There is a primal hotness to a woman powerful enough to make one feel a bit afraid. She's 33, and has been performing in various bands since she was 15, after being inspired to sing metal by hearing Otep growl. Eugene has written the lyrics for a few of their songs, but generally the guys write the music, she says they don't ask her opinion. Then she gets the music, writes lyrics, and comes up with whatever vocal composition she feels fits the music. Eugene who is bass and manager says they don't know what she's going to sing about until they start recording. If you want to see a bootleg performance of this, it is the first song on the full-set bootleg from Israel uploaded by Idan Shahar a couple of months ago. Perennial live at Wacken should be next. Cheers!

Tatiana was born on March 15, 1987. This video is footage from several concerts set to studio audio, but given that the song came out in 2019, she was probably 32 here.

    Hello!
This is the reaction that appears in people when they first-twice hear Jinjer! It never bothers! :D
This type of harsh vocals used by the vocalist is called fry screaming (sometimes confused with growling, which is a completely different type of vocals). When using it, the vocalist does not use the vocal cords at all, so they do not suffer from excessive load. This is a very complicated vocal technique, and if you use it incorrectly, you can damage the vocal cords. And Tatiana is fluent in this technique, as well as clear singing...
You definitely need to watch Tatiana’s (Jinjer's really) performances on a fully-live show - your brain will simply explode from her energy! She is nuclear bomb on the stage... :D
Tatiana on stage is a demon with angel wings and the voices of both of them!
I advise you to see "Captain Clock" on Ressurection Fest (official live) or "Who is Gonna Be the One" (live) by Napalm Records or "Perennial" at Wacken Open Air.
You definitely won’t forget it. :D
And a "little bit" information so that you better understand what kind of band this is and who Tatiana is.
So (big bunch of text :D):
Jinjer is from Ukraine. This is one of the fastest growing band in the world right now -
more than 160 concerts with full halls and stadiums on all continents (except Antarctica) during last year and incessant tours this year (stopped because coronavirus (( ).
Despite the fact that they are all from Ukraine, none of the participants ever speak Ukrainian, because they are from the Russian-speaking region Donbass where almost the entire population is Russian (there is a civil war right now that is supported by Russia on the one hand , and with another USA - there are two songs about it "Sit Stay Roll over" and "When Two Empires Collide").
All songs are in English only, but there is only one in Russian ("Желаю значит получу" - "I Want It I'll Get it").
    They are:
    Tatiana "Booya" Shmailyuk - vocals
    Roman Ibramkhalilov - guitars
    Eugene Abdiukhanov - bass
    Vladislav Ulasevich - drums
Tatiana is a big fan of Amy Winehouse - she even makes a one tatoo in honor of Amy (you can also hear the musical imitation of Amy Winehouse at the end of the song "Who Is Gonna Be the One")... And she also likes to listen to classic rock, progressive and NU metal, hardcore and deathcore, hip-hop and rap, blues and soul...
She is 33 years old now.
She was born on March 15, 1987 in Gorlovka, Donbass, Ukraine. After school, she entered the Pedagogical University and received a specialty as a teacher of Russian language and literature. She never studied vocals (only one month when she was a child - she quit music school because she was bored there) and did not train in growling and screaming, she only has a unique natural talents and abilities.
In 2009, her friends from the young band Jinjer (was founded in 2008) were asked to temporarily replace vocalist Max Fatullaev who had left for the US until they find a new vocalist.
But Tatiana brought such energy to the band that she did not replace the old vocalist for a few times, but remained forever and became the real leader of this band and the author of 99% of all songs (lyrics).
She has a big bunch of talents:
she writes poetry and is the author of 99% of the band's lyrics, she draws arts and creates tattoo sketches, she can make tattoos (all tattoos of other members of the band are her works), she sews well (look her homemade dresses in videos "I Speak Astronomy"-official video and "Captain Clock"-live at Ressurection Fest), she does all her jewelry and piercing accessories with her own hands (she generally loves to do all sorts of stuff with her own hands) and much more.
P.S. Although each Jinjer's song is not like the other you can always recognize the band. Over the ten years of their existence Jinjer has developed its own and completely unique style unlike any other!
I think that we live in a time when a new style of Metal was born, that’s why no one can answer the question “what style do they sing?” - this style has no name yet but something like “GrooveMix” or “JinjerCore" will appear soon. : D
And yes, Tatiana’s vocals will also have to come up with a special name because it’s not a real "growling", and not a real "fry scream", and nothing else what have name for this moment, but something very unique - even most music experts can’t agree on what it really is!
    So, greetings from Kiev, Ukraine!
Be happy, stay hungry and ride the Metal!
    Peace!

      @Deadmarsh81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

@@nickmilo932 The last founding member left the band in 2015 (guitarist, they had two earlier). Makes no sense to change the name when you already have released music with it. Band members usually change over time so there change is not sudden. That being said, none of the current members were in the band when it was named so they don't have first hand knowledge of the origins.

You mentioned her looks, her clean voice, her extreme voice, her “flow” (bars)... but what you haven’t yet experienced, reggae! There are 2 tracks that include reggae beats: The outro of “Who’s Gonna Be The One” and the verses of “Judgement and Punishment”. Also, you’ve yet to realize her true superpower: composition. The band’s method of composing in general consists of Roman Eugene and Vlad writing a piece of music - an instrumental track. They hand this track to Tatiana, who then mulls it over, gives it a title, composes lyrics, determines the melody and which vocal style to use where. She then records the vocals onto the instrumental track. That’s amazing! This means that the guys don’t usually know the title or subject of a piece when they’re done with it. There are exceptions where Eugene or Vlad have written complete pieces.

Jinjer was formed in 2009, but there are currently no original band members in the band. The band was called Jinjer because that is what the guitar sounds like when playing metal "Jin, Jer, Jin, Jer". The current members Tatiana (vocals), and Roman (guitar), joined the band in 2010. Current Bassist Eugene joined in 2011, and current drummer Vlad joined the band in 2017. Before you ask, yes, the former vocalist was a woman. Want more Jinjer action check out there newest music video Judgment (and Punishment). This song just shows how diverse they are!

Hey there guys! If you want another Jinjer song that would be slower for Hollywood, you could try out "I Speak Astronomy". It has some epic sound to it and is far more just her singing normally than doing the screaming. It's a 'prog metal' song as I've seen others describe it. The opening sounds a bit like something out of a Rush song. Plus for the music video, you get to see more of her looking quite elegant, but also super scary sometimes.

From what I've heard the name Jinjer came from when the original band formed and they named it from the sound that an electric guitar makes. That was before Tatiana and Roman joined the band. When they had a male lead singer.

Fun reaction guys, look forward to hearing more reactions to Jinjer! Your just about to go down the rabbit hole here. There is no shortage of brilliant materiel from this band and hope you explore much of it. The band wrights the music/rough drafts and Tatiana comes in the studio mostly unprepared with lyrical material she wrote and starts improvising her melodies over the guys music, its how they have always come up with their songs.
They are Ukranian, and had a real tough life to finally get to where they are with some broader notoriety, breaking out really from their Pisces vid on you tube which you guys reacted to, but they have been a band for 10 years and again have produced some brilliant work - they don't have a bad song. English is not their first language either btw, however you wouldn't really know it buy the brilliant lyric writing and her voice.

Not sure if anyone else has commented about this but the band's name, and it's original meaning, is actually a mystery to the current band, as the name was made up by the original male vocalist who founded the band in 2009, before leaving the group in 2010. And, since none of the original band members are still in the band, the current members stated in an interview that the name Jinjer somewhat replicates the sound of a distorted guitar, and that's what the name is for them.

This band has been around since 2009 from the Ukrainian. They have been to the states, and I was introduced to the band with the song, "On the Top." Being a guitarist I thought she was using a pedal to switch clean to growling, but no it's all her. Tetiana Shmailyuk is her name.

I get this is an honest reaction and the newness of Jinjer still hasn’t worn off for you guys. And I’m going to get some hate for this...but it makes some Jinjer fans cringe when people go on and on about how Tatiana looks, especially commenting on her body. It makes her uncomfortable too. In an interview with Revolver, when asked about touring in the US, she said “I feel nervous here I'm a bit afraid of people here. I have this constant feeling that someone is going to shoot me. I'm afraid to go somewhere alone. But frankly speaking, I'm afraid to be by myself in any country. I had some unpleasant staring and stuff like that. [...] I started to dress like a guy when I was younger. I started wearing men's clothing when I was nine, when I started listening to punk rock. And then I continued to do this because I didn't want to attract men with my sexuality, but rather with my attitude and my mind. I don't know if this is good tactics. Probably not. But at least I felt comfortable.”
Anyway, she’s 33. From what I’ve seen, Jinjer was the name of the band when all the members were different. The name doesn’t have a meaning to them. They just kept it. I’d hardly refer to the band as “her band” since she doesn’t write any of the actual music. I think they’re all involved in songwriting.
Sorry for being critical, but I know there are Jinjer fans who will cut the video off when someone is commenting on Tatiana’s physical appearance. If that’s not an issue for you, do your thing. No disrespect meant. Only trying to help. 😊

wow, thank you so much for the information. For the record Hollywood didn't mean anything negative towards her and the band. He wishes he knew that previously before making those comments because we love this band. And no need to apologies, because this is the kind of information we need. thank you so much for the clarification and we are truly grateful to have subscribers like you.

@@Hollywood6IX For my part, the only thing I would say is that lead singers being the sole contributors is mostly an American point of view. Going solo and "having a band" are normalized here in a way that's not usually representative of the wider world of music (with exceptions, obviously). And particularly on YT, reaction channels tend to focus solely on the singer, discounting the rest of the act. I don't believe for a second that y'all (or in fact, most YTers) do this maliciously or intentionally. Just pointing out that everyone involved deserves recognition when they make something you like.
