    Do you made a video on your internet/wifi set up? With so many cameras in your home I would like to know how you have your internet set up to manage so many cameras. I have 3 ring flood lights and sometimes connections is weak.

    Impressive record keeping! I don't even remember when I had my last physical! Loved your update because it gives everyone an idea of the quality of each product. I am looking forward to your solar light review because I am also looking into adding more lights to my backyard. I couldn't help but smile when you said that your ezviz camera is being used in the garage because I just set up the same thing in my garage last month. The distance between the C1C and my router is around 40ft and my garage is separate from the house with no connection problems. Keep up the hard work!

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The C1C is a pretty good camera. I check my garage every night before I turn ON the alarm just to make sure lights are off or garage door is closed (my Nexx garage notfies me too but my OCD feels better if I see it :).. and the C1C always loads up pretty quick.

      Ring basically warranties forever if you have their monthly monitoring which will never exceed 100 a year and only 30 a year with one camera.

  • @jorgeofc
    @jorgeofc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For the lights, I've noticed that programming/scheduling works way better using Alexa (routines). Even the Ring ones. I have 2 Ring Smart Bulbs and 1 Leviton In-Wall Switch bought in Amazon (the same one sold in Ring), and have all schedules done through Alexa as it performs (gets activated) a bit faster on both schedule and motion detected.
    Edit: And I'm with you. I prefer smart switches/smart plugs, than smart bulbs. They work faster and can be linked with Ring through Alexa without no issues and better performance. I might replace 2 more switches and get rid of the 2 Ring Smart Bulbs.
    PS: Thanks for all your videos. Great Job!!!

Wyze replaced the first one that quit working but when the next one quit I wasn't going to keep contacting them. I have no ties to or with Sengled, just a customer.

    • @LifeHackster

      Shadowbanned: If you see this, Sengled is headquartered in Zhejiang. "Zhejiang has a special place in Xi Jinping’s heart." No way I was going to give Philips access to my router, they are a CCP company, as in Chinese COMMUNISTS. Seeing GA, had hoped for a Made in USA product. Yes, everybody says 'where else are you going to buy elec devices but from China.'. Then again, Ring employees could watch homeowners video. With a flick of a Back door switch, millions of homes could be sent to the stone age.

    Great video. I'm interested in what platforms you use to tie everything together. I have Ring, Wyze, some GE Z wave switches, a honeywell smart stat, and a few others. I use Tinycam to bring the cameras together, but am also interested in setting up a smart tiles tablet, but not sure where to start. Therefore, I'm curious as to what you use as a main dashboard, or if you use each device's native app. Thanks!

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually use each device's app.. I use different brands more to test popular brands for long term use in this channel but I'll probably stick to 2-3 if I'm regular homeowner.

    I got the solar panel for the spot light cam battery. For almost a year I never had to change the battary or manually charge them until this year. The only difference this year is that it has the sanpshot feature now and it's on. Maybe that's why the battery is draining faster than the panel can trickle charge it...

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably.. I'm still checking.. I do remember with had several days of stormy nights and all my lights were going On and Off..due to changes in temperature that triggers their sensor and after that is when I noticed that the floodlight was offline.

  • @torinsall
    @torinsall 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    We find the Ring2 doorbell misses a LOT of important motion...it will record passing cars and people walking, but may or may not record people on the walkway, steps or on the front porch. It might record the mail/delivery truck stopping yet miss the person walking to the door...or it might record the whole thing...or miss the whole thing. Overall...while the doorbell and 2 way talk is handy, we need a MUCH more reliable camera...and one where the notification isn't so delayed the person is already gone or driving away IF we get a notification.

    When hooking up a Wasserstein Solar panel do you remove the batteries fro. Blink camera? Or do you leave batteries inside the camera? The batteries in the cameras are lithium and not rechargeable the batteries in the solar panel are obviously rechargeable. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either way.. when it is plugged in to the solar panel or an AC adapter, the battery circuit in the Blink is cut off..So, you can leave it there for backup or take them out..your choice.

    Think Wyze needs to relax with all the product releases and focus on quality not rebranding generic items with a firmware and logo. As for cameras you certainly have a great selection and I commend you for that. I got annoyed having just nest for my door and ring for everything else so swapped them all for UniFi but still not able to get any of the instant cameras in stock for weeks now so will take a look at some of those indoor models thanks again :)

    I have a Ring Doorbell at home and 3 ring cameras at my vacation home. I am thinking of adding some additional cameras at home but was hoping not to have to pay a subscription however having all the cameras in 1 app is more appealing then having several platforms. Also we use Alexa in our home so I like that the ring cameras work well on the Echo show. Was thinking abut adding a few Eufy cameras though, what would you do? Do you find it useful to have all cameras in one app?

  • @anthonyb8208

    Watching your review's on security camera's, I decided to buy the 4 camera Eufy 2C. 3 out front and one out back, I'll be getting an add on for out back of the house. So when I set these up, could I expect them to update? Is there an affordable solar + battery floodlight out there worth having to support the 2C camera's night recording in colour. Love your reviews.

      None with WIFI..Ring cameras only use WIFI when it detects motion. As to indoor cameras, I don't use cloud recordings, motion recordings to the micro SD card only. I'm assuming you have the Cam plus subscription on your Wyze cameras...Even with that, it shouldn't be a lot of data... check TV streaming services, that will also result in high internet usage.

    Thanks for this great video, LH. I have tried to get the Aootek Solar motion light here in the UK. I looked on the Amazon site and was in for a great shock.
    It sells here for £66.82 = $91.73 US. I therefore decided to give it a miss. 😊

      Wow...Aootek's are ok, not that great as to quality but for $92 bucks... No... Litoms are more well made.

    I currently have 1 ring range extender, but I added a couple more ring outdoor cameras recently. I also have some lights and motion sensors.. Can I add a 2nd range extender?

    Have you ever had the internet go down and your ring spotlights stopped working? What if that is all you have installed and someone cuts the internet cable? That is what I worry about as well as a power outage. Is That why you have battery operated ones as well?

    How did you mount the litom solar light to a window?

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Velcro strips...works pretty good. You can use 2 of them and place one inside and to light up a closet/cabinet and every once in a while, swap it with the outdoor/window one to get it charged. These are pretty versatile lights.

      I have love and hate relationship with Arlo and it is not their products but their brand and customer support. They products are overpriced for what they are and the delay and latency in the app is the slowest compared to all other brands that I have tested.
