I've seen people scam small business owners with PayPal countless times. It can be a hard hit for some. There's no legitimate reason for someone to insist using it. Especially if the transaction is done in person. You can't even trust cash from people like that. Safest thing I could think of is a USPS money order or cashier's check from your own bank. I think both can be verified with a phone call.

I need to say something about your comment. You are dead right! I'm a landscaper and do mainly high-end projects. I've only had four clients in the last eight years that were incredibly difficult to work with. One, they were usually rude or demanding BEFORE I signed them up. Two, they complained or were unreasonable almost from the get go. Three, extremely slow to pay progress payment per contract as the job progressed. Four, either make us re-do something or expected us to do stuff for free that was NOT part of the contract! They became problem customers. One day it just hit me, the ONLY bad customers I had were the ones that could not afford us! They should have never hired us! They bullied us to get a more expensive job at a lower price. Threats of "I'll leave a bad review", or I'll tell my friends use to work.
I worked very hard to always please my customers but I finally said enough is enough. I am much more selective on my clients and I do not do things for free. Period! And I haven't had a bad client in over three years now! Much happier with no Karens to deal with! Stick to your guns.

I am a car dealer in NJ with $6,000 and under cars. This video couldn’t be more closer to the truth. The cheaper the car, the worse the customer. I deal with these a-holes every week. I sell manufactured and modular homes for a living. Same can be said for this industry. They want the world and expect it for pennies and in most cases they don't have a dime to their names. The ONLY time it's worth even trying to sell to these people is because they have land. They have family land that was given to them, typically free and clear and that is the ONLY reason they get my time.

When I sold cars as a dealer, I had plenty of such experiences.
One evening, as I was getting ready to go home around 9:30 pm, a couple of guys walked in, stating that they needed a reliable car, but only had 1, 200 dollars. Which, because we had to collect taxes and registration, translated to roughly 900 bucks for the car. I had 2 cars that I could sell them and make about 75 bucks each. One was an extremely well running 1987 chevy 4 door with a straight body and weak paint, the other was a very good looking piece of shit Cadillac Cimarron. If you know anything about cars, the Cimarron is one that should never have existed. Anyway, I told them to buy the chevy, as it had at least 6 months left in it, and stay far away from the Cimarron, mostly because my partner had purchased it in a package deal and they absolutely SUCK. They insisted on the Cimarron. I told them to come back tomorrowand buy it from my partner as I didn't want to sell a known lemon. They insisted and I just said, ok, but you're signing a document that says it's a piece of shit. They did.
And STILL tried to return it a week later when it broke down.
Towed it to my front gate, blocking all my cars and insisted on a full refund. I called them and gave them 20 minutes to get it towed to wherever they wanted or I would have it impounded at their expense. They moved it, but still called me a crook.
    Cheap people are unbelievable.

The original owner decided that she didn't want to drive a manual transmission every day after all. Her loss, my gain. With proper maintenance, nothing extraordinary, I got another 100,000 miles out of that car without problems. Original clutch. Original struts. All the original engine ancilliaries. I only sold it to get something nicer. Sure, the trim was cheap. In fact, the whole interior felt plastic-y and cheap. But it never let me down once. That little Cavy was absolutely stone reliable (Don't get me started on the Honda Accord that replaced the Cavalier! 💩)

My moronic neighbor rents, what a dumbass!! He could have sold his house for triple making $800K but he rented and made $40K and the does not include repairs and not the real estate market is starting to collapse. Remember the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", it no longer applies in specificity, sell it !! Anyone renting a house is an idiot !! SELL, dump it! The OTHER neighbor paid under $900K and sold it 1 year later for $1.4 million while the other neighbor made a $40K minus interest minus repairs, $600K to the white couple while the cheap Chinese neighbors LOST money renting. Trust me, many Asians are dumb.
We made a LOT more selling my condo and investing any gains it then from renting it. I am still trying to figure out legal ways to use the money.

My boss back in Charlotte had a killer way of dealing with rude people.
He kept the business cards of his competitors in his wallet, and at the slightest sign of rudeness would politely hand competitors card to person and explain how much better his competitor is and "you really should go talk to him".
Person would then get all "I don't want to.. blah blah blah" and my boss would say "I'm sorry, I have nothing to sell you. I do not need more customers you see I have plenty, I need less customers in fact and I am starting with you! Congratulations!".. I loved that guy he was the best!

I get charge back attempts all the time. I'm in Ireland but the card issuers/banks here do not automatically charge it back and then ask the question later. They send the charge back notice and give a date for a valid response, usually a month. After that, if they receive no response, they will charge it back. Once I supply a copy of the receipt there's no problem and I never hear from them again.

The dealer I recently got my car from was a huge headache. I never asked about the price or if he was firm on it. He told me the price after all the fees/taxes and I handed over the cash. Then he received my tag and NEVER contacted me to come pick it up. I eventually (over a month later) called the dmv, then asked him where my tag was, and his response was, "How are you driving around so long without your tag?". When I showed up to get it, his brother WITH A BOX FULL OF TAGS fiddled through it even though he knew where mine was for over 5 minutes just to further inconvenience me. I guess sometimes even doing your best to be a good customer doesn't always pay off.

@Wales Eakes Well I've been in business 9 years and it's never happened. I think it's because the bank charges you a pretty good fee for bouncing one... whereas card companies "guarantee satisfaction" for your transaction, therefore all you have to do is call and whine about something whether it be true or not and they reverse the transaction.

Not always true. I run a home inspection company and even with signed agreements, proof of reports delivered and emails from the client thanking us for a great job and confirming receipt of reports and multiple emails with follow up questions and an email saying they backed out of the purchase of the home because the seller refused to fix a major structural problem and thanking us for saving them from a surprise 30k+ repair PayPal still sided with the client.
Small claims court Judge on the other hand told them to pay up in cash plus extra fees or he'd call the local po and have him arrested for fraud. But I still lost because I had to take a day off of work to go to court and the extra fees didn't cover that, just the bank fees that I lost and judge wouldn't allow the extra for lost time.

There is no black and white with Paypal. They have terms, but if Paypal rules in the favor of the wrong person, they all go out the window and it turns into a dogfight.
I'm not going to sit here and discuss scenarios, but as we see in the video someone is objectively being a scumbag right? If Paypal wrongly rules in her favor, our boy over here can still win, but it depends how hard he's willing to fight for it. I may turn into hours and hours on hold, and talking with 12 different people - It can border on not being worth it.
