Thank you for your video and the sheet music, just started playing piano after a long pause and this piece really makes me play and practice all over again!
Was looking for simplified versions of Canon in D for student of mine (kind of student). Lot of them what I found were too complex, too simple or simply odd variations. This is nice sheet and similar which I used myself long time ago to learn to play this. Why looking this was is the pattern for left hand which is simple but sounds good and is easy to advance to complex ones. Canon overall in my opinion is nice song to learn/teach lot thanks to pattern and lot of people have heard this without them knowing it. Also lot of variations in C or F, it has to be in D :) Thanks for the sheet music you've created and nice tutorial. Nice to refer student here when I'm not around (hopefully she does understand English) :) Hope it is fine to use your arrangement for teaching. Not a professional but helping out a friend who wants to learn more.
You know, i really like you. Your videos really help me in teaching my piano students. I owe you for this. How i wish i could have tue chance to meet you in person or talk to you.
Hi, do you think level 2 beginner can play this arrangement? I can play the simpler version from my Level 2 lesson book, and this seems interesting but I don't want to get frustrated. Thanks.
I had thought the Canon in D was called Cannon in D because of the two key signatures of F and C sharp and the chord ends in F major. Either case very nice rendition. This seems more of a grade 1 then 2 which I now you said between 1 - 2but it's very nice. Thanks
It sounds, Allysia, like you're saying a Cannon is just what we peasants call a round...like row, row, row your boat...only a little more sophisticated. ;)
For everyone, who wants to save some time with the finger numbers you can message me and I will send you my version (pretty similair to hers, with a few differences)
Version simplifiée très bien expliquée, merci beaucoup
Thanks for posting this. You make the left hand much easier to play and still sounds great. I'm enjoying learning this piece now. Thank you so much
Great breakdown and solid transfer of both information and enthusiasm.
Thank You!
Thanks :)

Not to mention popular the rock version.
Well known but still a very pretty piece

Yes, the key signature of the piece is D major, and D major has both a C# and F#.

What keyboard are yuo using in this video?
The biggest problem I'm having is which fingers to play where. Can you offer any suggestions?
Skip to 4:41. You are welcome
Nocturne Op. 9 no. 2 is in the beginning
Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in the end
when we say 'wedding song' it means Midsummer's Night Dream :D
thanks :)
If only my teacher is pretty like her I will probably practise 23 hours a day :(
background is chopin though :DD

I find it funny that in the beginning there was Chopin in the background, and near the end there was Liszt

With all those hand gestures you must have some Italian in your blood.
While you're explaining this grade-1 piece, you have Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in the background (grade-1000) taunting us you sadist!
I like your videos... but Hungarian Rhapsody was going in the background... it grabbed my attention away
Canon in d is easy as fuck
