Amorim and his system will have to wait until the summer transfer window. Until then, he needs to adapt to get a tune out of these players otherwise he will be sacked. No manager worth their salt abandons their system for short term gain. Amorim understands that the team is in a rebuilding phase and they must learn this new system or leave. He can't abandon his tactics in favor of a system that the players better understand but cannot be coached well on.

Teams like Newcastle, Forest, Fulham, Bournemouth have really opened up this league. Teams like Man U and Spurs need a much better 2nd half of the season
All the so-called lesser teams have been improving for the past few seasons now. They are able to spend a bit more money than they used to because of sky. Then these foreign managers coming in know what way to play, especially against the top teams. They can sit back and counter attack. But also play some lovely ball. Which imo makes it harder now to win the league itself.

As a lifelong Newcastle United supporter, I know only too well what's it's like on the losing and demoralising end of things. We've had it for long periods, especially under Mike Ashley, when things were grim with a capital G. Man Utd have a great history behind them, and they will be great again. They've had loads of success. Newcastle are now having their day in the sun, and long may it last. After decades and decades of disappointment, they may now win some silverware. United will bounce back, it may take some time, but they will be back on top again.
Yes, the players deserve to be blamed, but what about the new ownership? Cutting down on good people who have been at the club for ages, increasing ticket prices, firing the director of football after chasing him for 18 months, firing a manager who had just signed an extension, hiring a new manager, and then not giving him any funds to spend in January. This is a shambles! The Glazers were a joke, but come on - this is a historical low point, and Ineos needs to be called out.
@@craigfoulkes I meant point deduction from United. If our revenue for this season is too low and we are not able to meet FFP rules, we might get point deduction. There is a reason they've been scraping to cut costs everywhere, even on charity. City is a different conversation. I hope we will finally get clarity on that.
Losing football games is one thing. Cutting jobs, the stadium continuing to rot and charitable foundations being starved with no forewarning is another issue entirely which is a far more troubling sign for the future of Man Utd. I’m not a fan of the club, but seeing an institution like this losing all the soul that made it a special rival in the first place is pretty a pretty sad sight.
A Chelsea fan buys a stake in the club, gets into bed with the glazers, starts dismantling the foundations of trust while maintaining his wealth at the expense of the "little people". And people think he's going to be the answer, him and his cycling chums can FO out of our club
Truth is this is United without Busby or Ferguson in charge, outside of their times in charge, United have always been mess, their is no soul within the club, it was with Busby and Ferguson, and left when they did.
Happy New Year bro. At the moment, it seems like the footballing gods are on our side. Utd’s downfall is the cherry on the cake. Mind you, I still lose sleep over the Forest result. 👍
@@christochrysostomou106 United are not where they are today because of “pride” 😂 if it was that simplistic, they’d be fine now cause none of those players have shown any pride their problems are much more tangible than “pride” 😂
As a Newcastle fan, the player I didn’t want to see on the pitch last night for Man U was Rashford. For whatever reason they won’t play him but as soon as I saw that team with Maguire, Martinez, Onana, Casemiro and Erikson I knew we’d win. Took us 20 mins to end that game and then sit back and hold the lead
I said so at the time. They desperately needed his money to buy Ugarte for too much money, which is why he was pushed out. Ashworth is gone, but I also have major doubts about Berrada who not only signed off on 5 mostly very poor deals to buy players, but also poor deals to sell players like Pellestri for just 5m. He has landed us in PSR trouble, which means Amorim can't be adequately supported in the transfer market.
Plenty of people questioned the Man Utd signings in the summer. Each of them had question marks over them. Obviously Gary wasn't paying attention, listening or looking with a critical eye but questions were definitely raised. Yoro was a well rated youngster but was it too early and did he have the experience to step into a top team back line? De Ligt was experienced but had never really established himself as the top CB at either of the previously 2 clubs he was at so if they were happy to sell him why would he be good enough for Man Utd? Mazraoui was seen as decent but was he really anything more than a squad player who could elevate the starting 11? Utd almost got him in a cut price deal along with De Ligt so why were Bayern happy to do that? Zirkzee had very little to indicate he was a top level player or the history to suggest he would become one, where would he play and was he just another Ten Hag connected player that would be found out at the top level (same connection Ten Hag had with De Light and Mazraouri which from previous signings was clearly the wrong way to go)? Every signing has question marks. Even the Salah, Rodri, Palmer, Isak, whoever is currently seen as a high performer and top player have question marks when they come in. Can they step up? Are they worth the price tag? Do they improve the team? etc. To say no one had question marks over the summer signings is completely inaccurate especially when they had some very clear questions to answer which could turn to clear alarm bells which we are now starting to see.
@@conorcahill5422 Yeh true. Too many control freaks behind the scenes that havent been good enough. All the Glazers / Woodward needed to do was hire a top DoF and Head of Recruitment.

I hear all this “we will have to suffer for a while” nonsense. Tell me one thing Amorim has improved since arriving? Shouldn’t there be some sign of improvement after all these games?
Another deluded utd comment. Is there something in Londons water supply that has them all speaking total hogwash lmao You expect signs of improvement with a squad like that and with a manager who was given an ultimatum to join the club Utd have botched this for years, not amorim.
@ with all due respect to Amorim, I don’t think he realised how intense premier league is. Every team is going at you. He comes from a league where there’s 3 or 4 teams competing really and that’s it. Yes, he’s done great job at Sporting but United isn’t in a position where they can try out new things for few months and give time to manager to learn the ways of the league.
Amorim has a system he believes in, but doesn't have the players to do it. It will be fatally dogmatic for a manager to continue trying to put square pegs in round holes if it ends up in the chance of relegation. Utd need to be setup to just get results and points with the resources they have. Park the bus if needed. The system can wait once survival is achieved and the right players are in place. By the time the system actually achieves anything they couod be in the championship.
Wow! Ur a selfish, delusional united fan. If he gives up on his philosophy, he will be a Ten Hag. And we all know how that ended. Get relegated if need be, but inculcate the managers philosophy in the team and make players adapt to the new regime.
@zeus3086 I'm not a Utd fan. Villa fan actually. I'm just warning what can happen. We had the same thing under Remi Garde in 2016 where he wanted a system of play that we didn't have the players for and it got us relegated. It took 3 years to get back so we were lucky. Look at how long it took Leeds Utd and Nottingham Forest for decades.
*So go back to a system that wasn't working before. Where they couldn't win games. It doesn't matter what system you play these players are simply not good enough... As for Amorim, or anybody for that matter - Go against everything you believe in and go from the system that works for you to another system that doesn't work. Make it make sense... It's simple - If it looks like shxt. Smells like shxt. It's shxt! It's not rocket science. You polish dogshxt. It's still dogshxt. No matter what you do with it.*

I’m telling you now; United’s form is actually deeply concerning. If this rot is not stopped soon then they are dropping into a genuine relegation fight. And if you think your self proclaimed “biggest club in the world” we save you, then look at this squad. Do you trust these players?
@@AlexDeLarge77 They are unlikely to get anything at Anfield, so that home match against Southampton is looking very important now, especially as the teams below them (Everton, Palace, Wolves, Leicester, Ipswich) keep picking up points.
Right now gary no one can stop liverpool from winning the league you need to stop pushing Arsenal or Chelsea and give liverpool the credit they deserve, Forest are doing as well as both of these
Here’s the big question. Every Man Utd manager has recruited. Money was and has been made available at every transfer window. Is it possible for Amorim to buy players considering the massive amounts spent over last few years. When does FFP regulations come in and are United in breach?
Maybe better for them to be relegated amd start afresh. Nottingham Forest should be an example: 1. Man U are not run in a financially coherent manner, this is now catching up with them. It is not far off to see how they could easily become bankrupt. 2. Seven or more players earning over 150K per week. 3. Man U has no appeal to players around the world. Those days have long gone. 4. They should use several strong academy players. 5. They've made a financial loss on players, such as: Rashford, Casemiro, Antony, Mount, Shaw, Zirkzee, De Ligt etc. 6. The above would be good as a B team. 7. Amorim is too rigid with his formation as he does not have the players, and it doesn't look like Sir Jim Glazer is going to let off any money to buy players.
@@pauladdae3130 How can they make a financial loss on Rashford, Shaw, De Ligt and Zirkzee? Rashford's an academy product, Shaw cost £30M 10 years ago and the other 2 have only just been signed .
United have already breached by £74m but the league has brushed it under the carpet. Because it’s Man U. Different if it was Everton trying to build a stadium…..
The worrying thing for United fans is that there has been no new manager uplift this time. The previous occasions United have changed managers, there has been an uplift before things go sour, this time this have got worse straight away.
Nothing to respect. As a good pundit, when you get presented with new evidence, you hold your hand up and say you got it wrong. Not sticking to your prediction for the sake of pride and stubbornness.
I am absolutely loving this Utd downfall, how can Neville say the players brought in during the summer were going to be a step up only Utd fans were saying this! All rival fans were saying the opposite, overpaid for yoro and zikzee completely untried and untested in the prem, deligt flopped in both Italy and Germany but was expected to do well in the prem!! People saying ETH was not the problem, he signed almost the whole team!! 😂😂😂
Tonali s reading of the game is amazing, he intercepts loads of passes and just beats the opposition player, he has true pace and acceleration, superstar
Time to think about refreshing the content. The producers and pundits grew up in a time where Man Utd were relevant. Hourly content on a team struggling to be a mid table team doesnt make sense any more. Man Utd are part of the past now.
Not relevant? Are you that naive that you think they produce man united content because they like man united? They produce content which will attract engagement and man united attracts engagement; the club is far from being irrelevant.
At this point I wonder what if United had stuck with Moyes and rebuilt over a few years, where would they be now. Jumping to a new manager just because they aren’t getting top 2, top 4, top 6, top half clearly isn’t working.

Selling McTominay was a grave error
Amorim is doing his best to highlight the limitations of his squad. In that regard his time at United has been an unqualified success.

Spot on! Every metric is down and tonight only highlighted his shortcomings. Bet the dressing room is on edge too!!

Look at how long it took Leeds Utd and Nottingham Forest for decades.
If changing the pegs isn’t an option then all you can do is change the holes

Here’s the big question. Every Man Utd manager has recruited. Money was and has been made available at every transfer window.
Is it possible for Amorim to buy players considering the massive amounts spent over last few years. When does FFP regulations come in and are United in breach?
Maybe better for them to be relegated amd start afresh. Nottingham Forest should be an example:

Id love to see isaak at Liverpool. Not sure Newcastle would sell him to us. Given how inconsistent Nunez is it would be an absolute perfect fit.
No, Wolves was a low point. Here, you were just beaten by a much better team.
Judging by the look on his face at the beginning it looks like Gary regrets starting this podcast
At this moment in time
Imagine spending 100s of millions over the last few seasons and going into a game being certain you'd lose... At home.
Tonali s reading of the game is amazing, he intercepts loads of passes and just beats the opposition player, he has true pace and acceleration, superstar
Oh Neville please don't cry😂😂😂😂😂😂😂,,,,I'm loving this as a Liverpool fan
Time to think about refreshing the content. The producers and pundits grew up in a time where Man Utd were relevant.
Hourly content on a team struggling to be a mid table team doesnt make sense any more. Man Utd are part of the past now.

I'm not a United fan but they are a global brand. People will click on this and Sky will get ad revenue from views.
Yet here we are. Even as a Liverpool fan its ok to admit the "brand" is still very popular.
Still generate more clicks and comments than any club in the world. They're enormous
Not relevant? Are you that naive that you think they produce man united content because they like man united? They produce content which will attract engagement and man united attracts engagement; the club is far from being irrelevant.
It takes a 4 man defense to change the narrative. Will the coach understand?
Gary is talking like he knows how to manage.
Didn’t he predict a top four finish and claim this team is better than Liverpool at the start of the season?
At this point I wonder what if United had stuck with Moyes and rebuilt over a few years, where would they be now. Jumping to a new manager just because they aren’t getting top 2, top 4, top 6, top half clearly isn’t working.
Lol. I would argue that Moyes could be the solution. Bring DM back...now!
What if they'd bought Jose his Centre Back? They'd have won more trophies that's for sure!
