    Are there plans to continue looking for the rest of the pools?
    I have to comment on the pansies at the beginning of the video. They are gorgeous and much bigger than ours in the USA. They were my Dad's favorite.

    Thanks so much for another great video! We were there in 2005 on a christian tour with Perry Stone and have pictures of this place, but in this short video you covered the history & the area so much better! We did sing in the chapel you mentioned, which was amazing how long the sound would echo- what technology they knew back then. It is amazing how deep the site is and how much was built above it- you guys did so much to uncover it, truly amazing! Thanks again so much for these videos, it not only brings back so many memories, but also how much more you teach us. May our Lord bless you for what you are doing!

    It's amazing all the history is in Israel. You can go down so deep through the layers of years, the Romans, the Jews, the Christians, the Crusaders, the Muslims over 2000yrs of treasures and so much still to discover and it's all tied to the bible.

    I have stood at this church a half dozen times, I have never walked down into the pool areas! I love seeing the evidence of the corners and the steps! Wow! I must be honest, I have watched this video 5 times, due to all the learning on the pools! Thank you so much! And talking to the pigeons was hilarious!

    Always appreciate your in-depth journeys. Concerning the pools , since they were basically stagnant and used for washing animals the possibility for contamination , bacteria and disease must have been great. The only anti-bacterial additive I can think of at that time would have been salt. The same would apply to Siloam Pool with thousands sharing a common non-running source of water. Is there any knowledge on how they addressed this issue?

    • @drelbez
      @drelbez 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who told you the pools were non-running? Jews would need to meet the Torah standards of running water for purification.

    • @danny.the.digger
      @danny.the.digger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there was a flow of water through the pool. I once filmed in the tunnel leading from the pool into the Temple Mount (not this time).

    • @kemosabegt350geuss6
      @kemosabegt350geuss6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drelbez No one "told" me the water was non-running. At the 16 minute mark of this video Danny states that the pools were filled by the channeling of rain water. He has since answered my question that perhaps the pools were filled by a combination of rain water and a running water source. If you have more definitive information on this subject please share it with us.

    Danny....You do not understand what is being said by the phrase "Blind and the Lame" ....the Jebusites controlled Jerusalem at the time David became King of Israel and they did not believe David could take the city. So, they said to David "Except thou take away the blind and the lame: thinking David could not take the city. Of course, he did! Even offering the title of Chief and Captain to bravest men. The blind and the lame were no doubt Jebusites and by commandment of God should be totally destroyed, all of them!

    The presence of two pools with a substantial partition suggests they had different uses. Perhaps one was for worshipers and the other for preparing the sacrificial animals. Or possibly separate sides for men and women.

    Shalom and todah rabah from WEst Virginia, USA. Danny, it is a pleasure to hear you give archaeological comments throughout your videos. We have been to Jerusalem and walked past so many artifacts that we knew were important but we had no idea what we were truly looking at. Thank you! We are very interested in the pool of Bethesda because we follow the TV multiseries, The Chosen. In its second season, Jesus heals the lame man. And thank you for your scriptural reference to King David and how it relates to Jesus. I don’t think I would’ve ever put the two together. Keep on doing what you’re doing, brother. And thank you again!

    Very informative Danny, thanks from the UK.
    I'm presently making a 3D model of Jerusalem (based on Ritmeyer and Bahat) at the time of Jesus and spent the last few days on Bethesda. Your explanation of the complex levels was excellent. My structures sit on a modern topographical landscape and it's a challenge to place them on the steep slopes. Bethesda's depth adds to the problems the builders must have encountered.

    The Protoevangelium of James does not state where Mary was born. It states that, at the age of 3, she was taken up to the Temple where she would be raised by the priests, and I assume some others. At the age of 12 she was married to Joseph, a widower.

    Hey Danny, does the LIDAR technology has been used at anytime in Israel? It's been used to detect thousands of Mayans sites at Guatemala's rainforest!
    These sites are buried several feet underground. As you know, Mayans also built "in layers"...well, sort of!
    When I king passed away, the "new" king or prince will built new pyramids on top of the old ones. Anyway, thanks to this LIDAR technology, they have been able to discover -literally- thousands of sites!

    More history on the crusader tomb. Is it from the Lusignan family? They had a Jean and were an extremely prominent family with Guy being the last king of Jerusalem by his marriage to sibylla before Saladin conquered it.

    Shalom Danny!!! My archaeologist husband says archeology is the 5th Gospel. How amazing the Brit Chadasha (NT) is true, Adonai breathed!!! Adonai wrote His Word!!! What you are teaching is facts. The science of archaeology proves the acuracy of the Torah & the Brit Chadasha. So many scientific minds trust science & find it difficult to have faith in trusting that Yeshua is Messiah. Those who keep seeking will find.
