Dragonball slowly going from the end of Cell Saga style to what it has become now is a perfect example of testosterone lowering.
This is your greatest work of art, absolute cinema, absolute jujutsu.
I dont hate it but doesnt quite look as good as the end of Z in my opinion. Its more bulbousy and round and seemingly less detailed. Its like theyre slowly becoming more and more Chibi. Their heads are slowly getting bigger. Still looks cool tho.
I love the old art style, it gave the characters depth
I LOVE his new artstyle. It's so uniquely him, moreso than his old style due to others emulating it.
SAME BRO! The hype I get seeing him showcase his personal style is GODLY! Some of the games over the years had it for story or cutscenes
Doesn't Blue Dragon use Toriyama's modern art style?
Somewhat, it's definitely what I'd compare Daima to
Dragon quest does too
I honestly forgot that had an anime adaption 😅 @@Substantial-hf1rm
This is really is modern art style? That's wild! Then again I guess the boo saga style is insane to draw
I had always felt that dragon ball had looked quite bad nowadays but now I realised that it because modern anime just looks soooo good
I came to the same conclusion.
The best of DBZ still holds up really well against any new anime. Super’s art direction was shoddy. Only the movies really do the series any justice at all
Hell be able to enjoy it from heaven now, rest in peace and power Toriyama-Sensei, you have a truly eternal legacy. May we meet in otherworld someday.
The art style animation are amazing no one asked for this though
People were asking for this ngl.
I did
Toriyama wanted to do it.
No one asked for more lore about the demon realm and unexplored parts of universe 7? Where have you been?
Mark went super Saiyan or something
The art style isn't evolving it's devolving
Yeah, I think the Z era from Frieza - Android - Cell - Buu's saga artstyle was the peak of Toriyama's artstyle.
And we're not gonna see that anymore.
Absolutely
keep whining
What is wrong with yall? “devolving?” Like really? At this point just quit being a dragon ball and call it a day. Because you guys take the worse hot takes just because you grew up with nostalgic dragon ball z style.
@@simiansaiyan8162 thank you for common sense
As much as I love the Shintani artstyle I do love that this show is more focused on Toriyama’s modern artstyle and it’s also symbolic since this is sadly his last big production, may his soul rest in piece
I’m still salty about this being dragon ball babies, really reminds me of that era where every show would do a babies spin off
Looney Toons😂
Yall are not true db fans
And there not babies there kids learn the difference
@@Kam456G why do you get to decide that?
@TheLastGhostXN cuz I can and you'll know why toriyama wanted to do daima because he wanted to bring back the concept of og dragon ball
I love how they do the 3D in 2D thing like Kirby Right Back At Ya!
Cell arc was peak Toriayama art.
There’s no way I’m the only one completely disappointed with this and not looking forward to it at all. 40 years of character writing I want to see the progression. Not them as children.
I neither hate or like. DB to me nowadays is nothing but an action anime (not really a martial arts anymore, just semi coz most of them just throw punch tatatata!) I only interested on what new characters and villains that are gonna be introduced in the series, because you know all of that will be video game content in the future. It is refreshing to see DB games nowadays getting actual new characters instead of recycling the same characters over and over back in the days.
Yeah I’m highly disappointed. This just means we’ll have to wait even longer for the progression of the story.
@@shawziiz5031 ngl if the series itself is that irrelevant to you then the games should be the same. I’d rather have a fantastic series than a good game-and I’d only care about a good game if it came from a great series.
Old tenka-ichi budkokai are phenomenal. Other db games are just boring imo. Personally I don’t care about the new ones unless the series itself if good as well.
@@JDvb23 No. The game is different. The story can be meh, but game is up to us whether we have fun or not. Take example like GT, worst story but the characters, especially SS4, Baby and the evil Shenrons was always welcome in DB game. Budokai 3, Burst Limit, and FighterZ remain as the best DB game for me so far (since I'm a fans of fighting games), and I also casually enjoy Tenkaichi and Xenoverse series. That why I more excited to see what new characters and villains will be introduced. If the story is good, that a bonus.
Not the only one bro so far from what I've seen it's not gonna be for me either I want super part 2 but it's Dragonball people will like it and there's not much we can really do about a story we didn't make kid characters don't really interest me and the timeline of it doesn't interest me either but hey what are you gonna do
It’s something I noticed as well. And I’m so happy about it
Mildly infuriating that instead of another movie or a Moro arc adaptation we get Dragon Ball Babies, which for some inconceivable reason has a significantly higher production value than Super. I’m genuinely curious, who asked for this?
Super broly style is my favourite. This looks pretty amazing too.
I really dont want to watch dragonball babies like i watched muppet babies as a toddler.
Then watch it like an adult (an open mind)
It's not dragon ball babies Goofy
It's a breath of fresh air, that's for certain!
Gotta say, looking at those character sheets, I’m not really a fan of the modern Toriyama style. Something about it just seems weird. Probably the whole simultaneously chubby and lanky look, which admittedly should work fine for Daima specifically.
Definitely hate the obnoxious highlights though, especially in the hair. Looks so sterile and rigid. Nearly everything about the style does. Same reasons why modern Yamamuro is such an eyesore to look at.
We need this moving forward 🙏
Style wise. Not a fan. It's ok ill enjoy it but perfer the old style. Something about the proportion feel odd
I really don't like modern Toriyama design philosophy. Reminds me of how some of the magic of Pokemon was lost when chubby Pikachu was replaced by mascot Pikachu. Same thing happened to kid Goku.
Rest in peace Akira Toriyama, you'll never be forgotten 🙏
This isn't gonna save a bad premise
It's a non-canon spin-off celebrating 40 years of Dragon Ball. Who cares about the silly premise 🤣
@@RicPendragon Oh it's very likely canon. Tori is writing it
And a bad premise can't ruin good execution, a lot of dragon ball premises sound... questionable until you see it in action.
Tori writes a lot of supplementary non-canon spin-offs, for example, Neko Majin
@@Orangeninja5000
@@RicPendragon Daima is canon, it just happens to be in another timeline like future trunks is part of another timeline. Also canon doesn’t exist when it comes to dragon ball.
The Dragon Quest tones translate so well. I appreciate the effort to make this feel like a Dragon Ball offshoot instead of a replacement for Super

That's actually a really good point
And who better to do it than Nakatsaru?
The man Toriyama literally said can draw Dragon Ball better than he can.
A talented figure capable of mimicking Toriyama’s style perfectly.
You do know he stopped drawing during super and just gave the artist plot points
Not true. He designed many of the characters himself
? These were all Toyotaro's drawings, the one who worked under Toriyama and now holds his candle.
Rest in Peace Toriyama Sensei, Hope you keep on Flying up there in heaven!
I absolutely love this art style he is my favorite artist i instantly fell in love with dragon ball and as well dragon quest as he did the art/character design for those
