I took the compressor on my car apart and its very interesting. The high pressure side holds the oil in a tiny sump and also the high pressure forces the oil into the bearings and such. There are some baffles to keep as much oil in the compressor. Explains why they survive just fine on low refrigerant and propane and all that crazy stuff.
Great find. Most people just simply aren't curious enough anymore to find good learnings for things, like compressors for example. You'd be surprised at the things you can learn/find with a little curiosity!
Hey I have one of these on my jeep for on board air, however, when the clutch engages it squeals something fierce. Is it the compressor to the clutch assembly to you think?
Is it belt squeal or can you tell if it's metal on metal squeal? Does it still output air? Could be a couple different things, but if it's a constant squeal I'm thinking the clutch gap is out of spec, or your pump internals are seizing up causing extra resistance.
Did you post onto the public fb forum yesterday about this? If so I commented on your post. My names Donnie. Shoot me a message there I can help as best as I can
I wanna say 10-32 was the size. I added loctite 545 to seal threads just to help minimize the oil going by, but with only one ring per piston some small oil potentially has a path to get out.
@@allaspects3866...can oil be filled through the bleeder port? I’m using it for the air conditioning system. I drained the oil through the bleeder valve, also through the side plugs. I put some oil in the bleeder port and it didn’t go in easily about a couple once’s and it is coming out the discharge port. Can you tell me if this is good or bad for the air conditioning system,is it supposed to ?

Widescreen man...turn your phone for widescreen. That's the way videos are done
What type of oil to put in it? How much?
Only use non detergent 30w compressor oil. 8oz max.
I love OBA systems .. can you tell me more about the screw size to stop the oil from passing.

Is it good to mount it vertically r horizontal??
Yes you can, you just have to make sure the suction side is on top when mounting horizontal.
How many aaahm's did he say??
...aaahm🌝
Horizontal mounting r vertical? Which is best
Would recommend horizontal if you have the space. Easier to check oil level
Can you link the fb group? I posted earlier but for some reason it didn’t save
My name is Donnie Fore on fb I don't have a group. Just have to find and message me there

@@jeffkenyon483 would definitely not recommend adding oil in any other area other than the plugs on the side designated for that.
Nice
What oil catch /filter works the best?
I personally run a SMC brand water trap, it does good for catching moisture/oil buildup if it is not excessive.
