It's true. Conan recently mentioned that, when he was developing a style of humor, he learned that his ability to react to people was his strong suit.
So it's a perfect setup when somebody funny like Arnold takes the lead.
That's pretty much how Arnold is. When he walks into the room he's the main character.

Arnold is so damn good with people. His story is incredible. It's wild how great his movies still hold up as well.
Yes, Predator is one of the greatest action movies ever. Terminator, True Lies. From Terminator to Twins! Too many to mention. What a legend.
Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but there was that first movie he made called Hercules In New York. I wouldn't say that that one has held up. But I think one major reason that one failed was because they dubbed his voice.

For someone originally typecast as a meathead, it’s incredible how quick-witted and intelligent Arnold is. This dude feels like he could somehow fit in with Monty Python. And to have done this much as a non-native English speaker!

Bill Burr’s bit about Arnold is so true… people love to make fun of him and make him out to be dumb but he’s one of the smartest, sharpest, and surprisingly funniest people out there, even still in his 70s.
He’s like Shaq, they actually got smarter, more witty and talented and humble as they got older, which is so rare.

Robert and Arnold can take turns doing Arnold across different time periods (and grand mama), and Conan, Sona and Matt can play the minor roles.

The 90s won't be complete without Arnie. This ep is so epic
90's? To be fair he was on the downside of his career by then. T2 was probably his biggest hit and that came out in the early 90's, but everything went downhill from there as far as being blockbuster successes. Most everything he's best known for came out in the 80's. While I liked movies like Eraser, True Lies, and Last Action Hero, if you ask somebody about Arnold they are going to bring up Conan, Predator, or Terminator, which started in the 80's. Total Recall and probably his most successful comedy Twins also came out in the 80's.

@@StarlesslightMy first thought is always Jingle All The Way. My mom doesn't like violence so we didn't watch many punchy-kicky action movies growing up and I was like 10 when it came out. There are probably other people very close to my age who think of him more like a super buff family comedian :)

I had no idea Arnold was this quick and genuinely funny. He’s so comfortable riffing and improvising, you’d think he does this regularly or has his own podcast.
go look at Arnold in hes prime there are some interviews and just him hanging out with people. dude was allways like that.. cracking jokes, speaking in a intellectual manner, omega high charisma, he is a natural at so many things.. multi talented and very socially intellectual.
He's been an entertainer for 50 years, and did several comedy movies
@@SnoopyReads Acting is a completely different skill than being entertaining in an unscripted setting, that’s why it’s surprising. Many actors are amazing or hilarious delivering written dialogue but have no personality in a setting like this.

I have always heard that Arnold is the life of the party everywhere he goes. Always joking, always involving everybody, always making people smile. This podcast definitely supports that.

Arnold is one of a kind. He's such a good sport about bodybuilding, he's charismatic and funny, and his discipline and focus are off the charts.

Arnold is certainly one of the most underrated comedians of the past 40 years. He truly can slip into steam of consciousness, Improvised situation comedy, effortlessly. I have his signature on my Bachelors diploma from Chico State. (1981)

It says a lot about Arnold's life and personality that he was invited to both an environmental conference and a legendary comedy podcast where they discussed a ridiculous script from the 90s at the same time 😅
This is the best Arnold interview I've seen in a long time. The constant back and fourth banter and energy during the podcast was perfect.

Please have Arnold as a guest again! He's great to listen to. I recently listened to him narrate his memoir (Total Recall) and watched his Netflix documentary. He's got a lot of interesting, thought-provoking things to say, even if one's not a fan of his work. And he's got an immense sense of humour. Would happily listen to this foursome for hours.

I've been a fan of Arnie films since I was a kid but somehow these last few years of seeing him doing podcasts and documentaries and that have made me love him more than ever. Just a top lad!
Actually met him when I was a teen & he creeped me out, but I throughly enjoyed this version of him.

This is so wonderful. Arnold has spent nearly all of his adult life as this imposing figure in everyone's eyes, both as a bodybuilder and an A-list action movie blockbuster star and here... it's so clear in his expressions and the way he looks around the room after a punchline that he truly enjoys it when he's able to be funny and make everyone around him laugh. 😊
Malkovich, Cage and others have played slightly altered versions of themselves in movies, so this Hans and Franz movie could work. Also, congrats on providing a format where these action stars like Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford can show their brutal comedic timing.

according to cast members, Seagal was sulking off to the side or somewhere after they did a Hans and Franz bit where they said Arnold could beat Seagal, and when asked if everything was good, Seagal sighed and said "I just wish Arnold was here so I could beat him up!".
You can tell Arnold lights up the room brighter than any guest. He has that presence and energy that are indicative of true legends.
