    I found out recently that the teen pot-belly is because they slouch and have bad posture. In cas you can adjust their posture by pulling on their spine. This info was Game changing or me! It sounds dumb but I was always so frustrated with the way fit sims would have big bellies no matter how they ate or worked out. It’s all about that spine!

    by the way, Koby got the expensive gaming mat from Father Winter. I guess being such a good sim paid off! Might be fun to put that in the club house. It's in the household inventory.

    • @SomeoneBeginingWithI
      @SomeoneBeginingWithI 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I recommend against putting gaming mats in publicly accessible parts of a house, because guests love using them (they're really fun) but once an NPC is using one they're impossible to interact with because they are physically inside the object's animation so you can't click on them. If I have a gaming mat I make sure it's kept in a locked room.

    surprised your not abusing clubs at child age, they have tons of easy xp boosters but the crown jewel is the "Rally" ability which when used pretty much fills up 1/2 of your needs, as well as the ability to toggle moods on a whim.
    whenever im making a super sims i always have a club up and going, you can even exploit it for free artwork to sell while also skilling up random members :)

    • @gumballz.9259

      Seriously club is the most broken thing. I can just form a club between the child and the parents, and the club gathering will literally never end! Last time I check the club point goes up to 2000 or sth for only 2 members lol!

    The best thing you can do to raise conflict resolution as a teen (that I have found) is yelling at your friend/parents/whoever then apologizing over and over. It will decrease empathy from the yelling at people but you can just volunteer as a teen to get empathy back up and it goes up by a lot when you volunteer.

  • @sha46327
    @sha46327 5 ปีที่แล้ว +33

    I so dislike the current event system, it should really show the friends of ALL household members (perhaps even in their own tabs) for whomever is planning the party... I'd love some of everyone's friends to come over for BBQs and birthday parties. It's so frustrating.
    LOL, "Does water count"... watching you host a party was hilarious though. XD

    To raise Conflict Resolution as a teen have mom make an enemy and have the super sim fix said bad relationship. it is on a timer but it is the only path to raise it other then random perhood events. Fix relations with every sim you can. It is hard to raise as a teen. Make sure you have mom parenting skill maxed so you have more options to take advantage of those options.
    Watching you manage a party was entertaining. You can tell you don't do it often. LOL.
    Glad you edited your sim. I don't think I could stand it as aged up. I would have done so myself.

    Your club house is *entirely acceptable*! 👏🏻😃 I’m in awe of your building skills! My younger son told me (when I first got and started playing Sims with Sims 3) “Mom. Stop. You are terrible at building.” Sadly accurate. This was definitely your best super sim video so far-rude guests, a make over, a bit of building, the trials and tribulations of child rearing, Santa smack down=💜Spandrels are those decorative bits in the corners of archways. I hope that makes sense.

    1:06 I dunno what causes it specifically, but I notice when they nap, sometimes they get an energized buff, which is useful for making that energy last a bit longer.
    Mostly I just use it to help pad out the energy and clock so they stay on schedule when something odd happens that desyncs them.
    The delgato kid isn't a townie, he's one of the kids from the pets neighborhood, but I notice the seasons attire on looking townie esque since it seems to be randomly generated for a lot of them anway.
    I snorted my coffee at the ban on using basemental's with mom there, wasn't expecting to see that referenced.

Splice snapdragons onto strawberries, plant the dragon fruit when it appears - if they need a lot of money for summat, I'll plant the first crop of dragonfruit, but usually one bush is enough income for a regular household. 16:12 Can Teens die from being hysterical? I know they're immune to death by Anger and death by Embarassment, at the very least.
    They gave them immunity to this with Parenthood, due to adding the Mood Swing system, where a Teen can come home from school with something crazy like +50 Embarassed or +50 Angry moodlets. And at those strengths, they're so far above the normal death-intensity that they had to give them immunity to dying from it.

    I’m also doing this challenge, and here are some tips I’ve learned if you want to add them to your guide!
    Toddler: blaarfy and company raise communication crazy fast. Laundry is a great way to get the coveted playful moodlet for imagination. A full-day energized moodlet happens the day before winter fest which is GREAT for movement, which I think is the hardest. Always potty before bed and when they wake up to avoid wasting skill time on a diaper.
    Child: empathy with the doctor set is crucial. You can spam start/cancel the interaction so the parents can repetitively praise. Teach to say sorry can be praised afterwards too. Those are must-do character values in childhood. All scouting activities are easy in childhood except the outdoor one, and can mostly be completed as you do the childhood aspirations (arts and crafts w/ creative, scientist w/ mental, exercise w/ motor, etc)
    Teen: I have them jog to clear mind every morning to slowly build their emotional control. Writing in the journal + praise is good too. Manners and responsibility are easy in my opinion. Getting started on aspirations is good here too, especially the time consuming ones like writing and party animal.
    I used to max all this stuff for all of my baby challenge kids so I find it very easy to do. I can do it on normal lifespan. The key is time and moodlet management! I’m glad you discovered the lemons trick.
    Still enjoying this series a bunch, keep it up!

  • @kaciwade3961
    @kaciwade3961 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can grind the repeatable character value giving interactions (for example the doctor playset for empathy), have the parent encourage, cancel the action and start it back up. Each time you start a new interaction it resets the encourage cool down. For example, you can encourage doing homework after your child/teen does their regular homework, and then again after they do extra credit work (if it's accessible to them).

      You can set up the club house as a place to throw parties and do social stuff, then lock people out of your house to keep them out of your fridge and tub. :D
      Just put anything you don’t want party-goers to mess around with in a separate room that you can lock during those events.

      I didn't have too much trouble with it. Bear in mind that manners and responsibility are the easiest to boost just by doing homework and chores, so if you get the pop-up boxes with options, always pick ones that boost conflict resolution (or whichever one you're low on) even at the expense of manners/responsibility, as you can always refill those later. Also when they're still a child, get the parent to teach them to say sorry. That alone filled my meter pretty easily.

  • @LadyYepperz

    To accomplish party goals ... Form a generic group by clicking on a guest and hit "form group". Then you can use the *together* options. Like, "listen to music together". Add a spa day or backyard tray and you can then, "get drinks together". I use this method anytime i need NPS to do something with my sim.

    • @tealkerberus748

      JodieWithanIE Official gardens and recipes both need an overhaul. I want a bunch of veges for my garden salad, and I want to be able to put existing salad veges such as carrots and onions in it, and I want the option to switch off recipes the household just will not use - meat recipes for vegetarians, pig recipes for Jews and Muslims, dairy or gluten recipes for allergies, and for myself, I'd switch off tomato and fish - but I'd still have garden salad, it just wouldn't have tomatoes in it. Also, I want a fruit salad recipe that just needs a certain number of different sweet fruits, and it doesn't matter whether you use apples or pears, or strawberries or grapes, so long as you have enough different things in it. But being able to delete recipes that shouldn't be available in this household would make it so much easier - and since when does a Jewish mother have bacon in her fridge anyway?

    I see you do a zoom-in with editing software three or four times in the series. That zoom-movement something I dislike. I would rather see a, uhh, a letter O around the point I should focus on, or a simple hard cut to the zoomed-in focus point. All in all, I like your videos above average much. The narrative you create around what sims think, dress, find important, and what their personality is like, makes me bond to the characters. The mention of Basement drugs made me laugh hard.
    I learn a lot. I am interested in which items help, what are clever ways to play such as the Knowledge aspiration and the disco nap. I hope to learn what scouting badges are for. I hope Kobe gets a first kiss with Elsa and they marry, hahaha! After all, her family's description in the game describes her as kid genius. You're doing great work. Thank you for the frequent uploads!

    In order to max the skilling time I hardly let them sleep and always let the sims start a family club and make them use the rally the troops social with the other sim in that club. Using the set club vibe social is also great when special moods are desireable in different kind of skilling. Supersims galore in my households in other words. The book of life is also an excellent tool to get the sims needs filled up quickly so that they can focus on skilling. They do not need to work and live of selling paintings and other stuff created by crafting.

    Form a group when u start the party and choose “wind down with classical together” to get the multiple “listen to music” task done.
    U have to have 3 at the same time listening...so it’s hard because most times just 2 will lol. Getting a group formed will also keep all the guests where they need to be for cake, drinks and also presents. (If u don’t open presents, u sometimes get a negative moodlet....I’ve always wondered why it’s not a task for the party score since u can Get the disappointed moodlet if u don’t do it)

      "no no no no no no. you... you don't understand. you can't be on my computer playing blickblock"

    Drinking water use to count as get w drink but maybe they patched it out. But I believe orange juice from the snack menu works too. I also have no idea that the "mood sting" is. Also also if you buy the undecorated tree you can fulfill the decorations requirement and the present appear under the tree (no pile needed).

    For children's parties I end up having the adult throw a party, and the kid will later invite their friends to the lot. Kind of gives it the old school vibe -- like when I was sent to school with invites that I would pass out to friends. lol

    I was playing the other day with my family and I had a set of twins I wanted to age up into adults as soon as they got home from school. So I went ahead and had the first Sim blow the candles out and it was fine, I had her sister go next and as soon as she aged up she dropped dead from explosive anger because she came home from school angry. I was absolutely shocked lol, that was a first for me.

    I start out all my new sims as teens for getting the bonuses. If you do mean interactions, you can apologize right after and gain conflict resolution. To gain empathy use gnomes on thanksgiving! Give them the wrong gift, and every time you sooth them after you gain empathy. It gives an amazing boost rather than volunteering or going around looking for sims with negative moods. Manners you get easily by setting tables. Every time they cook and eat have them unwind with classical music. ALWAYS have a friend over to get your weekly projects done! Start a conversation with them then start work carefully and invite them to help. You can basically talk the entire time, telling jokes the whole time works wonders for raising that pesky comedy skill at the same time, and the project will be done in no time with the bonus that the sim helping will gain the skill as well, and responsibility if they are also a teen sim. Brushing teeth after every bladder-hand washing will also quickly max out responsibility. So far I have managed to get all "super bonuses" easily with all my Sims starting as a teen while still having enough time to become an A student and have a home-based money-making hobby, I usually choose either writing or painting for money-making. Happy Simming!

    For conflict resolution your parent needs to teach to say sorry when he is a child or toddler. I prefer to start right from toddler, since it also helps his communication skill. Do it in the morning, do it in the evening, and if you do it consistently you are set. Any other method is really difficult. This one is also difficult, but not so much as the others. Unless you want you parent to become a public enemy, fighting left and right.

    I wish someone would make a mod for writing to give books more varied names. I end up having to come up with different book titles instead of using what the game picks, because my sims already wrote a book with that name.
    I only have the base game and 5 sims I made for separate games. I forgot you could put them all in the same save game file. I'm nervous because I want to make two of my sims married and have a kid together and try raising a kid. I would love to make the kid super smart and super talented. These videos are helping and giving me ideas on what to do. All my male sims, except one, have mohawks, lol. I love those.
