Deku is canonically terrifying, because his plan for this battle was for Chisaki to tell him that Eri would kill him, and then for him to reply "NOT IF I KILL MYSELF FASTER!"
I'm pretty sure the only reason overhaul survived that last punch is because of eri's rewind. If you look closely at the scene where deku lands the final bow, i believe you can see deku's green/bluish energy spreading through chisaki leaving behind a skeleton followed by eri's yellow rewind energy spreading over his body
Definitely one of my favorite MHA episodes in the entire series. Deku is a beast, and it's kind of cool to see him at full power, considering we don't get normally get to see it.
I love how the League had basically been like, "You don't like Chisaki. We don't like Chisaki. So we'll give you a few pushes in the right direction to ensure he gets taken out." And that's just the way it is. Overhaul's cockiness and cruelty made an enemy of both the heroes and the League. And as a result, there was no one left to help him in the end.
Eri's quirk is perhaps one of the most OP of the show. The ability to rewind people is to make them return to a former state. With it, she can do more than just heal bones and wounds, she can actually regrow limbs, make others become younger... and even possibly bring someone back from death. Basically, Eri is the key for immortality. But the fact Eri can't control her quirk is the greatest danger, as, if she rewinds one person too much, they can actually disappear, as if they were never born, like she did with her father.
Man I remember when this episode was trending on twitter. When i read this in the manga and found out one of the key animators from One Punch Man was going to work on this scene, I knew it was going to be amazing
we know that it is Toga, but Uravity and Froppy just saw Deku call for help, so they shook off the weakness and got to work. Deku is an inspiration to the class
So when deku fights overhaul the soundtrack that plays Is “All For One’s theme”. I believe the last time we heard this track was sometime during/before All Might vs AFO. I think this is really cool use of the song because when it is first used it really drives home All For One as this godlike force that is so much more powerful than our protags. But now when it’s used we’re able to view OFA (and by extension all might in the past and deku in the future) how villains do: an unstoppable force of nature. Also there’s a, fan theory? Head-Cannon? Fan-wish? Lol idk. But there is a fan theory that the only reason Overhaul isn’t a pile of mush rn is because Eri’s rewind, extended to him and rewound him some before he fully died. Idk about the logistics of this (based on things we know in cannon and the lack of morbid storylines of the series lol) but it’s a interesting take on the fight haha
@@josenaula7316 I can get behind that, but I still find it more believable that it was Eri's power extending, because the only reason Chisaki wouldn't stay down was that he kept repairing himself. If he wasn't able to repair himself, he would have dropped much sooner. Also a 100% smash would probably turn anyone who isn't ludicrously physically powerful into a pile of mist lol
Well you guys need to keep in mind that Deku’s 100% is All Might’s 100% plus the additional strength Deku has built over the past few months. He IS stronger than All Might
Y’all reactions were amazing in this episode! This is my fave episode, simply put Deku showed why he was chosen. He kept Eri safe while tied to his back and made sure Overhaul caught those hands 😂 stop playing with Deku. Season 4 is just 🔥
It's absolutely worth looking up the manga page/spread where overhaul is shouting "Give her back!", it's one of the coolest pages I've ever seen in a manga and the episode didn't do it justice (though it certainly gave 100% deku justice after that)

The second movie takes place after Season 5 though.

Fr, i mean man fucking almost rip his own hand off just to talk no jutsu shoto a bit
@@mintaroum.9096 talk no jutsu yes lol
“Not if I kill myself faster” sounds cold asf, wish they had out that in for him to say not gonna lie. Just to show the level of his determination.
@@marshad_ow802 not exactly the best line for most people struggling with mental health issues xD
But yes that IS exactly what he was thinking haha
I get chills when Chisaki looks up at deku like he's a vengeful God

this Deku 100% animation vs now Pepehands
thats 40% of his full power maybe less.

I feel like if the league of villains joined chisaki in the end.. with 100% Deku, they might have been ended right then and there along with him.
"Might U" is one legendary OST, definitely one of my all-time favorites

Seeing Overhaul turn himself into a flying meat tornado makes me grateful this is animated lol

I assumed that even if it was a %100 smash, he had an enormous and powerful body that allowed him to survive the hit.

Definitely one of the best episodes of the whole show imo
the only thing i think MHA sometimes gets wrong is the damage / destruction consistency. That 100% punch should have removed overhauls head
Eri's rewind, maybe ?
thats actually not true. its 100% not 100% of his total output forever. This is what a 13 year old dekus' 100% is. Not full grown man prime Dekus 100%
Sh had used her quirk at that point to rewind Overhaul and remove the other guy from him.

I don't care what anyone says this Ark was the best in all MHA and overhaul is by far the best villain
CHISAKI >>> SHIGARAKI
