Appreciate Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard about - Loowarn Inconceivable Desire (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off guide for stopping diabetes type 2 without the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my m8 after many years got excellent results with it.
How much starch/carbohydrates did they feed them to get overweight? (1 bowl = 130 calories) 10 bowls of white rice in a day is 1300 calories. And you are still calorie deficient below the 2200-2400 daily calorie. That's 3 bowls of rice in the morning, 3 bowls of rice at lunch and 4 bowls of rice for dinner.
A year ago a CT scan diagnosed me with a severe fatty liver. My scan this week, a year later and after a year on keto simply noted: "upper abdomen unremarkable". No more fatty liver.
I just got diagnosed with this today after getting pain in the liver area for the past few months. To all those who have just been diagnosed with the same, I wish you all the best. Let’s beat this and turn this around!

having fatty liver for over 25 years until 5 years ago it was reported to be severe. With low carb and intermittent fasting lost over 15kg now all the AST, ALT and GGT is back in normal range and no sign of fatty liver , thanks Dr. Fung 🙏
I was a teen in the late 1970's and most all of my friends drank either Coke or Pepsi. I distinctly remember the summer when all of the big soda companies switched from sugar to high fructose corn sweetener. We all noticed that Coke and Pepsi had a slightly different taste. The crazy thing is, those dates corelate with the increase in fatty liver disease from your chart.
A bigger problem is the food industry and the lack of proper nutrition training for docs (they’re still based on old studies). Another huge problem would be patient compliance. Most people won’t do what they need to if it means giving up bad habits. They’d rather pop a pill. My mother is like that.
Yes, free! Fasting means eating less food in total. Also, the food industry keeps trying to overfed us. "Supersize...upsize" . Family blocks of chocolate have become daily snacks instead of occasional festive treats and have grown exponentially in size ;). Soda drinks sizes, movie theatre popcorn buckets, triple meat burgers et cetera.
@@aclassmedicine3306 Check the BBC documentary "The Men Who MadeUs Fat" talks about the food industry putting in fat sugar and salt into food which causes food addiction. Evil Big Pharma is keeping men alive into their 80s rather then dying at 62 like in the 60’s 70’s 80’s!!!! I bet you hate evil Corporations as well. Such An ignorant comment !!!
God bless you Dr. Fung for the important information you freely give! Over a year ago, I had a fatty liver, was pre-diabetic, & cholesterol over 500. I found out about you through another YT channel called, "Beat Diabetes" & today, I am no longer pre-diabetic, my liver is healthy, & my cholesterol is down to 220! Praise God! Changing to a low carb eating style with intermittent fasting has dramatically changed my life! Thank you!
My mother cried with happiness after seeing this video. She has had NAFLD for 35 years and doctors told her not to worry about it and ignored it. Now, the disease has progressed. Thanks to Dr Fung she now knows to avoid fructose and how the disease developed. Thank you! 🙏🏻
People say they want more healthcare providers like Dr Fung, but two of my friends got in trouble for recommending fasting to their patients. One in particular, a nurse practitioner, was FIRED after a couple went and complained about him recommending fasting. The thing about it is that he is so caring and knowledgeable. I couldn’t believe it. I told him to open a practice or join a more supportive practice. Bottom line is that some people can’t fathom not stuffing their faces every hour of the day and prefer western medicine. What a shame!
As I listen on other TH-cam, doctors cannot recommend fasting...they do get in trouble...so backward...I think it is because fasting is starving the body and as a dr cannot recommend patients to starve...yeah go figure...
@@tienngo9993 - I believe the issue is that industry and pharma leading guidance. Is in the sense of pushing medicine and their own products one way or another! Government guides made by people with direct interest in the outcome! They sponsor conferences, medical seminars and a vast etc. for what?! To push their products! Up selling. It's that simple! Big pharma still "invite" MD to seminars in vacation paradise's! Covering full expenses for a couple of weeks! What's the return? I guess we all know! ;-) Personally I believe that's on the verge of criminal behavior, but I'm no one!
Thanks Jason! As a fellow physician and one who put on weight and likely had some fatty liver from the pandemic, I'm happy to inform you that intermittent fasting was a simple change to my life that has reversed my concerns in a matter of weeks. Knowing that Fructose goes straight to the liver (unlike any other ose) to congest the liver to induce fat gain in mammals before hibernation- where does fruit fit in to a low carb lifestyle
@douglasmark8949 did you do keto by chance?? I was just diagnosed and I am fasting but haven't gone full keto yet. Just wanted to know how you did yours?? Thanks
The "pandemic" made you put on weight or caused your fatty liver? ??? Start taking responsibility for your actions, that is the cure! I learned that little secret three years ago and reversed all my health problems. Even through he "pandemic", I lost 45 lbs and reached my goal. I am 78 yo.
I have been following Dr. Fung's suggestions for about 1 year. Most of my diabetic symptoms were gone in 10 weeks. But, I suppose that my insulin resistance is still a problem. When I relapse and eat a high carb meal, my fasting glucose level become elevated and stays elevated for about 1 week. On a more positive note, during my last annual checkup, my a1c and fasting glucose level are no longer considered diabetic or even prediabetic. So, I guest I am managing my condition well. I think I have a lot more work ahead of me. For people who are starting their journey, I would suggest patience.
@@julianasalleh3304 I was on high blood pressure meds for half a year before getting diabetes. That totally freaked me out. Then I ran of an OMAD diet and exercised every morning. In 10 weeks, most of the diabetic symptoms went away. My BP dropped by about 50%. I am not on any medication right now.
I developed fatty liver two years back. Was searching for solution. I came across dr. Fung on you tube. And miracle happened. I had grade 2 fatty liver. Today I have a healthy liver. Thanks to dr. Fung. It all happened because of him. Love you doctor 💜
@@hischild3759 Hey! I followed intermittent fasting, 16:8 pattern and continued a 40 min regular walking routine ...cutting down wheat totally and having a small amount of rice helped! Most importantly "just throw away refined vegetable oil and start using coconut oil or pure Ghee and apple cider vinegar (with the mother)" Hope this helps.💚
During my regular check-ups and related blood tests for about 15 years doctors have been remarking, "hmmm, looks like you have a fatty liver. Are you a heavy drinker?" When the answer was no, and I asked what was causing it, they would say, 'hmm, don't know. Well, there's no problem so just let me know if you do develop a problem." Then they would go on to comment that I had high triglycerides. I would ask why that is since I had adjusted my diet to reduce fat intake. "Hmmm, don't know." And they were happy I was eating more rice and pasta in place of meat. And so on, through the development of pre-diabetes up to the brink of diabetes. Thank goodness for the information available on youtube. I'm addressing the problems myself with the help of guys like Dr. Fung.
I totally relate with that! I also went trough the pre-diabetes...diabetes odyssey! Without a single word of advise regarding high carbs, etc. The ONLY thing was pills and more pills! This went for a few years! Until the absolutely null results. In fact not just null results, I was getting worse!! Lead me to try and find an answer. In this case on the internet. Dr. Fung videos came to the rescue and, and, and... Intermittent fasting and Keto= NO diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. It's that simple, cheap, fast and extremely effective! What's not to like it?! LOL 😂 Without some real expertise guidance. I continued doing the "traditional" diet. With all the carbs/starch, etc. Just like millions others, I was killing myself one bite at a time! Without knowing!
Same here, same problems, same reactions from MD's. Realized that most doctors only know what Big Pharma tells them. (I was a nurse for 47 years) Doctors used to treat diseases/illnesses - now they only treat symptoms ("There is a pill for that!") I brought that up with my internist, who admitted that I was correct. However, she is one of the rebel doctors who does not buy into all the Big Pharma hype - she told me that I could reverse my type 2 DM with a proper keto diet, and has recmmended various herbal products for other health concerns, some of which she uses herself. A rare doctor in this day and age!
I have cut all carbs with low sugar since Dec 2020, I see significant change. Not only I lost weight but the blood sugar level is lowered too. I also practice intermittent fasting. Trust me! It all works out well👍😃
My SGOT was 100 (normal range 0-40) and my SGPT is 115 (normal range 0-44) doctor diagnosed me a very serious fatty liver. I did fasting for 3 months (18-6) I avoided very sweet fruits and carbohydrates. I just eat more meats and fats, eggs, vegetables, fish and fish fats. Last week I got my blood test results. It’s amazing! My sgot now is 15 and my sgpt is 18. Also my A1c from 7.8 to 5.7. Everything back to normal my vision back to 20/20. Thank you Lord.

Hi Doc Fung, I'm from Nigeria. Eating very low carb and intermittent fasting has helped me a lot. I was 135kg about 4 months ago, now I weigh 115kg. My blood sugar is gradually obeying too and my BP is now fully obedient. Thank you
10/02/20 my AST and ALT levels were 159 and 150 (normal levels are 0-41). Drs told me I had NAFLD. 😳 I stopped eating starchy carbs and refined carbs/sugars, I even stopped eating fruit. Started eating more veggies. On 4/29/21 my liver blood labs came back and are now 22 and 29. 😄 Thank you Dr. Fung.
I was diagnosed with a severe fatty liver, my doctor would like to put me on medication and I asked her if she could give me three months to try and get it back to normal. She agreed so I have been fasting as well as doing OMAD. Wish me luck. I do not want to be on medication of any kind. Also, I am not diabetic.
Who on earth would down vote this video? Insanity! Thank you Dr. Fung. Your teaching is so helpful and is making a difference in the world--it did in my life.
If it shows up in a person's feed unrequested they can give a thumbs down so that health/diet videos are not suggested to them again. A "thumb's down" still counts in a good way for Dr. Fung's metrics in the algorithm; it doesn't harm his ratings. 🙂👍
1% down votes are the absolute minimum that I have seen. Probably accidental clicks. I myself have accidentally clicked thumbs down. Great content by Dr Fung. His book is very good too!
Went from pre-diabetic to having absurdly good bloodwork in eight months, all thanks to Dr. Fung. I started following his advice from his TH-cam channel. OMAD and the occasional 40-60 hr fast have done wonders. I’ve also lost weight (35 lb), which is cool, too!
I was pre-diabetic and went on a pre-diabetic diet. Basically, no red meat, plenty of veggies and fruit. I quickly lost weight and my A1C dropped dramatically, in 6 months.
My sister was taken away from me by this disease. People, don´t normalize obesity, don´t encourage people to have bad eating habits, this is really serious and in the final stages it hurts so much because the person that you love does not look the same, it´s like they´re disintegrating while alive (and it really is that).
Truly sorry... so true obesity is looked upon as the person is to blame when too many obese people would be suffering through egos filling up pockets and not the truth like on here...
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm trying so hard to be a good example of health for my loved ones but preaching at them just seems to make them more defensive. It is truly sad. 😢
2months back I diagnosed with grade 1 fatty liver and hepatomegaly. Then I switched to intermittent fasting. 16:8 or more. And Cut off oil food only. Yesterday I took liver function test and ultrasound. Touchwood my all reports are normal. Intermittent fasting really helps for liver issues. I'm going to continue this lifestyle forever.
Two more wonderful doctors are Dr Rob Cywes and Dr Ken Berry. They are just like Dr Fung and advocates for LCHF / Keto / Carnivore / IF way of life. Listenibg to these three has opened my eyes ! Check them out on here.
I enjoyed it immensely. Moreover, Fung's advice has radically changed my life. Consistent intermitant fasting and one meal a day without bread, rice and wheat 🌾 products has ravaged my body fat, greatly reduced pain and artiritic inflammation, filled me to the brim with more balanced, positive energy, clearer thinking and made me feel young again. Thank you Jason for sharing your expertise and insight. I am indebted.
I was diagnosed with NASH IN December '22 I weighed 246lbs. I started a low carb carnivore diet and fasting 18hrs 5 days a week. After several liver scan since I've reduced my early signs of cirrhosis and my weight down to 194lbs. I had hepatitis b as a youth and found I also had hepatitis c in 2005. Not good, but thanks to the infectious disease clinic at the VA I got the treatment for c and prevented the resurgence of the b virus. While I not out of the woods, I'm doing pretty darn good and may be able to avoid a liver transplant.

Please, please take heed of this, I was told I had fatty liver years ago, did not know anything about it and basically just carried on. Well then I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, oh ok, and carried on. Now , years down the track I find I have cancer of the liver, too old and not fit enough for surgery so will be getting some treatment, but have been warned, because of the cirrhosis, it will recur. Dr Fung, where were you when I needed you ??😐Thank you Dr Fung for helping so many lives !!!
Months ago I had bloodwork done for a checkup. I’m overweight (I’ll be 48 next month) and wanted to start taking care of myself. My triglycerides and liver enzymes were all in the normal range. Recently, I’ve been having discomfort on my right side and having issues with laying and sleeping on that side. I knew I had gallstones for years, but was worried something more was going on. I asked my dr for a complete abdominal ultrasound. I found out through the ultrasound that I have a non alcoholic fatty liver! The blood tests were not accurate. I am planning on fasting, trying to clean up my diet, herbs and acupuncture etc. I wanted share this in hopes someone sees this and gets an ultrasound. Also if you are 45 and over please get a carotid artery ultrasound. It’s super important to see how much plaque is in your system. Especially going to your brain. I found out my right carotid is actually slightly twisted and there is some plaque. The American diet is killing us. Fasting and clean eating are the answer
Thank you for this information. 8 months ago I was overweight, always felt tired and weak till I came across your videos on IF. I have lost 9 kgs, I feel better and all those body aches have gone.
Very important note as Dr. Fung points out:. Slender people develop fatty liver too. From the intake of carbohydrates at high levels. You must be careful not to stuff children with candy / other carbohydrates or you'll burn out the B cells in the pancreas and then they can develop type 1 diabetes. As well many adults have been developing type 1 as well. Our Liver is a major hub of us being healthy. 16+ hours a day of fasting is a good start to reversing NAFLD. Also, I eat lots of chia seeds. It helps. Thanks for reading. Peace.

Back on intermittent fasting. My body loves it. I've lost one dress size in the past month. I'm hoping for two more dress sizes so I can wear all my clothes again. These videos keep me motivated. I'm not in a rush. Slow and steady is the way. Something I can sustain long term. Will start adding exercise soon.
I've tried IF, but I get SO hungry. What do you do to get hunger off your mind? I'm a stay at home mom so I'm always home, most of the time, and have the kitchen/food at my disposal all day. It's so hard to feel hungry.
Finding things to do around the house is working for me. Clean everyday and use it as your exercise. It will take your mind off eating and help you with exercise.
I’m here listening to Dr Fung as I have been told I have a fatty liver. Not that high, but that was enough for me to do something about it . I listen to many of Dr Fungs videos, he’s the very best . Thanks Dr Fung.
Thanks for all your information on Fatty livers. I am 73 yo and now on a low Carb diet and my weight is going down. I was 206 pounds and now down to 196 pounds in 2 weeks time. First goal is to get below 190 pounds. I have cut out sugars-deserts and starches-bread and seems to work very well. But I also do just light to moderate exercising daily. So losing weight seems to work so far. take care.
Do NOT listen to Eric Berg. He'll clickbait you and have you eating 11 cups of veggies per day, which is much too much. Listen to Drs. Eric Westman, Ben Bikman, Paul Mason. My two favorites are Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek, though they may be a little academic for many people. Same with Robert Lustig and Richard Johnson. I'm personally fascinated by the physiology and biochem.

A low-carb diet primarily focuses on reducing carbohydrate intake and emphasizes foods that are relatively lower in carbohydrates. Some common low-carb diet foods include: 1. Lean proteins: Chicken, turkey, beef, pork, fish, seafood, tofu, and eggs. 2. Non-starchy vegetables: Leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, zucchini, asparagus, cucumbers, and Brussels sprouts. 3. Healthy fats: Avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, nuts, seeds, and full-fat dairy products (in moderation). 4. Berries: Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries (in moderation). 5. Legumes: Lentils, chickpeas, black beans, and kidney beans (in controlled amounts). 6. Low-carb fruits: Lemons, limes, and small portions of berries. 7. Nuts and seeds: Almonds, walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseeds, and pumpkin seeds (in moderation). 8. Dairy products: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and hard cheeses (choose full-fat options if tolerated). 9. Healthy beverages: Water, herbal tea, unsweetened coffee, and sparkling water. 10. Herbs, spices, and seasonings: These can add flavor to low-carb meals without adding significant carbs.

@@SimonWoodburyForget I don’t agree, eating everything you want anytime you want just isn’t healthy. My body has normalized at this point, I know what it needs and can act if it goes sideways. Our believes on food are always ingrained with commercials interests or based on old believes and traditions. For instance, the patato was imported into Europe from America’s in the mid 1500’s because it’s unrivalled nutritional value and it’s relative easiness to cultivate. It saved people from famine and has taken a center place in nutrition. Today in our world of abundance and sedentary lifestyle it is still deemed absolutely important but isn’t really necessary anymore. So is understanding how your body works a cure or a treatement? At the minimum it’s knowledge, but I feel cured nonetheless.
@@SimonWoodburyForget You are just very lucky to be ''genetically balanced'' that allows you to eat all that and be sedentary too. I have a sister like you, she eats more than I do, never exercises, never gains weight. I was not so lucky. I was born with a belly, I do not remember a time I did not have a big round belly. Nothing, I did helped, to this day.
He’s telling the truth. Just two months ago I went and had my blood work done and the Dr said I had a fatty liver, it was 135. Just for the record. Dr. Fung videos were the first I found when fighting diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol... Basically the modern epidemic assassin! I can say that the information he provided, literally, saved my life! Simple as that! Unfortunately my regular physician is a "pills" guy! The "best" he could offer me was the threat of insulin injections on top of more pills and that's it! Not a single word about high carbs, intermittent fasting, diet, etc. With this said. THANK YOU Dr. FUNG! ;-)
Thank you Dr. Fung for all you do!! I keep buying copies of your books and handing them out to my friends cuz I'm a nerd like that 😂 You're getting us all back to nutritional reality!
Since type 2 diabetes or prediabetes is nearly always precipitated by NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease), if I had the power to rewrite the rules that govern the standard of care for all physicians who treat people who are diabetic or prediabetics I would: 1. Make it mandatory that all clinicians watch Dr. Fung's explanation of fatty liver 2. Insist that the FIRST line of treatment, BEFORE the dispensing of drugs, is to put the prediabetic or diabetic patient on a low carb diet in conjunction with an intermittent fasting protocol 3. I would make the non-compliance by doctors of the first two directives tantamount to medical malpractice. That is how important this concept is.
The problem is that doctors NEVER care about your diet. They see a symptom, treat it, then send you home. Meanwhile the actual problem is ignored and getting worse. You would think that nutrition would be part of medical courses and a big part of the job... but it's not. In fact many doctors themselves are overweight. They can't even take care of themselves, yet they are being trusted with others.
@@Drain_Life_Archive You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, I fear that the lack of nutritional training in medical school and continuing medical education is not the result of a mere oversight or mistake. I believe this is by design, as dietary solutions would put a major dent in Big Pharma's ability to capitalize off of sick people.

I did my blood test yesterday after 5 weeks of 100% no carbohydrates no sugar no fruits no starch no red meat diet. My Liver panel test result shown AST , ALT , GGT level all perfect! Far from its top range. Just 5 weeks. My fatty liver is reversed to healthy normal. I lost 4-5kg just from dieting and stop eating after 7pm till next day lunch. 2 meals a day. Only boiled using water, steam Fish, tofu, cabbage broccoli veggies, chicken breast, black coffee no sugar for afternoon lunch and green tea no sugar during evening dinner not later than 7pm. After 7pm I fast till next day lunch 12pm. The fasting time is extremely important as this time allows digestion and some hunger which makes our body burn the fat within without exercising. Exercising barely able to reach the fat around our liver. So fasting is the effective way. I had No milk (contain high and high sugar) . No snacks. No all kind of bread which still are carbohydrates. No omega fish oil. No cake. No biscuits. No rice. No noodles. No fruits especially as it's fructose are directly process only by our liver! Just 5 weeks and fatty liver is back to normal with proven liver function blood test compared to my previous test result 5 weeks ago. I feel very lively light and positive. I lost 5kg. Also My cholesterol and sugar level were also extremely good blood test result! I m looking way younger and my body is nicer too. I m 33 years old male. Non smoker non alcoholic. Didn't work in a toxic environment. I didn't exercise. But I ate much rice, fatty red meat, and milk and cookies and fruits. I slept late before. Now I kicked those bad habit n bad diet. After recovered from fatty liver, I continue my way of eating n fasting n sleeping time. I reintroduced some healthy carbohydrates back into my diet. Such as some corn carrot, some wheat bread, potatoes, some fruits, some rice. Remember not to take fruits everyday as fruits are high in fructose which cause diabetes. Please make sure u do not overdo it. I really mean only some. Lack of discipline and taking it for granted will cause regrets. Legalon supplement is useful as well. I'm sharing for mankind and for those who were helpless from useless doctors. And I'm sharing in memory of my late father who passed away due to end stage liver disease. Months later I did followed up on ultrasound and report shown my liver is perfectly healthy, also my kidney and pancreas and gallbladder. Since then I resume back to normal diet which include some fruits and carbohydrates. I continue to exclude fast food, oily and unhealthy food. Please bear in mind that fruits and carbohydrates must be consume in moderation. And fruits cannot be consume everyday to prevent diabetes! I have kept all my blood test and ultrasound comparing before and after report. And I will continue to test yearly.
Years ago had blood word for pre surgery, my family dr. scream at me you have a fatty liver WHY...looked at her puzzled, scared, back story Live in Pennsylvania Dutch area had been diet raised on such...thank you Dr.Fung....for sharing your God given talent to all.....
Many years ago when not paying attention to nutrition, I had an xray done and was told I had a very large liver. I asked why, as I wasn't a big drinker. Sugar and carbs wasn't even suggested as a reason. I wonder what my liver is like now with my OMAD and low carb eating habits.
Was not even suggested... ?!! Shocking I believe that that was the case with my very old mother in France 3 years ago: "she had a very big "cyste" in her liver". Could no longer eat normally, so big was her liver.. "white sugar, vegetable oils, white flower" after the war....
I've had similar results after ultrasounds and bloodwork. "Your liver has fat deposits, and your enzymes are elevated" but NO mention of NAFLD, or any suggestions of what to do. Just "keep an eye on it". This was at least 6 years ago but I've had evidence of metabolic syndrome for 30 years. Not one doctor has been concerned, blaming it on genetics.
Thanks Dr. Jason Fung! I agree. I was able to reverse my fatty liver by following a zero carb and IF. I bought and read also your books about cancer, diabetes and obesity. More power to you!
There is one variable that you may be missing here, and that's Choline. Choline is required to export fats from the liver. Choline deficiency has been shown to induce fatty liver on pretty much any diet in PEMT knockout mice (PEMT is the gene that allows us to produce a limited amount of choline indigenously). If you're low carb diet group ate more eggs, liver, or other choline rich foods, this might also account for the benefit. Dietary fat has to be exported through the liver in the same way, so I'm guessing that what the diet actually did was reduce overfeeding with some possible benefit from increased dietary choline.
Many of the medical web sites say cut back on eggs if diagnosed with NAFLD, but the wholistic web sites say eggs are ok, even beneficial for helping to reverse it. I raise chickens and get pasture raised organic eggs, so can I eat 2 a day?
Dr Fung I’ve learned so much from you. Big fan of fasting and and low carb. Why in the world did we switch to a high sugar diet for heart disease? It’s wrecked so many lives. If we ate and worked like our great grandparents we would be so much healthier. Ever notice that in the 1950’s obesity was a oddity? Now we have to be running between 80-90% overweight to obese. Keto is never going to leave.
I once had fatty liver. My job was very stressful, i had a very long commute to and from work in heavy traffic, i wasn't sleeping much. And i was eating fast food to save time. No symptoms, so my annual physical results on the liver enzyme tests was a shock. I immediately switched to black coffee (instead of the 3-in-1 from my company vendo), avoided soft drinks and juices etc. I moved to a less stressful job that didn't have a long commute. Took turmeric, started walking regularly and took yoga classes (coz i had more time to take care of myself). Reversed it in about 3 yrs i think (perhaps coz we are rice eaters and i didn't know about IF/keto yet). My insurance agent couldn't believe it and kept asking how i did it coz she rarely sees reversals. The phlegm i always had in my throat also went away after that. I always wondered why i didn't have a cold but felt like i had a low-grade fever a lot of the time.
@L. A. - which form of turmeric (and how much/how often) did you take? I’m searching for a good/bio available source now...😊 Two in supplement form I’m looking at are from ProCaps Labs (Andrew Lessman - I LOVE ❤️ their Hair, skin & nails vitamins) and Biotrust (have had great results with their multi-collagen powder) - but can’t seem to make a decision just yet. Would love to hear your experience with your form of turmeric!🙏🏼😊😊💕
This is so true Dr. Fung. I started drinking 60 ounces of smoothies (fruits & veggies) on a daily basis for a year and a half because I thought that was the healthy thing to do. At my annual I was told that i now had fatty liver. My doctor put me on a low carb diet, cut out sugars and high fat foods and I stopped drinking my smoothies. My liver numbers turned normal after about 8 months later. I also lost weight and my cholesterol went down as well. Great video and thank you!
Were you putting in a lot of high sugar fruits? Sugary milk? They have unsweetened milks such as almond and coconut milk use low sugar fruit if any wild unsweetened blueberries or blackberries good antioxidant
Dr. Jason Fung's book on fasting is a game changer folks. The Bible mentioned fasting quite a bit too. It's a time- tested and proven methodology. Give Dr. Fung's books to friends and family. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍 Thanks so much.

I am 37, had NAFLD for a few years watching it get worse and worse. I ate 5-6 times a day thinking it was healthy. Never skipping breakfast I was soooo hungry by 11 if I had no snack, that I would get a headache. Skipping lunch was unthinkable and I felt sleepy after it. I never liked heat but I noticed I started to feel so bad in hot summers I was no use for my family.I gained more and more weight, thing not extreme, 105kg by 1.9m tall. I finally decided to change after my last doctor visit. I started with healthy Keto, then added IF skipping breakfast. First with coffee plus mct oil, then just water. Now after 2 months I can skip breakfast and by lunchtime I really don't want to eat. I lost 10 kg in 2 months with no real exercise but the best part - I completely fixed my liver. ultrasound and blood tests confirmed all in norm. I can not believe this success and I feel so much better. I plan to keep going and gradually increase my activity. Big thank you to you Dr. Fung for what you do.
Im 37 too....I feel weird, sour stomach after eating and weird head feelings plus side aches...Please share your more symptoms or if you felt mine listed here. 🖤🖤🖤
I have reversed my type two diabetes following Jason Fung been off insulin and Metformin for 4 years. I am working on the fatty liver now. Had it for years
I know this well because I follow Dr. Fung because I have type 2 diabetes which I take care of with a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting of 14-15 hours between dinner and next day breakfast, but the message has to get out to people not aware of their poor diets and weight issues to prevent them from getting sick. This kind of message about diet from Dr. Fung and other similar Doctors with the same message should really be taught in high school because people just don’t have an understanding of preventative maintenance for their bodies and their health.
In my job I work regularly with liver transplants from NASH cirrhosis. As Dr. Fung said, it's an epidemic. And I can tell you no education is provided to these patients on how it developed or what to do. Sad. I cannot provide this education because it does not fall under my scope / in other words I am not a registered dietitian so I can't under hospital rules provide this.
Have you thought about becoming a registered dietitian? My understanding is that once you go through all the bs training they give you, you can then educate people on proper diets, including fasting and low carb, etc.
They wouldn’t listen anyway They just “have a disease” 🤷🏼♀️ no one knows why or how But they’ll get the new liver and live another 5-10 yrs before they ruin that one too 🤦♀️

Exactly!!!!
Those companies don't have our best interests in mind

A bigger problem is the food industry and the lack of proper nutrition training for docs (they’re still based on old studies). Another huge problem would be patient compliance. Most people won’t do what they need to if it means giving up bad habits. They’d rather pop a pill. My mother is like that.
Yes, free! Fasting means eating less food in total. Also, the food industry keeps trying to overfed us. "Supersize...upsize" .
Big Pharma hate people who explain you don't need their medication - and why you are better without their pills...
This is so tragic because more and more doctors who know exactly what to do would stay silent and hand out pills just to keep their jobs!
As I listen on other TH-cam, doctors cannot recommend fasting...they do get in trouble...so backward...I think it is because fasting is starving the body and as a dr cannot recommend patients to starve...yeah go figure...

Fung.
TH-cam is full of healthy information and most of it is not harmful and does not hurt to try.

As well many adults have been developing type 1 as well. Our Liver is a major hub of us being healthy. 16+ hours a day of fasting is a good start to reversing NAFLD. Also, I eat lots of chia seeds. It helps. Thanks for reading. Peace.
Im a example of that. Very skinny. People used to tell me im the one that can eat cookies because im skinny. Developed typ 2 before age of 30. Together with other autoimmun stuff.

So losing weight seems to work so far. take care.
Jason Fung is my new Doctor now. I only listen to him!
Dr Berg is very good also.
Do NOT listen to Eric Berg. He'll clickbait you and have you eating 11 cups of veggies per day, which is much too much. Listen to Drs. Eric Westman, Ben Bikman, Paul Mason. A low-carb diet primarily focuses on reducing carbohydrate intake and emphasizes foods that are relatively lower in carbohydrates. Some common low-carb diet foods include:

FUNG! ;-)
Thank God for your advice. Wish more people would pay attention to such knowledgeable physicians.

Just completed my 30 hour fasting.. I feel good eating once a day
Since type 2 diabetes or prediabetes is nearly always precipitated by NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease), if I had the power to rewrite the rules that govern the standard of care for all physicians who treat people who are diabetic or prediabetics I would:
1. Make it mandatory that all clinicians watch Dr. Fung's explanation of fatty liver
2. Insist that the FIRST line of treatment, BEFORE the dispensing of drugs, is to put the prediabetic or diabetic patient on a low carb diet in conjunction with an intermittent fasting protocol
Your info/books should be required learning in high school curriculum or even pre-puberty for anyone that consumes food. I am so grateful for you💙
Hi Stephanie, can you share the link of the video with Dr Nadia please?
Rice and other carbohydrates aren’t bad for you.Stop spreading disinformation.
Great
Remarkable ! Such an inspiration. Just one question though. Why no omega fish oil? aren't they good for you?
So what DID you eat?
No fruit?

?!! Shocking
I believe that that was the case with my very old mother in France 3 years ago: "she had a very big "cyste" in her liver".

Thank you, Dr. Fung!! 👏👏👏 you are the best!!
Cauliflower has choline too apparently 😊
Many of the medical web sites say cut back on eggs if diagnosed with NAFLD, but the wholistic web sites say eggs are ok, even beneficial for helping to reverse it. I raise chickens and get pasture raised organic eggs, so can I eat 2 a day?
Thanks Dr Fung.

Dr. Jason, you a true healer! Thank you a million for being a real human body troubleshooter!
Pretty much everything I'm going through right now. I know it can change.

Fung and other similar Doctors with the same message should really be taught in high school because people just don’t have an understanding of preventative maintenance for their bodies and their health.
at doctor Fong and other doctors who are doing these TH-cam videos should be the ones teaching this and kicking all the other doctors out of practice.
They wouldn’t listen anyway
They just “have a disease” 🤷🏼♀️ no one knows why or how
But they’ll get the new liver and live another 5-10 yrs before they ruin that one too 🤦♀️
