i made mine thocc for free but it's not practical. this is for hotswaps remove your case slowly you can use the keeb with the case attached since battery. Or remove the battery make your own card board case with it you are left with basically everything

I personally would call this Thacc (and a bit clack) because of it's lighter sound and less deep bottom-out, still a very good keeb and an absolutely desirable keeb for a budget price, I would call thocc a deep tactile sound with a deep bottom out sound, you could get this by tape modding or foam modding(A more rubbery foam is also nice) to get a nice bottom out sound, Really good keeb.
idk why you would go straight for all the keycaps thats just time consuming and inconsistent plus clearance issues could arise just foam modding the different plates this board comes with would make it deeper and less hollow
I think that's because this person is thinking from a custom keyboard perspective, so this price range is been as "budget keyboard" by an enthusiast. For reference, custom keyboards are around at 300 bucks at entry level (cheaper ones will be made out of plastic/acrylic) and can go up to thousands of dollars, hope this helps!
It costs more to build a custom, even if that custom 100 buck keyboard turns out to not be as good as a prebuilt customisable 80-100 buck keyboard, you’re buying all the parts separately, as more stuff is available in the market and it is more established then the prices for custom parts will start dropping more, but saying that I’ve noticed that we are able to build a budget keyboard right now for 50-80 dollars

true, but it is a deep sound signature and i did add two layers of foam in the keyboard. there is literally no case, just a bottom plate, pcb, and a fr4 plate (it's almost impossible to remove the hollowness). also, boba u4ts are thocky tactiles so

Unfortunately, they keyboard is also hollow due to lack of a case. Hollowness and thockieness are two completely different things.
What’s wrong with 40%? You can use layers and some programmers actually use it since it’s more comfortable for them. If you’re thinking about buying this, it’s a custom keyboard. I would be absolutely damned if a normal prebuilt keyboard sounded like this

I recommend lubing it with the normal method. My u4ts got a ton deeper after this, even compared to the gazzew method.

i would try add some foam/silicon into the keycaps it makes the hollowness less aparent
but that dampens the sound. people think they want “thocc” but what they really want is a loud and nice sound. not muted and accented.
