I am simply amazed at your knowledge of the Gospels and your knowledge of those things that are attested to in scripture and those things that are tradition. Turned out the monk was only upset I used the light.. and when I later made a vlog about the church itself, he was ok with that too! wait and see.. and Just to clarify - I was raised in a Jewish religious school.. How I ended up such an expert on the New Testament and its archaeology is really someting only god can answer.. 🙂. I am simply fascinated by it!

      @@danny.the.digger - God does work in mysterious ways, doesn’t He? But since everyone in the New Testament is Jewish and a good amount happens in 1st Century Judea, it seems natural to me. It’s your people. I’m the wild branch who was grafted in. Thank God.

      You could say there Tradition But we must also remember we have only been given 4 Testaments , John & Mathew Apostles of CHRIST , Mark was a Good friend of Peter and Luke was a Good Friend of Paul , there are definitely writings of the Ten other Apostles that could have recorded these Events. so we shouldn't dismiss any events out right also if we read Holy Scripture all the days of our Life & carefully HE opens our eyes to see the unseen such as Luke being the only Non Jew to be a writer in the New Testament .

    Danny, great video. I learned a lot from you, and although you are Jewish and had to read the gospels to be a good guide, if I may be so bold, the Savior came first for you and your people but since He is the rejected One in Isaiah 53, gave the opportunity of being the most famous Jew in the world thanks to the Portuguese who started that trend. Only Great Love could bear such a pain, more than 600 wounds! It his your burden as a Jew to bear His Love because make no mistake, a Great Love is also a burden. God loves you.

    Hey Danny- great job! Can you give us your opinion why you think the Garden Tomb is not the tomb of Jesus? I have read some convincing evidence that suggests it is. Thanks!!!

    • @gilbregman4646
      @gilbregman4646 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One of the reasons for the claim that the garden tomb is the place was that this church is within the city walls and Jews bury the dead outside of the city. Only, as Danny said, in Roman times this area was outside the walls. The church was regarded as the location of the tomb since really early days. They actually found there a graffiti made by a pilgrim from Rome in the 4th century AD.

    Danny, I've been binge-watching your vlogs. When I get to Israel, I'll contract your services. However, if Church of the Holy Sepulchre is accurate, it's the first location that Helena got right. The Garden Tomb makes more sense (a rich man's house, perhaps Joseph of Arimathea) not far from the place of the skull (which looks like a skull) near the Damascus Gate because the Romans wanted people to see crucifixions to scare them. Helena got Mount Sinai wrong as well. Thanks to an agreement made by the Trump administration, we can travel to the ancient land of Midian in Saudi Arabia and see the real Mount Sinai. Shalom!

    Danny, I have a question. I will have plenty when I tour with you in August, but I’ve heard other stories that the traditional stations of the cross were not the real ones, as these are in the Muslim quarter and the real trail of Jesus was in the Jewish quarter. That this area wasn’t in existence in Jesus time. That these traditions came from the Catholics.
    What is your opinion.

    Your statement is really confusing me. Are you saying that this is the actual area where he was tried and convicted. So then what you're saying is this is the praetorium. The praetorium is where Jesus was tried and convicted. Why do archeology and archaeologists declare a different location. They have said that the trial and conviction has taken place at the praetorium. The place that you are stating were the Catholic church is located is not the pretorium. The trial and conviction happened at King Harrah's compound The praetorian. Either your information is off. Or the archeology and archaeologist excavations is off. Who do we believe You or the archaeologists. Joel Kramer

      Most people don't know that the word "Palestine" comes from the ancient Philistines, however you may know this people group from the Bible. Judges 13-16 records the account of Samson overcoming the Philistines. The Philistines were not indigenous to Canaan, but were from Egypt & gained control, for only a season, the coastal plains of what is now Ashdod, Ekron & Ashkelon. Interesting, the Philistines totally dissapear from written history in 6 BCE at the time of Nebuchadnezzar, another well known Biblical character, who conquered the region. The Philistines haven't been around in centuries. Many accolades to you Dr. Danny Hermon for challenging our traditions and sending us to the whole Bible to review the history of the Holy Land!!!

Interested to know your opinion: Theos is a definition or term, as is perhaps Lord and it's Hebrew equivalent, but god is a name recorded as a babylonian deity in Isaiah 65:11. Also mention of a deity later in Europe named god, perhaps where english gets the term.

      @@danny.the.digger Thanks for answering, yes. But as I understand it, the older etymology of El vs god is El then is a noun and god is a god named.. God גד (deity of fortune). It's just some interesting semantics and usage.

    Why are you giving out false information. Jesus was tried and convicted at the pretorium by Pontius Pilate The governor of Judea. The location was a pretorium which is known by scholars and or archaeologists within the compound of King Herod the great. Catholic church that you declare is location of trial and conviction is incorrect. This is not location of King Herod the great compound. My sources are from one of my favorite archaeologists, Joel Kramer who is an archaeologist and you can research his credentials. Located and resides in Jerusalem. My source is Joel Kramer Pontius Pilate and Jesus TH-cam video
