Greg from northern Michigan. Oh the memories ... I worked in JD Engine Engineering from Dec 1977 to Dec 2016 (39 years of service). As such, I know these engine models quite well. The 6466T engine used here was very durable and reliable. I helped design, analyze, and develop many of the engine parts. There were 103 people working in Engine Engineering back in 1977, with about 1/3 of us having either bachelor or master engineering degrees. In short, we simply got things done with a relatively small team. When I retired in 2016, we had just over 400 people working there. Love your channel, and you not being afraid to diagnose and repair old iron with your team.
I was actually trained on this machine just outside of Atlanta GA circa 1986 when I was a member of the New York State Air National Guard. They taught us to mash the peddles to move the machine to keep it going straight. Good memories. Thanks guys.
I remember being that age too and not being the most talkative soul, I’m nearly 60 now and still the same because my wife doesn’t let me get a word in 😂 🏴👍🏻

We used two of these for years, They were strictly used for cleaning out vegetation in lakes and ponds because of the rubber tires we could drive across the dams and along the sides without killing grass etc. it had a custom long stick on it with a grass bucket They sure ran good back in the day.
I liked this one a lot, I like the viewers getting first shot at a 15,000 tool to cleanup their property of brush, stumps, small trees, maybe drop in a culvert, etc. I'm getting older and have a tiny skidsteer to push brush piles around, but this tool opens up bigger capabi!ties like cleaning old fencelines. Congratulations to the buyer, any repair cost will be worth the investment keeping old iron alive.
You guys have the best banter, it makes me feel like I’m standing there working too. There was a time I hoped I would never see a wheeled excavator again. When I was 16, I got a summer job with the irrigation commission dredging canals. The machine was a Detroit powered Drott 50 wheeled machine. At 6:00am I’d get dropped off with my lunch box, full water jug, and topped off the fuel and fuel cans. This was before cell-phones. It was pretty cool, that old beast would go about 30 miles an hour down the road. That’s why they chose that machine in particular, because it could be driven everywhere.
Good score Clinton! We use those machines in Saskatoon for water & sewer repairs. They can zoom around the city on rubber tires without tearing up the pavement!
That's a cool machine, i hope someone loves it. And uses it on their place, or a small company that works in town and needs something that won't destroy pavement or property. That look on everyones face when it fired for the first time was Gold. Great buy, Clint.
I really like these videos, whenever you get a piece of machinery that doesn't run or just barely runs, then you transform it into something amazing, happy days! 😀

It's really good to be able to watch a video "will it run" where someone actually knows how to troubleshoot and get it running. Your knowledge of military vehicles suited for civilian construction applications especially with John Deere is outstanding. You would have made a great warrant officer for servicing equipment at the refurbishment level.
In the Netherlands runing a excavator like a 140 on wheels is standard. Smaller country and they move themselves for distances for like 25 miles without having to use a trailer. This John Deere is something different but ideal for farmers on their property!
Got to love old iron, sitting for years, bump it a few times and it fires right up, try that with the new junk being sold, good luck! Great as always guys! keep them coming!!
Sounds just like our 1990 John Deere 4755 mwfd did. Love that smooth powerful Deere sound and the whistle of the turbo. Those engines were reliable and some of the best ever made.
