Merry Christmas, everyone, and a happy new year! Let me know what tool you want to hear about on the next Tool Tuesday. The links to the strut pumps are in the description. I should clarify that the floor strut pump is actually made by a Japanese company, not a Chinese company. That would explain the increased quality. See you all on Episode 1 of Maintenance Monday where we talk about strut maintenance!
Merry Christmas Ben! ✝🎅🎄At some point, I wouldn't mind seeing a segment about the Beech Jack, so those who haven't heard of it can be made aware of just how handy they are. I have a friend who has both a Bonanza and a 55 Baron, and he's lucky enough to have one of the original factory cradle jacks, which were used during aircraft production. While those jacks are rare, there are other versions/clones that have been designed and built out there. I currently have a copy of the plans by the late Chuck Roberts, which I'm considering having built this coming year when I purchase my Bonanza. The Beech Jack in my experience, is far superior for lifting up Bonanzas/Barons, because of how stable it is, so you won't ever have the experience of your plane falling off the jacks. The Beech Jack also has wheels on it, so you can actually move the airplane around the shop while it's suspended by the jack. I'm looking forward to future installments of your new series.👍
@lesb3481 that’s a great idea! I don’t have one of those, but if I can get access to one, I could definitely make a video on it. Definitely sturdier than using floor jacks and a tail stand. Only drawback seems to be the huge footprint it takes up in the hangar.
@@BenWeeksBonanzaPilot I use the one in my shop but I'm the only one that uses it. Moving and storing it is an issue when there are multiple aircraft stuffed in a shop.
love what u do for the bonanza community!! Best video yet!! lol serious note your videos are very informative. definitely a wealth of knowledge in these old planes!
We use a nitrogen bottle. It's a little tricky the first couple of times. Don't try it in a high low hanger! If there was a video it would have been good! Fortunately, there was no damage, but those struts will stay down with more than enough pressure then boing, up they go to the top. It's good to know about those pumps! I didn't even know they would work. When you do the strut rebuild, I will comment about a cap blowing off.
The larger strut pump is a must have in my opinion. We have already used it more in the 4 months I’ve had it than the rest of the small hand pumps combined.
They are technically pointing away from you when flying. If they blow out, they blow out through the top. Does make you think though when you’re fiddling around trying to get the fitting screwed on in the gear well.

The man, the myth, the legend! We should call this strut pump set up the “Aaron Special” in your honor!
Cool little video series. I’ll be looking forward to the rest of your other ones
I’m excited to share more tips and tricks!

This will be an absolutely great series. Already adding to my shopping cart.

1000 psi! I had no idea they were that high. Glad to know they pointing right at me while flying. 80 bucks way better then 600. Thanks for the info

Thanks Ben, great find on the pump
I hope it works good for you!
Excellent.
Thanks!
Great video
Thanks! Hope you find it useful!
Did you take down the video where you hit the tree tops and then your dad yelled at you? I especially liked that one
That one is still up.
There’s also a short that just shows the tree collision.
Oh my lord Aaron’s head is big enough, this will probably make it explode. You should have gave me the credit for it just to get his goat😂
It pained me so much to give him credit! Honestly though I am so impressed with how well the pump works though. A really great find.
