    So what happens to the ceramic ciating that is on the PPF when a rock hits it and the PPF self heals? Does the ceramic coat self heal, or does every impact re ove the ceramic ciating?

    • @shoshadyproductions
      @shoshadyproductions 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So what I believe will happen in this case is that the ceramic coating will eventually ware off, leaving only the PPF to protect your front end, which is fine. The reason Ceramic Coating is put on top of the PPF there is to essentially match the rest of the vihicle. PPF won't give you as great of a Gloss finish like ceramic coating, and under some instances you will notice where the vehicle is/isn't coated if you were to do one and not the other. But I do believe that some Ceramics can self-heal or correct themselves.

    i just went to local reputable detailer for option on my r8. After the owner of the shop explained the differences and cost, i think ive decided to do a paint correction/ceramic coating instead of PPF. basically the cost of PPF was 4X more and i just didnt want to spend that much. How about the clarity from the reflection on the surface? As I understand it, a prepped paint surface + ceramic coating gives much better reflection clarity compared to PPF. PPF tends to give orange peel look to the surface due to the nature of PPF material itself.

    • @CeramicPROUSA
      @CeramicPROUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great Question Leo. What you will find is that Ceramic Coatings will enhance the finish of the paint more than a PPF will and give it a deeper gloss look. PPF does tend to give an orange peel look which is why we are very excited about our new PPF, KAVACA Ceramic Coated. The adhesive we use has nano-ceramic technology in it which reduces the orange peel look and the film comes pre-coated when manufactured. This film offers everything great from our Ceramic Coatings but with protection.

    • @CeramicPROUSA
      @CeramicPROUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is actually not correct our coatings will not effect the instant healing effect. On that note, we are launching a ppf soon called "Kavaca Ceramic Coated" which will have ceramic coating properties built into it and will remove scratches with a heat gun like other self-healing films on the market.

      Hello Professor Snape. It's always best to hand wash your Ceramic Pro coated vehicle. However, if you don't have that option, if you're going to a local car wash, make sure it's a TOUCHLESS - meaning no scrubbing. Unless you have a Petronus charm protecting the vehicle prior to entering the car wash - this is the best way to reduce damage.
