I'm a United fan and the one thing that stands out is in 5mins on Sky, Slot was able to tactical describe what they needed to do to win the game and the changes done during the game. Ten Hag hasn't ever been able to do that. I understand injuries last year but to get the fans on side he needs to be able to change games.
There’s a reason Man United lost 14 league games last season and lost 20 plus overall. Man United have the most basic tactics with a poor midfield and awful goalkeeper. You’re right Ten Haag just plays the waiting game and hopes individual brilliance will help him whist having a poor team.
Looks decent but he’ll try something Casamero never done. I said it before this signed him he would try for the first six months because it was a World Cup year and he wanted to play for Brazil but he came to retire on full pay.
Ex Man Utd players don't seem to able to accept that the Fergie years were the exception and are the past. Every bad result is a post mortem on the club. Losing to Liverpool who are a comfortable top 3 club isn't massively unexpected.
I've been saying this exact thing for years. Totally agree mate. It's like they have some right to be winning everything all the time. Success is rare and never lasts forever. They need to realise top 4 would be exceptional for this mediocre team 👍
Man Utds history is purely based on Busby and Ferguson, 2 exceptional managers. Outside of that they're a top half club, right now (10 years) theyve reverted to that.
Whats this thing about Slot being 3rd choice? Alonso was obviously the leading candidate but its pretty clear after that the club actively chose Slot over Amorim after speaking with both.
@@paulmacwales yeah but that's not what you want, you want to have someone who you believe can take you to the top level. You don't get rid of a manager and hire a stopgap. Then you have pay severance twice. They will be looking for someone else for sure.
I find it hard to believe either Alonso or amirom were first choice when they play 3 at the back systems. No one actually knows who was first choice candidate.
I am a Man Utd fan but I agree with everything Jamie has said for the past few months. United have not had a style of play, regardless of injuries, there is STILL no identity and they are a badly coached team. The forward players ONLY go for the killer pass. I am currently watching Real Betis play against Real Madrid in the first half and they have so many patterns of play compared to us, it's astonishing. Now, they might go on and lose the game but having an identity brings consistency. We have no clue, 3 years of ETH and there has been a distinct lack of control in our style of play all through those 3 seasons.
the players are rubbish and lazy and cannot be arsed and ten Hag needs to adapt his style for the prem. United are doomed for a another 10 years, minimum.
@@ushmush4074 He hopes the forward players play an early ball forward come up with something off the cuff. That isn't a style of play and if it is, it is unacceptable after spending 600m pounds in 3 seasons. There are no consistent patterns in movement of our wingers and midfielders or in possession sequences, it's all "I'm going to play this forward and hope something works out" and it's been like this in the other seasons as well. I'd love to get your thoughts on the style of play.
@@ushmush4074 oooh got one. 😂 Stop believing what you see on social media. Ive only twice thought we had a small chance of the Title pre Klopp. April 2009. Anyone can see Liverpool are in far better shape and will finish ahead….. apart from Neville and I’m guessing yourself 😂😂
@darrenpearson8451 everyone can see Liverpool are in a much better place. Everyone. The whole squad is established, United is at the beginning of a rebuild. It's not even a question.
Poetic that the Liverpool fans locked in the away end randomly start singing Carra’s song around the time he starts talking about Liverpool, particularly audible from about 09:44 onwards
Difference is, Slot was known to be next Liverpool manager before the season was even over. Ten Hag didn’t know if he still had the job even AFTER the season.
Neville's cognitive dissonance on that weird point he was trying to make. He's desperate. Carragher also pointed out that Liverpool and Bayern HAD to appoint new managers as their current managers were leaving. United on the other hand had to make a bold decision, which anybody with half a brain would know would be to sack 7hag. Instead they bottled it and extended his contract, but just by a year. So a total half arsed commitment to the manager. You either back him properly with a few more years or you sack him. You dont spend a month publicly flirting with other managers, then go back with your tail between your legs and just take the one year option. Absolutely clueless management from Ineos. So too is allowing ten hag free reign to blow the remaining budget on more Eredivise standard players.

I understand the decision to keep Ten Hag on (even if I don't fully agree with it) but giving him an extension was mad. All that's done is cost the club money when they eventually sack him.
As a man Utd fan, Carragher is right. ETH should have gone, majority of the players he has brought in have been flops. He has also held onto players that should have been dropped from the team almost immediately, Rashford, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Evans, Erkisen.
Carragher is correct. Neville, understandably, has a significant blind spot when talking about Man United. If the club openly is courting other managers and fails to do so, that completely undermines the current manager. It's like dating other people while you're married and then saying you can't find anyone better at this point so you'll stay. It's madness.

It's easy to say change manager. But realistically who would do great with this bunch of players? Rashford is good for 4-6 games every season. Bruno is very good player against lesser teams, but does nothing when it's a tough game except for whining and complaining, Garnacho is overhyped kid, Casemiro can't cover the midfield by himself defensively anymore, Mainoo while beeing a great great talent, has very bad positionel awereness and shouldn't be played as one of 2 deep in the midfield, defense is average all over the line. To be fair, Ten Hag is into his third season now. You ought to know your best formation, starting 11, etc. by now. How many years does it take to figure out how you want to play with regards to the players you have available? From a Liverpool point of view, the result is everything we wanted. Can't believe how many people favored United in this game. Had this penciled in as a 3-1 win for Liverpool, I thought Rashford would get one he is always class against us. There’s a reason Man United lost 14 league games last season and lost 20 plus overall. Man United have the most basic tactics with a poor midfield and awful goalkeeper. You’re right Ten Haag just plays the waiting game and hopes individual brilliance will help him whist having a poor team.
Give ETH time, I still think United can win the league next season.

Yeah absolute rubbish from Gary as usual
Amorim said no 😂
Liverpool's 3rd choice seems superior to Utd's 'stuck with' choice
@@paulmacwales yeah but that's not what you want, you want to have someone who you believe can take you to the top level. You don't get rid of a manager and hire a stopgap. Then you have pay severance twice. They will be looking for someone else for sure.

Listen to that glorious crowd. Owning that back yard and owning it hard. Glorious.
Mate, if you can't see a style of play then you don't know anything about football. The style is clear as day. Are they good at it? No.
The manager definitely is not getting the most out of the squad.
game is over. you better than the manager 🤔
the players are rubbish and lazy and cannot be arsed and ten Hag needs to adapt his style for the prem.

Brooo
Ten hag should have been sacked last season. He's completely out of his depth, they've given him to much money for him to buy average players
