I have the Argus 2 and I love that reolink includes mounting straps with their cameras and it's very strong my Argus been up almost 2 years and doesn't move at all in very strong wind
Hi great videos love the channel. I have a Reolink system, 9 cameras in total. I had 7 Argus Eco cameras and 2 E1 zoom. I have had 4 Ecos fail, 3 battery failures and 1 colour issue. The first Eco failure was changed under warranty. The other Eco failures were out or warranty so I change the cameras to Argus 2. On my fourth failure Eco failure i purchase an Argus 3 that lasted 6 weeks. It would no longer charge, red and orange flashing same issue as the Ecos. So i purchase an Argus 2 again. I have had no issues with the replacement Argus 2 cameras as yet. If i get any Argus 2 failures i will bite the bullet move away from Reolink. I should of said I dont live in a hot climate so battery and heat should not the issue, probably just cheaply made. So those people who have invested in another system dont feel to bad.

All your videos are interesting and quality on their own merit anyway but it's also good when you include a bit of humor and irony in your productions like you did at the beginning of this one.
I bought these cameras and don't know if people know how to charge these without a solar panel. You may charge the battery by the USB cable directly while plugging into the USB power bank or PC USB port. Normally, it's suggested to connect the Micro USB cable with a USB DC power plug(5V/2A) and plug it into the electrical outlet to charge the battery. The DC power plug is commonly used for smartphones (not included in the box). Hope this helps someone.
Thank you so much for your videos!!!! SO helpful!!!🙌🙌🙌 I am wondering...would I be able to have a few argus 3 pro cameras AND an argus pt swivel camera all working together under same app?? Also how many cameras can you have and be able tocheck on your phone? Anything helps. Thanks again!!! Another subscriber 👍
No starlight sensor and audio lag is very disconcerting. So much for upgrading. Hopefully they fix the FPS based upon your review. Reolink has always had good video quality, and this camera seems no different, but their software issues have sucked.
I have a Eufy doorbell and it's great. I bought this Argus 3 pro but this falls short of the eufy experience. The only thing that is superior with the Argus 3 pro is the incredible video quality. I may have to get some Eufy cams instead and take the hit on video quality.
@@mattp5083 Totally agree. I have Eufy cameras and Reolink cameras. Eufy has a brilliant app and user interface. Reolink App is very poor with few options. Any update on the improvement of the night frame rate on this camera 6/26/2021. It's been a little under 4 months since this video. Also, sounds like when you turned the sensitivity to 100, the human detection at night took a dump and was quite the battery drainer. Any changes? Thanks. Keep up the good work!
No motion zones is the deal breaker for me, but I do like the addition of 5ghz wireless, bigger battery and AI detection over the standard Argus 3. Weird with 6.5 fps night recording, I don't remember experiencing that on my Argus 3. You didn't go into email settings, but the standard Argus 3 also does not have the ability to email video, or email interval option, I'm hoping those have been added in also in this "pro" version. Great video as usual LH. Funny how the running man test always freezes at the exact same spot for all your tests! :)
Hey, I just came across your channel! Loved the review. I'm wanting to setup cameras that my kids can play safely outside in the backyard. Is this something you think would be a good fit for?
As mentioned below, it's great that you have standardised reviews for clear comparison, thank you :) Would be interested to hear about how the cameras perform if the internet drops out as this is important in patchy wifi areas like the entirety of Australia (!!!)
How long on average does the Argus 3 Pro last on a charge if I don't opt for the solar panel? Overall what is the best solar outdoor camera you have tested to date?
Nice vid LH, I have 4 of these and on average I loss 1% per day in not so busy area without a solar panel I have had them on for 15 days so far, and I like the fact that this model actually sends video via emails alerts too,
I purchased this camera back in September in a bundle of three, they were absolutely amazing at first, but then I noticed how quickly the battery drained, I didn't mind at first, however one of the cameras simply stopped working after charging them all again, another week went by and the other one stopped working as well, and as of three days ago, the last one stopped working as well. I'm guessing they either sent me defective cameras or Texas's weather was simply too much for these cameras. Something good worth noting though, their customer support answers pretty quickly.
Were the batteries that drained too quickly attached to solar panels for recharging? I have a couple of original Argus cameras with solar panels, and neither one of their batteries drains out completely unless there is no sun for 5 to 6 days. So I recommend getting solar panels for your cameras. The solar panels cost about 22.00 apiece on Amazon.
This looks like a great camera! Way better than my ring wired cam .. but it's battery powered. You showed the plug in to charge the camera do you think you can leave the camera plugged in charging 24/7 like if it was wired? That way you don't have to go up on a ladder every time the camera is low battery? Solar panels don't work where I live (bad experience w/ ring solar)
@@vanessajoaquin4830 I'm not sure what you mean?? You get no sunlight where you live??? Not sure how much troubleshooting you've done with Ring. Is the panel defective? My experience with Ring had been fine. My experience with other solar lighting has not been so great. I have some lights that don't seem to charge and they are fairly close together with others that do. That tells me it's the panel that's bad or battery not holding the charge. It's unfortunate, but it was fairly cheap and I can't really expect much. But Ring charges good money for their products and should replace defective products.
Kumusta! Another fantastic video! The daytime quality is great. The audio is pretty good. Just really disappointed with the nighttime fps. The alarm might scare away a rodent. The amazing part of your video is that just 2 weeks ago you were in freezing weather, and now your son is wearing short pants. Texas weather changes so fast! Thanks again for your hard work!
Unfortunately my cameras have my neighbours driveways in view, without motion zones it would constantly be going off for me. I feel that a frame rate of less than 10fps is probably also a deal breaker

Wow! Your videos are BANG ON soooo good! Been looking at too many review videos lately. Soooo confused now! What is your fave wireless cam, with solar panel charger option, color night vision, person detection, and spotlight. Right now, it's looking like Ring has the best (especially with 2 batteries) but I really don't want to pay any subscription fees. Can u make a good recommendation? Oh! I'm in Canada, where winter temps have gone as low as -33 degrees a few times. Thanks
Thanks for your reviews, they are really in depth. Your meticulous standarised comparisons are awesome. I got the Argus 3 pro now, really nice image quality as you show, but the siren is way too quiet - strange that Reolink is not providing a proper one, should be very straightforward. Annyoing that the Reolink cameras cannot be linked (e.g for simultanous spotlight and alarm trigger). Thinking also about the Reolink outdoor E1 - but the automatic tracking doesn't seem to be impressive as I see in other reviews (are you planning a review on that one?).
Great video, I have two questions - 1) how to make spotlight turn on for motion, 2) how to link the motion to some kind of alarm… the android/iPhone alerts are not enough to wake me up if someone is in my backyard!
Thanks. Is it possible to use it without the WiFi and only with the SIM card, but not to send the video over internet but to be notified about what is happening?
@LifeHackster thanks! How about longevity and reliability between the two? I keep reading the Eufy will miss quite a few events and the Reo link will always trigger if a car is in the frame(person/vehicle mode). Hearing mixed reviews for longevity on the two. Looking to make my first wireless camera setup purchase and am torn between the two, which would you go with?
Wow. Incredible picture quality. I have one toe into Eufy, two toes into Nest and 6 toes into Wyze. I really really wish one ecosystem would be ideal. I’m running out of toes!. First world problems.
Subbed & Liked! What a great video, thanks. It helped us choose between this and the Argus PT 2k. Both great cameras, except Arugus PT 2k has Pan & Tilt but unfortunately no color night vision; vs Argus 3 Pro which has the color night vision but a big deal breaker is it can't pan. Since this is for wildlife in our backyard we've decided the P&T is more important since we already have flood lights back there.
somebody said this: "I am seeing reports on Amazon that an update has been available as of 5-5 and the nighttime frame is now 15fps as intended. I ordered the Argus 3 Pro directly from Reolink and the current expected ship dates seem to be the end of next week."
Hi, I have bought the Argus 3 Pro with the solar panel, do you think the Eufy version is better? Any similar solar no cable options in 4k in a good price range?
Hey! Thanks for this great video. I got a bit lost- how long does the camera last on one charge without the solar panel? Would you say the solar panels are necessary for helping the charge last for a reasonable amount of time?
Thanks for the review. Can the Reolink Argus 3 Pro buffer/record save several seconds of video before it detects motion like Reolink ethernet wired cams with person vehicle detection?
Watched all your videos regarding the argus 3 and argus 3 pro Which if the 2 do you recommend? I don't see much of a difference to be paying a extra $90 for the pro (that's here in australia)
Just received this exact camera from reolink. Question thou. When using the Clip Zoom the picture is rather grainy. What setting do you recommend to help make this as clear as possible?
Thanks, it checks most of my needs beyond being buyable today 😅 Product page makes it seem like it has motion zones, I wonder if it'll be added. Anyway does it have a tamper and or offline alerts like Eufy? I've recently realized this feature would help alot with the rare issues of dumb sneaky teens, determined thevies and install falls.
Would you still recommend this camera today? or have you found one that is more superior? At the least I need, one that can at least do live record 24/7 and have a solar hook up
Thanks for this great review! I was already convinced but now I'm very sure this is the best product for my personal setting. Does someone know where to buy this in the EU (Germany) or somewhere else? The reolink page just says that is currently not available :/
Can i place the cam 30 feet from my modem/bluetooth spot? And what is the max distance to have a bluetooth connection? I know the Eufycam can cover this distance. Thanks for the help and info.
Hackster, can you tell me if this camera will work with it permanently plugged in. The place where I want to install it has an outdoor outlet that is not accessible to the cable being pulled out. You do good work and I rely on your videos for a lot of things... Thanx and keep it up.
Thank you for the interesting review I have the artist Pro Camera and I sent a text back to The Cellar and I'm waiting for a reply. No one has addressed how big of an SD card the camera can handle. What is the minimum size or what is the maximum size is what I'm saying. The other thing that hasn't been left out of the video unless you're living in a tropical or subtropical area and will leave Texas out of this for now the camera is only inspect to work to 13 degrees above zero. Where I live. Down to minus 23 Fahrenheit just two weeks. And the Upper Limb of that for The Argus goal is 115 Fahrenheit. The sun beating down on the solar panel and the camera can get up to a hundred and thirty degrees where I live in Colorado. I'm curious as to how this is going to affect the life of camera and the battery. At first Argos had a removable battery that could be taken out to be charged that's what the instructions say. Now it is fixed in place what is expected that you send the camera in to have the battery changed? Or is this supposed to be a throwaway item when the battery stops working the camera gets disposed of. I asked that question too and I am awaiting a response from reolink. You did not talk about solar panels. Andrea link doesn't talk about them either. The solar panel has a black rubbery coating over it. I experimented with it putting it in the sun to see if it was supposed to stay on or if I was supposed to peel that off. When I put it in a brightly-lit window the battery sensor came on and told me that it was charging. It wasn't on very long but it lit up green and stayed green once the unit was charged. So I did not peel off the black rubber coating that is over the solar panel. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Also I am off grid. Off-grid in that where I live there is no internet connection. I'm in a valley and the tower skips. I may have a weak connection during the winter but no connection at all during the summer. I purchased the data power connection. Does that mean if we'd have a natural disaster and the phone service would go down I'm screwed? I'm thinking that's the way it's going to work. I like the idea of having an alarm that goes off and I also wish I could have a camera that sweeps the area before the people start taking the car apart. I have another question that I'm waiting real links to respond to. I'm a novice at these kind of things. I want to know if I can mix different cameras with their soft work or am I confined now to a certain model or do I have to download several apps and deal with multiple apps running at the same time on an Android phone? The information does not cover multiple cameras or different styles of camera by the same manufacturer. And one last thing if you happen to buy a Wi-Fi and you wanted the data powered camera they will give you a $10 credit and tell you to they cannot take it back or don't want to take it back because they will have to dispose of it just, actually destroy it. That's how I wound up with both types of cameras Wi-Fi and data. The other problems with the routers that are Wi-Fi is there power Hogs. They're not made to be efficient the black box from an internet provider can run anywhere from 200 to 500 watts per hour. This is not a problem for the company because they are not paying your power bill. Think about it. And if you're off grid and you have solar power you're going to have to add additional power to run that Wi-Fi device. I hope that's what they call it from the antenna to the black box through the air to your computer back box. What do you expect from an old guy. LOL.
Changed my mind on the EZVIZ C1C that I go the other day, completely didn't think it was 2.4GHz only and the places where I want to fit my cameras has very weak 2.4GHz signal. However it has good 5GHz signal. From what I can tell this is the only battery powered camera on the market that is dualband, or can you suggest other ones? This one isn't available in the UK yet but I've signed up to be notified when it is.
That's weird. If both 2.4 and 5GHz wifi is transmitting from the same AP, I would expect you to get better 2.4 signal than 5 signal, not the other way around.
will the argo 2 or 3 pro link to the nvr? trying to decide to buy a base 4 cam set or get the nvr and use different cameras type for different areas of the property. some spots i want to see good at least 100ft some less distance. also would like 2way sound at front porch. i have a ring door bell but not all that happy with it
Great review. I already own this camera and the picture quality is superior than the Eufy 2C Pro. I noticed there is a slight delay with the audio when playing back clips which is slightly annoying. But overall the detection has been spot on. I also have the problem with the low frame rate at night, day time is pretty decent. The only option I can't locate is the Privacy Masking. Any ideas where this option is located please?
What about integration with Alexa or Google, what's the delay? I tested and I am having about 16 seconds delay which is useless. I was thinking in the Eufy 2C Pro isn't it 2K as well. Why does the quality not look the same?
I see you have a setup with multiple brands like Ring, Eufy and Reolink. I’m thinking of doing the same, but with an update do you think Eufy’s quality will withhold with Reolinks. In addition Ring is innovating with their 3D Motion Detection and but need to improve their quality because their ecosystem is great, but it’s not holding with the competition. I would like to just have one ecosystem. Thoughts?
@@efmarosario4953 I can't comment on the integration with Alexa or Google. In my experience these can be hit and miss and there is a delay to view the live stream. The Eufy 2C Pro is a 2k camera but I believe it uses a lot of compression and not much difference in picture between that and the regular 2C version
@@efmarosario4953 I guess all cameras have their strengths and weaknesses. Overall I do prefer Eufys ecosystem. it's just a shame about the video quality compared with a Reolink product.

Thanks. Is it possible to use it without the WiFi and only with the SIM card, but not to send the video over internet but to be notified about what is happening?
This one is WIFI based so there is no SIM card. They do have models that use LTE connection which uses a Sim Card.
Great video my man! Would you choose this over the Eufy 2c Pro?
I think so! the only thing with Eufy is their rich notifications and I'm hoping Reolink would add this feature on their camera line up.
@LifeHackster how about the app's user interface vs Eufy?
@@mrtosh I’ll go with eufy..more user friendly
@LifeHackster thanks! How about longevity and reliability between the two? I keep reading the Eufy will miss quite a few events and the Reo link will always trigger if a car is in the frame(person/vehicle mode). Hearing mixed reviews for longevity on the two. Looking to make my first wireless camera setup purchase and am torn between the two, which would you go with?
Wow. Incredible picture quality. I have one toe into Eufy, two toes into Nest and 6 toes into Wyze. I really really wish one ecosystem would be ideal. I’m running out of toes!.
First world problems.
Same here
Subbed & Liked!
Which camera I should get if both audio and video quality is important for me? I have Wyze v3 and audio is terrible!
This one has good audio in the recording..Eufy has good audio too.
Hi. I see this cam is quite good at night. If you compare this one versus Reolink PoE cam. Is it worth the upgrade to PoE?
Any updates on whether the fps at nigh improved to 15fps?
somebody said this: "I am seeing reports on Amazon that an update has been available as of 5-5 and the nighttime frame is now 15fps as intended. I ordered the Argus 3 Pro directly from Reolink and the current expected ship dates seem to be the end of next week."
Your videos are great, thanks for all the effort.
Hi, I have bought the Argus 3 Pro with the solar panel, do you think the Eufy version is better? Any similar solar no cable options in 4k in a good price range?
So helpful, thanks for all the great info!
Hey
I’m considering buying this camera
Can you tell if the solar is enough to charge the battery on all day recording ?
Please let us know if they fix the night time frame rate. I was sold on these cameras until I saw the night video, very poor for anything moving.
Not yet.. but they are planning to release a firmware update to increase it.
57,871 emails? You are one important man.
:)
@@LifeHackster does argus 3 pro and argus 3 not have 24/7 recording?? Is it just a motion detection cam? Thanks
Hey! Thanks for this great video. I got a bit lost- how long does the camera last on one charge without the solar panel? Would you say the solar panels are necessary for helping the charge last for a reasonable amount of time?
Did you end up getting this camera?
No i went with a hard wired version of the reolink! The lumus
Thanks for the review. Can the Reolink Argus 3 Pro buffer/record save several seconds of video before it detects motion like Reolink ethernet wired cams with person vehicle detection?
Watched all your videos regarding the argus 3 and argus 3 pro
Which if the 2 do you recommend? I don't see much of a difference to be paying a extra $90 for the pro (that's here in australia)
Thank you for the review. Just a question. Can you check recorded videos in the app if you don't use reocloud? (not available in my country).
I think you will need a memory card to see the excerpts taken in the past
Superb review - thanks 👍🏻
very good test, but did you check how fast it record after motion control? In Argus eco it tooks sometime 5 or more seconds
Just received this exact camera from reolink. Question thou. When using the Clip Zoom the picture is rather grainy. What setting do you recommend to help make this as clear as possible?
Are you able to view cameras from a computer or just the app on a phone. I use Macs specifically. Thanks!
Hi! great video! I have a question, I have heard that it has problem´s with VPN? do you know anything about that?? thanks from Sweden.....
Hi - were you able to connect this wifi camera to the NVR reolink system?
Ho, do you got answer about connect the camera wi fi to the nvr Reolink ? Thank 's
Thanks, it checks most of my needs beyond being buyable today 😅
Product page makes it seem like it has motion zones, I wonder if it'll be added. Anyway does it have a tamper and or offline alerts like Eufy? I've recently realized this feature would help alot with the rare issues of dumb sneaky teens, determined thevies and install falls.
Would you still recommend this camera today? or have you found one that is more superior? At the least I need, one that can at least do live record 24/7 and have a solar hook up
They now have a 4k version of this...as to 24/7 recording, go with a wired NVR setup..I use Reolink.
Not reliable, get something better
Thanks for this great review! I was already convinced but now I'm very sure this is the best product for my personal setting.
Does someone know where to buy this in the EU (Germany) or somewhere else? The reolink page just says that is currently not available :/
I have contacted Reolink and I have been told they will be releasing the Argus 3 Pro (EU) shortly but did not give me a date.
you can buy it from You can buy the camera on AliExpress from the official company Reulik
Can i place the cam 30 feet from my modem/bluetooth spot? And what is the max distance to have a bluetooth connection? I know the Eufycam can cover this distance. Thanks for the help and info.
Did they fixed the issue u mention ?
In one of the updates ?
Im planning on getin new cameras...
Thanks for the review. I can't wait for their E1 Outdoor model...but 3x optical zoom is not that much of a zoom lol.
Hackster, can you tell me if this camera will work with it permanently plugged in. The place where I want to install it has an outdoor outlet that is not accessible to the cable being pulled out. You do good work and I rely on your videos for a lot of things... Thanx and keep it up.
It can be plugged in..it will continually charge the battery.
Ring should definitely release upgraded versions of their cameras. They are getting left behind especially with the audio quality.
are you able to view clips from past days? for example are you able to view or see clips from lets say 2 weeks ago?
Been playing with this and it seems great. But how do you delete vidoes recordings from the Micro SD Card without taking it out of the camera?
When would it be available to purchase ❓
It should be soon. I don't have a specific date.
Reolink twitter told me end of April
@@Grave79 thank you
Thank you for the interesting review I have the artist Pro Camera and I sent a text back to The Cellar and I'm waiting for a reply. LOL.
I am open to advice just be civil about it okay guys.
Battery and cold weather don't mix. If you can get a wired system, it will be better and more reliable than a battery powered one.
Well explained thank you.
Love your video's, I need a camera for in a bird House. Wil this camera focus on short distance? Let say15cm?
Changed my mind on the EZVIZ C1C that I go the other day, completely didn't think it was 2.4GHz only and the places where I want to fit my cameras has very weak 2.4GHz signal. However it has good 5GHz signal. From what I can tell this is the only battery powered camera on the market that is dualband, or can you suggest other ones?
This one isn't available in the UK yet but I've signed up to be notified when it is.
you can but it from aliexpress website
I couldn't find it too. I'm hoping it is going to on an update together with motion zones.
How long does the camera last on a single charge without a solar panel?
hi,i have this argus 3 pro and i have a question, now is winter and the camera is watching in 90 degrees down, and this camera has the speaker on the back ,any problem if the water goes inside or i need to cover with piece a tape the speaker??? thanks...
It is weather resistant.
They have started to ship this camera out. Just wondering if you know if they fixed their nighttime FPS?
I am seeing reports on Amazon that an update has been available as of 5-5 and the nighttime frame is now 15fps as intended. I ordered the Argus 3 Pro directly from Reolink and the current expected ship dates seem to be the end of next week.
@@coastalcarolina1 Great news. Tks.
@@coastalcarolina1 thx
Can you please do a video comparing the blink outdoor cámara vs the ring stick up cámara both outdoor please
Is this better than the Eufy S40?
Can. You do a updated 2022 Wi-Fiesh system or a way to get better signals to Wi-Fi cameras not close to the modem pls!!
Was the issue with the low frame rate at night resolved??? I been looking at these.
Is it possible to view live feed on a laptop, ipad, Mac computer or a smart t.v.? Thanks!
