Great videos Dick, I sure do miss my car but I'm happy that it went to you. There's another good break upgrade for the 240Z utilizing the front brake calipers of an 83 Toyota 4 wheel drive on those Toyotas they came with four piston calipers and I believe they bolt right on . I meant to try that but you know how time gets away from you. It's supposed to increase your stopping power substantially.
Look at you! Rebuilding the Samurai Warrior the " RIGHT Way "! Great to see ! To improve those brakes up grade to Hawk racing pads and shoes ! This is what the IT racers use on race tracks and works great on street cars too! But what you have is great for now! Great work great car !
Good luck with your clutch work. I replaced the calipers because the car had been sitting unused for many years and things tend to get stuck and gummed up, so for safety I replaced them.
Z Car Depot is where I buy from most. But Rock Auto also sells a lot of parts for these 240Z's. If you search the internet for Z parts you will find several sources. Thanks for watching!
@@DickShaw Thanks man, you`re a Legend ! I just noticed the fact you are from the USA. I`m a euro guy from over the pond and therefore some orders are ... lets say tricky cause of customs and stuff. They really take a good chunk in the governments pocket. In Europe the Z`s are not as loved yet while still very pricey. There is a lack of a community. So no market no parts 😕 i wish i could get a boatload of parts in one run from overseas ... however great content. I actually had some very same issues regarding the door lock mechanism ... just a week before i found your video collection i did almost the same to bend my own spring.
Those clips you show us. Used to see them on alot of old carbs' Nice to deal with. Enjoying the build.
This video was so helpful when I had to replace my brakes. Thank you! Hope to see more videos in the future.
Glad it helped!
Thanks, Dick! Working on a binding driver rear drum and struggling. Ill start by loosening up the shoes with the adjuster wheel...
Thanks Dick well made videos and job done right.. I wish i had the resources for bringing clasics back to life. Still working on the 68 cl350

ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO - Why did you replece the calipers ?

Is the caliper new or rebuilt and what brand or where did you buy them?
Hello, thanks for watching. The caliper was new and I got it from Rock Auto online. I don't remember the brand.
