    Buy the Makita battery adapters you saw in this video: amzn.to/3Hyi8w9
    Buy a pack of XT60 connectors like you saw in this video: amzn.to/3Ubv6r5
    Buy an Anker Solix C1000 power station like you saw in this video: amzn.to/3Ubv4PZ
    Search for other adapters for different batteries and power stations: amzn.to/40KEnHx

    Awesome to see others experimenting with tool batteries like I have been for several years. The Ryobi batteries, in particular, have power tool adapters that only need a fuse and connector added to be able to extend usefulness of the solar generators. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!

    I just bought an Anker Solix C1000. I have a bunch of Ego batteries from all of theirtools I already own.. I bought an Ego Nexus. That device plugs into one of my Ego batteries and provides 400 watts of power to a standard outlet.

      You’re going to LOVE your Anker Solix C1000! And glad you have a good setup with your Ego stuff. So long as those batteries don’t exceed the voltage input on the Anker, you might be able to get an adapter for those and expand the capacity of the Anker like I showed in this video. But I’m not 100% sure since I don’t have Ego stuff to test with. Thanks for watching!

    You can just make yourself your own power station only with the batteries you own.
    From the very beginning you can look for an inverter that fits a voltage that you can obtain from your makita batteries, example 36v (2 in serial), and to obtain more power you can add in parralel too. But with a diode in serial so if one pack has more volts it would not empty itself in the less voltage pack. But when you pull strong, it will provide amps to help .
    Basically I find very useless to have unused batteries like this power station used only sometimes.
    Better to have like you , a bunch of batteries from your favorite tool brand.
    And when you want a power lamp, you have a hack with a car led , when you may need 230 Ac you take the inverter hack, when you want to ride electric bicycle you attach 2 or 3 packs to your bike (the one I purchased for cheap because it’s original batteries were dead 😊)
    Yes that’s what I am doing. 3print adapter + aliexpress connectors…
    Etc etc etc

      Yep! You’re exactly right! All these things could work with the power tool batteries as well! Thanks for watching!

    How is the fan noise? Are people making complaints over nothing,,, like on a constant 150 w load

    • @theresatrickforthat
      @theresatrickforthat  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has multiple speeds it runs at depending on the load. 150w would probably turn the fan on eventually but it won’t run continuously with a load that small. I’ve certainly heard quieter fans on a power station…but at its lower levels I hardly notice it…even at night when I’m asleep. Now, if it ramps up to a higher speed it definitely starts to get a bit louder. Cool idea. Do you think there a risk of over discharging the makita batteries and damaging them?

    • @theresatrickforthat
      @theresatrickforthat  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you! No risk with the Makita batteries since they have a built in BMS that will shut them down automatically on low voltage cut off. I can’t speak for other brands. Thanks for watching!

    doubling the voltage but not doubling the amps...um physics?

    • @theresatrickforthat
      @theresatrickforthat  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep! When you connect batteries in series it doubles your voltage which is what I did. If you connect batteries in parallel it doubles your amps. Both ways will give you the same sum of watts so in this case since I had more voltage overhead on the input of the power station than I did with the amps, I did a series connection to get more watts into the power station. Thanks for watching!

    • @jameskan823
      @jameskan823 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theresatrickforthatHigher voltage (series) under the same load (1 Anker) is higher amps. Same voltage (parallel) with the same load (1 Anker) is the same amps going into the load. Please refresh your Kirchoff's laws or you will kill your Anker a lot faster. This can also be dangerous.

      I'm with ya bud. How is it a hack when it's labeled right there on the port that it is capable of exactly what you're doing and it's meant for it? A hack, tip, or trick would be opening the thing up and maybe replacing an existing bad cell with one of your drill cells or something of that nature. But hey, you got us to comment lol. Sorry to be negative.
