Hey Ben congratulations on your marriage!, She is beautiful and can tell she loves you alot . Great to see you are back to making videos again. Keep up the good work.....Bob
Totally heartwarming video. Wow I didn't realize these planes had variable pitch props. It's INSANE how ahead of its time this plane was. Didn't realize your dog was in it! More dog next time!
Hi Ben!! I have been a subscriber and follower of your channel for quite some time now. I absolutely love your videos and I am inspired to see the love and joy that you have for aviation!!! You have great content!!! Keep up the great work my friend, looking fwd to seeing your next video and Congrats on your Anniversary!!!😊You have a very beautiful and lovely wife. Take care and fly safe.
Glad to see you’re doing well Ben! I basically grew up in the back of a bonanza and am currently taking steps to get my license. Seeing these videos of you flying these planes keeps me motivated to work towards my goal of one day having another bonanza to share with my family in the future as my father sold his v-tail in 2016.
Sorry to hear that your father sold his bonanza, but it’s great to hear that you are pursuing your license! Stay diligent, and you can’t make your goal a reality. Thanks for watching!
@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot you got it 😅! We’ve already got some future plans to do away with the red! We were going to see how well the red will shine up for a while but my father and I are hoping to update the avionics and put some new paint on it in the future.
Ben, Are you sure that was the runway? It looked like it might have been the taxiway...Ha... That is the narrowest running that I have ever seen. I've seen sidewalks wider. It's good to see that you are making videos again. Congratulations on Your Marriage. Best wishes! Blue Skies! Faithfully, James
The painted one sold about a year ago (much to my sadness as I had hoped we would put it back together and get it flying). The unpainted plane has been faithfully parked back in the corner of the hangar donating parts to other bonanzas so that they can keep on flying. Don’t think she’ll ever fly again. Meanwhile we picked up a C35 that my mother in law bought, and her friend recently purchased a 1947 model 35. Up to our ears in bonanzas over here, but haven’t quite had a chance to post updates with how busy school has been.
At the end, I noticed your dog-Jack Russell? Does it enjoy flying? Too mine twice, and she looked out a lot. Your plane has no paint on left aileron and flap. I read-did mine on the left as well. Lots of work, to get filaform off magnesium, special treatment prime paint balance
Very observant, David! Little Thor is still undecided about flying. He doesn’t love the noise and the bumps, but he really loves getting to all the places that we go to. If given a choice between climbing in the plane for an adventure or staying on the ground, he would choose the plane every time. All of the control surfaces on my dads plane are stripped (some bits of paint on the ruddervators won’t even come off) and we treat them 2-3 times a year with boeshield T9 spray to prevent corrosion. The T9 formula dries into a wax that repels water and does not collect dirt and grime. We’ve been very happy with the results.
Yup! Boeshield T9 is a spray oil anti corrosive developed by Boeing that dries to a waxy finish that repels water and dirt. Very useful on bare metal that is a corrosion concern.
Yeah the handheld mic is wired separate. The radio audio comes through the headsets but only the handheld mic transmits. Wouldn’t be hard to wire up a ptt button, but I gotta admit I kinda like the handheld mic. Lol
@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot I see. Well if you fix it so it transmits thru you headset mic you will get use it pretty quick and.never go back. I saw you a few times scrambling to find the mic so you can respond to communications. Either way thank you for sharing.
Yeah if I ever decided to pursue my instrument in old Bonnie, I’d have to revamp the radio situation for sure. It’s pretty annoying only having one frequency with no back up frequency. It’s all very charming in a dysfunctional kind of way.
Great video. Hopefully we will see more flight videos.

Really enjoyed this one Ben, probably my favorite one you've done! Congrats on your license and Happy Anniversary!!

@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot Came to a deal this weekend on a 1950 B35 out of the Mt.Pleasant, Tx area!
@@crazedisme9666 great to hear! Is it a red one? I think I saw that plane listed on Barnstormers. Looked like a nice plane minus the red paint job.

Thanks, James! It was a tiny runway for sure. No problem for ole Bonnie though!
Didn’t know little Thor was back there until the very end, he looks so chill about flying 😂
Yeah he usually just chills back there. Lol he does not like turbulence though. 😂
Anything ever come of those two Texas bonanzas?

Ps, very nice that you asked about HER😊. Interesting to hear about those behind these you tube sensations! Maybe I’ll be next? NOT!
Haha, yeah I figured my subscribers had heard about enough about me, so this video was for my wife. She’s a lot more interesting than I am.
Missed your videos Ben, looks like your WD40 is still working well on your control surfaces.
Haha I’ve upgraded to Boeshield, but it is still working well! Apply it about 3 times a year and narry a spec of corrosion on any of the magnesium.

Either one works good. 👌
@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot whoa…! What’s this magic you speak of? I have never heard of this. Sounds like some a bonanza owner should have on hand though.

@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot hard to see - is your Comm a round one in the panel? Trig makes one like that with a standby freq.
Yeah it’s an old narco escort 2. Works really well minus having only one frequency. I really like the small panel footprint.
