1 Simple Lawn Hack for Domination in Late Spring!
Can you please enlighten me on this. Like a link or a post with tabel of operation/consumption for inverter units. I looked all other the place and could not find a single reference to the inveter units and they power usage. Thank you in advance. But then I type in goggle the Tons and BTUs and Seer ratings, it gives me wattage rightaway. I am not doughting what you saying, just need some numbers behind the words, or some links or some references.
I got this, but the question is: why they ramping up beyond the the watt/BTU/Seer rating . For example if 1 Ton 12000 BTUs at Seer 18 max power draw per Google is 600W then they ramp up to 900w this makes them like Seer 12 or even 10. And sellers should state this in they manuals. Max ramp up should be 600w corect? I have 2 Ton ACiQ Seer 20 witch is similar to MR. Cool in many ways. Then I crank it up it to max it consumes like 4300w. My old 15 year Goodman heatpump I replaced was 1.5 Ton 13 Seer, it consumed 1500w max on any settings.
Might want to do some more research on how the SEER rating it measured for an inverter system it seems. Thanks for watching! \
Unit draws too much then it runs. If it is 20 Seer 12000 BTUs it should draw no more the 600W. If it draws 900W at 12000 BTUs it is 12 Seer unit.
Beauty of inverter compressors! They can ramp up and down as needed. Thanks for watching!
How many of these would you need to 100% offset this pool pump? I have dc solar power pumps that will run off of two solar panels that may be more practical than a full array of panels to run 1 pump. What are your thoughts on that?
DC pumps are certainly more efficient, and if you combine it with batteries, you wouldn’t have to worry about it not running when the sun isn’t shining. But if you have an existing AC pump like mine, I can use the grid as a battery and offset as much energy with my solar as I have money for. So just depends on your setup and budget. Thanks for watching!
How would you handle AC failure being there would be no load in that event with a contactor energized
I guess it would depend what the failure is. A lot of compressors when they die, will short to ground which would cause the breaker to trip and obviously disconnect everything from the grid so the solar would not function. Thanks for watching!
Hey man nice vid you got there! A question, what do you call the 12v cable you plugged in your freezer test?
Thank you very much! Not sure if it has an official name. A 12v DC car charging cable maybe? Sorry I don’t know the official answer. Thanks for watching!
Extremely informative! Thanks for taking time to make this
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Eliminate. 😂
Absolutely can! Just got to scale it big enough! Thanks for watching!
I hate to say it but that unit uses about 50amps at start up. So that 100 solar panels.
No need to hate to say it! It’s true! (However in my case, it only takes about 22 amps to start due to my soft start unit) but even still, that’s more than the solar produces! So the grid makes up the difference which is the magic of this setup, you can scale the solar at the rate one can afford and the grid will make up the difference! Thanks for watching!

I have a desktop computer and monitor that requires 900 watts of power. This unit is rated for 800 watts. Is it safe to run my desktop and monitor on this?
I wouldn’t chance it. Thanks for watching!
can build your own unit for 6 cents a watt hour... i can believe the price lol.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!

If you went downstairs and tripped your main breaker.... Put your meter to the bus bars on your fuse box it would read power correct.. 1.7 amps on each leg....????
Yes…and no. You won’t get any power out of the inverter because it will shut down without seeing the grid. Thanks for watching!
Watch the original video here where I convert my standard A/C unit to solar: th-cam.com/video/RQ3IIj8rDNw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sharing this! We were wondering if you held the toothpick with glue, silicone or something
My pleasure! Nope! The toothpick is held in place by me just jamming it in there! Thanks for watching!
If you have a 2 way meter, couldn’t you feed it straight into the disconnect and feed it all day?
Yes in theory. Check with your local utility first. Thanks for watching!
For a 4090 computer how much time you think j will have?
Probably a little bit less than my test. I have an overclocked 3080 at the moment. Thanks for watching!
Illegal without a grid-tie net-metering agreement even though you're using all the power you generate because you connected your power source to their grid while the contactor is closed. Of course, who's really gonna know. But if you get caught, you could be heavily fined. You'd be better off disconnecting the AC grid source from the motor contactor completely and getting standard non-grid-tie inverters and more solar panels to directly power the blower and/or compressor without any grid.
Some day I hope to have a big system like that. And as the disclaimer said, do not attempt this yourself. This is for entertainment purposes only and should not be repeated. Better to involve a licensed electrician. Thanks for watching!
Sorry pal, but that microwave draws around 1100 watts NOT 100 amps!!! Get your act together when you speak of such details/terms/specificity/units of electrical measurement! Otherwise, you'll just embarrass yourself and somebody like myself will end up calling you you out! Either you do know what it is that you are talking about, BUT if not; don't even bother!!
So question…if I am drawing 1800 watts for the microwave from the inverter…how many amps am I drawing from the battery at 12V to power the inverter and microwave. Pretty sure it’s over 100amps of current from that battery. Simple math my friend! Volts x Amps = Watts. If that math is too difficult, you may be interested in seeing this video of another battery test I did that has an app which shows the watts and current in real time as the microwave runs. th-cam.com/video/5WjaC7mgRwU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0OR4fE1P5eMYTrKm Enjoy! And thanks for watching!
@@theresatrickforthat, To point at a Microwave as you did in the video and say that it uses 100 amps without actually saying just how much it actually uses is quite alarming! If by saying that in computational terms such as: This inverter while having a draw of let's just say with AC type of measurements:1500W divided by 120 V equals 12.5 amps.. Over the decades, you have had 900w, 100w, 1100w models and actual full on commercial models in large commercial kitchens that use I suppose 1800 Watts let's just say. So based on a big if not huge commercial microwaves use 1800 watts; 1800 divided by 120 volts typical would be 15 amps, which by far is only the most legal amount of power and amperage allowed on an individual standard household 120 VAC outlet period!! So that was AC computational math being used. Now with the use of a DC inverter, Dc computational math while determining the actual power that a home product is actually using is a bit different in that the inverter is using power as well, what is power that is being lost through the conversion process from DC to AC across a an amperage load. The math is a bit more different!! To arbitrarily point at the device and say that it uses 100 amps is kinda nutso whereby it doesn't completely explain the ACTUAL amount of amperage or wattage that is being consumed by the product itself!! Sure, the inverter may be using 100 amps through a power conversion process over a said period of time, but hells bells, power consumption that you are trying to profess is total consumption of BOTH the product and the amount of power that the inverter is also using (power of which is a big loss thru the conversion of power) from DC to AC. Losses of such are also in watts as well mind you! This pointing at a product and arbitrarily saying that it uses 100 amps is just quite wrong no matter how you slice it! Now a days, I suppose through the use of inverter technology that is already built into a microwave itself there MIGHT be an 1800 watt cooking capacity that is deemed usable within a home that might be worth exploring but you are actually talking about a microwave that uses 15 amps at the AC level which would actually exceeds the legally standard allowed rated household outlet. The amounts of power that is lost through the power inverter conversion from DC to AC is not only alarming but actually quite insane and those losses is thru heat that is generated and dissipated from the inverter itself! There is no real power conversion that is clean and efficient, especially when converting DC to AC. The losses while in the conversion processes is quite staggering and insane at the same time period! Just don't point to the product and say that it uses 100 amps what ever you do, because that is not the truth and heart of the matter!!! The combined load of the product itself and the inverter might be upwards into 100 amps draw DC wise over a said period of time. To be able to convert DC to AC you have a dirty power conversion AND a dirty way of doing the math as well! I know, it isn't rocket science but the cold hard truth is power losses just with the use of a power inverter alone should tell yah on the DC sides of things is quite staggering!!! Power losses over a load such as the Microwave PLUS (the load of the Inverter) for the conversion process which produces heat in the way of losses equals the total power consumption.
Appreciate it!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!

just got 2 because of this video.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
My is 20 amp . 3 ton heatpump
Sweet!
Is that freon line sweating? You might want to use foam insulation wrap. It help cooling the house. Just an advice. I noticed the line uncovered
Thank you for the observation! And thanks for watching!
Delivering 1200 watts should be enough to run a 700 watt microwave (with inverter losses). I have an older 1000 watt power station that can only power the one 600 watt microwave on the market. For Nomads looking for a backup power source I think it would be worth the $499 price for a Bluetti AC180 to have 1800 watts available, charge in 1 hour (instead of 1.6) and charge with 500 watts of solar or dc-to-dc auto charger (instead of 200). The advertised weight of the Egritech is only 22 pounds (vs the 37.4 pounds for the Bluetti AC180) which is a big plus for moving this thing around.
Great thoughts! Yes! The Egretech is very light! Makes it very portable! Thanks for watching!
Nice! Would it work for mini splits?
Only the old style that has a contactor. Thanks for watching!
I did it with a DC motor heat pump and started, including it in my residential solar sales, and everybody is insanely happy with it and how well it works and it fixes so many other problems with math when it comes to energy that it’s unbelievable. Of course that’s in states where air-conditioning isthe largest load like here in Texas
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and for watching!
I can still buy a 12 volt 7 AH SLA for less than that per watt-hour.
Yikes! A 12V 7Ah Sealed Lead Acid Battery would not be a good option compared to this! Thanks for watching!
@theresatrickforthat I'm only citing the one size I've owned and used. The watt-hour per cost is pretty much the same through the various sizes if you want to compare value based on ~ $.24 per watt-hour. Multiply that times your watt-hour rating for a more relevant comparison. Let me know the results. I'm genuinely interested.
Can you charge the battery that comes with it while it is running?
Good question…I don’t have the actual Wave 2 Battery. I just use my power stations to run it, so I can’t answer that question…but I’m sure someone who watches this does and can add more insight for you. Thanks for watching!
Ok you have a positive and negative going to the micro inverter , out of the inverter you have 2 hot legs hooked to the down side of the switch. Did you ground it also.
Just connect the grounds to the appropriate grounding points on the A/C, Inverter, and Solar Panels. Thanks for watching!
For anybody that owns one a quick note: if you push the button once when you are running on battery, it will mute the beeping sound.
Ummmm….on mine if you push the button on battery it will shut the unit down. So yes, it will stop the beep, but you’ll also lose power to everything. Thanks for watching!
@theresatrickforthat no, just press it quickly but do not hold. Maybe mine is a revised model but give it a try
No solar panel useless
It does support solar…just not a ton of it! Thanks for watching!
we kinda need the specs of you pc thougth. the total W is nice
There’s so many details you could get into! But I figured for this video, the watts wove the most important. Thanks for watching!
You have really done your homework I've been considering a power station. 🧐😲🤔
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
I'm new to the solar generators and still learning, but a similar adapter seems to make sense for my setup. I have the Delta Mini (882wh) with no expansion port, but it does have 300w solar input. I also have 40v kobalt batteries, a 4ah and a 5ah. With no load on the Mini, do you know how could i roughly calculate the amount of charge I'd add too it with both batteries?
40v x 4ah = approximately 160wh. Run the same calculation for the 5ah battery and add the two results for both batteries together and that will give you a ballpark idea of the power they’d add to your setup. Thanks for watching!
@theresatrickforthat hey thanks for the reply. I guess I'm smarter than I thought, that's exactly the math I was doing. About 360wh total, 882wh in the Mini so realistically maybe adding 30% charge. Am I right in thinking I'd have to add some kind of system to prevent fully draining the batteries when using an adapter like this?
Was your refrigerator cold already/been running?
Yes…just as if the power had gone out. Thanks for watching!
Can you get away with running it on eco mode?
Yes! And it uses lots less power. You may want to check this video out where I test the difference…just know it’s in heat mode, not cooling in this video: th-cam.com/video/bBbEdCg6hms/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YL1q4tEXYHN51v9P
I have a 1200w 1000wh power station that is rated for a max input of 200watts, i got for emergency. I don't get much sunlight do to were I live. I get 15v in from solar panel i put in the window and was wondering if,I connect one of those 10a 12v-24v, converters to solar panel then converter to input of power station, will that help.?
Probably not. I would just add more solar. Thanks for watching!
Great Video! Thank you for taking the time to create this video. The reason why I wanted to find a video like yours is that I just got my unit today ans want to put extra LFP batteries connected to it to extend the backup time. Please be aware that this until uses 24 volts so you will need either 1 - 24 volt or 2 - 12 volt batteries in series to power the unit. I also wish they would include a plug to add extra battery backup. I will just have to add plugs for my extra batteries myself.
Glad it was helpful! Best of luck to you and your expansion endeavors! Thanks for watching!
Yeah but he said nothing about how much it cost at the present time so therefore I'm not interested goodbye
At the moment it’s still on sale for the same price! Just got to apply my coupon code! Thanks for watching!
Water heater, furnace, fridge and stove and deep freeze. You could do legs for each and just need grid connection for lights.
Maybe so!
Why not disconnect it totally from the grid totally. That way you don’t have to worry about back feeding to the grid.
That’s what the contactor does! Thanks for watching!
Awesome !
Thanks! And thank you for watching!
Thx u
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
I got mine for 289 couple days a go. I love mine
Awesome to hear! Thanks for watching!
Outstanding video testing this particular 12V LiFePO4 battery charging various real life uses in an emergency or otherwise. Kudos and bravo!
Thank you very much! And thanks for watching!
Series , so more then the one battery, buy enough to run a week .
That would be nice indeed!
With invertor yes but how long us the question
Not sure I understand…but thanks for watching!
