, but that cast and especially Lillard are incredible
Lillard is one of those character actors who adds a positive element to everything he's in. When he really gets to shine (e.g. Without a Paddle, and yes, Scooby Doo) he's extraordinary.
He's the coolest character by far in the movie Hackers. He made that movie memorable, unlike Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie.
His breakdown in Twin Peaks Season 3 is masterful and goddamn terrifying.

I’d really like to see Matthew Millard used more in some interesting roles. He’s a good actor and as he gets older I think he has the gravitas for more serious roles that he will fulfill spectacularly.
Check out Good Girls! It’s probably his best performance n he killed it opposite of Christina Hendricks. I might be a lil biased but I was pleasantly surprised by his acting n his role being way different than his previous work

Always liked him in everything I've seen him do, from his newer DnD stuff to underrated gems like Wing Commander and Hackers. And I like it when people are straight shooters, he didn't sugarcoat it and just said he had a bad experience. But he didn't go into detail and throw anyone under a bus either.
Hes too good for this world thats what people don't appreciate, hes so transparent and pure & his humour is just something natural and unique and I think that we need this in these days idk man ! he deserves better I just wish him all the best❣️ love him hope meet him one day💔

I always like Matthew Lillard. He's had some great roles both humorous and dramatic. He's very versatile in any role. I was surprised with the role he had on Twin Peaks. He did a great job on that show.

I love every movie this guy has been in and he is awesome and totally underrated.
This awesome man came into the small restaurant I cook at today (in a super small town), and he was incredibly sweet and chill to everyone on staff, he was super low key and was down with pictures, such a fucking cool person

Slc punk. That movie still gets me to this day. The ending always gets me a bit teary eyed and it's his performance in that scene.

I wish he was in more stuff lately. He was great in the 90’s teen movies. Then not sur what happened. All of a sudden I saw him in the Good Wife for several episodes. More of a guest spot but he was great in that. He would do great in a high school reunion movie.

Weird this popped up on my reccomends. My mom was watching an old episode of Nash Bridges today, and Mathew was in it. And clearly too good an actor to be on that whacky show. Reminded me of all the stuff he did in the 90s. Dude was in some Cult Classics for sure.
