Crab cakes like Michelle's for sure but the deviled crab like you made it would be a close second. Unfortunately, most restaurants only wave the crabmeat over the mixture in most seafood restaurants.
Michelle is a wonderful asset to the family show. Her smile and down to earth attitude fit right in with what I enjoy most about watching you and yours over the years. ❤
Paula can still cook!! She was punished for letting slip out words my MIL used as a child without repercussions sometime what you learned when a child slips out as an adult. You think of what you were gonna say and you can hear that voice from the past saying what by todays standards isnt politically correct. And thats what your head thinks comes out as your answer you probably dont even realize it unless someone points it out. To you
Such a treat to meet Michelle and watch you 2 ladies in the kitchen. Please thank her for us and tell her we would love to see more of her. You ladies are great together. Also...I think a colab with Jamie and Michelle would be great! They both have such great personalities. I think they would make a great show to watch.
Loving Michelle!!!! So good to see Dad and daughter enjoying time with each other, making memories is what it’s all about!!!! And I’m in love with your beautiful kitchen!!!!!
We drove across country from Virginia to NV in May due to an illness in our family. We drove our Motor coach which usually spends all it’s time at the beach. I ran out of Dukes. I thought what in the world will I would do without Duke’s in the middle of Summer. I got online and bought 2 jars of Dukes sent to me by mail. This was one of the best shows you have ever done.
Michelle is a perfect addition to Paula’s narration of everything. There is no “put on”, just pure personality! I also like hearing the camera person add some comments along the way!! These two videos of crabbing and cooking crab meat have been delightful!!
Just a comment from a Maryland guy. Mix all the wet ingredients together before you stir, you just want to fold the crab meat once so the meat doesn't break up.
Thank You sooo much Michele! 👏😘You are a doll! I really enjoyed watching you & your Dad catching the crab together such Great fun & memories. And then today watching you make them cakes they sure did look delicious! Yummmm! I love crab, lobster, shrimp etc. too Again Thank You sooo much you are sooo sweet❣️Take Care and God Bless 🙏❤️
I love when there are people in the kitchen with you Paula!! Brings back memories of holidays in the kitchen with my mom! You always bring a smile to my face!! Thank you for sharing with us!
Paula, THANK YOU!! You and your team are doing such a fabulous job of giving us these entertaining videos, it’s so nice to see something just a little different, going outside and giving us a birds eye view of pulling in the crab traps, and the river. And then this video cooking them up in the different ways! Also very much enjoyed your video of the trip to 7th Heaven and the plant nursery!! Love you Paula!! I can’t wait to tune in every day! Thanks again❤️
Michelle is so pretty and those dimples when she smiles make me happy. We have 3 huge Crabs from the Pacific Ocean in our freezer so I'll try Michelle's crab cake recipe but use Paula's air fryer method. Making an omelet with some of the crab cake sounds yummy. I enjoyed watching both episodes with the crabbing and preparing them. I love you all in Christ. Hugs to each of you.
I’ve never been a crab cake or deviled crab person. I spent a lot of my growing up years living in Horry County, SC and Brunswick County, NC and we had crab everything. I agree 💯 with y’all the difference is the bread or stuffing they mix in. I like y’all’s way crab with your crab. Yummy. Thank for letting us be a part of your Paula Deen family. God Bless& Happy Sunday😊
I loved watching both of these videos! Living in Indiana, crabbing is something I have never experienced. Michelle has such a sweet ere about her, what a lovely person! It was wonderful to watch family just hanging out and cooking together in the kitchen, a rarity in this day and age. Heartwarming!
Awww! This is probably one of my favorite videos so far. Relaxed and long and genuine family cooking. What is it about Michele that you just really love her the second you “meet” her? She is simply fantastic!!!
Sorry with all the loud laughter, I missed some of the ingredients. I'm not saying not to laugh, would you send me ingredients please?? So what is the difference in recipe making deviled crab and crab cakes? How long do you cook fresh crab in the shell?? Thank you!!!
I'm so hungry for crab cakes now that I'm going to the grocery store and buy some fresh crab meat this afternoon! Yours look absolutely delicious, and Michelle is a wonderful asset to your lovely new kitchen Paula. Glad to see you using Duke's mayonnaise. It's the only name brand mayo that has no sugar in it.
I swear, Paula. I have loved this house from your show for so many years. I can’t understand how you ever left it! Just perfect! I just had a birthday. My sweet hubby took me out for dinner. I ordered crab. I had always struggled with opening the shell with the nutcrackers they provide. So I took my kitchen shears. It cuts right through the shell so I could get to the meat. It made it so much easier!
This was so good to watch. I think we all feel as though we know Michael and that he’s the coolest. It was really sweet to watch you and Michelle (and Michael) cook and enjoy together. And I’m so hungry now. Lol
Thank you for sharing the recipe. I'm going to make some today. Thank you Paula for the videos I look forward to seeing them each day. Always love and best dishes Paula.
Paula, OMG. It was so great to find you on you tube. Being from Maryland I have to honestly say, those crab cakes looked out of this world. Michelle's mixture was on point. One thing she may want to add is a little bit of mustard. Please keep up the great work.
Hi guys. I watched part one and two. My mouth was watering for even just a taste of those cakes. Michael and Michelle have such a sweet father, daughter relationship. And Paula, you just fit right in there with them.
This was so much fun to watch!! Michelle and Paula are adorable together. I love the shows. Paula has always been so wonderful to watch. And her cooking-tremendous. 😊❤️❤️❤️
What a great video and recipes. Loved it. No chance I will ever get to make it over here in Germany until we have crab's in the black Forrest, but I did really enjoy watching you all having fun.
Oh Paula, my crab-eating-buddy (my son) is offshore right now. You’ve inspired me to indulge in our favourite food as soon as he gets back. When I was a kid, the whole fam would send the day on the pier with our chicken necks tied to a string and dropped into the water. Around sundown Daddy would build a fire to bring a washtub of water to a boil and we boiled and ate our crab feast. That was almost 60 years ago but it seems like yesterday.
I love you, Paula and I'm so glad to find you on You Tube. I like what you said about your dogs, they are just like children, with their own personalities. God bless you Paula!
Miss Michelle is just lovely and what a blessing to have in your family. I enjoyed watching her and Mr Michael crabbing yesterday. Her crab cakes and Miss Paula's deviled crab both look so good. Thank you ladies for sharing the recipes with us. Love and best dishes to Miss Michelle, Miss Paula, Mr Michael, Eddie and Theresa.🌞
Thanks for letting us hang out with y’all. Now I’ve got a hankerin’ for crab cakes. I’m in Kentucky so will have to visit the seafood shop. Sending love to y’all from the Bluegrass 💕
I enjoyed the crabbing vlog. I remember my Great Aunts having their homes next to each other in Elizabeth City, NC. Right on the river from the Atlantic Ocean. I learned how to crab with a chicken leg on a rope. Right off the long dock.
The ones in the air fryer looked just as delicious as.the ones cooked on the stove delicious looking either way . Thank you both for sharing your recipe
Absolutely agree with you Michelle! Less is more. I live in Maryland and am a crab cake purist! I prefer to pop them in broiler which avoids flipping and crumbling apart.
This was a sweet cooking day with your step-daughter. I loved watching the two of you. Reminds me of my wonderful daughter-in-law, Carrie cooking with me. Happy Days....
Great video!!! 🥰👍👍 I hope we get to see more of Michelle in the kitchen with Paula!! Those crab cakes look delicious and I'm swallowing hard for those turnip greens and crackling cornbread!!! 🥰❤❤
That was great paula! good to see michael and his daughter together crabbing & in the kitchen . Bring michelle back paula for more recipes in the kitchen..including michael. Fun to see You all.
Very nice video! Michelle's recipe is very simple indeed, and they looked beautiful! 🦀 I put a few more ingredients in mine, like minced celery and green onion sauteed in a little butter and a splash of white wine too. Old Bay is all you need as far as seasoning goes. Great 2 part video! Loved your colorful, floral dress Michelle! Wow. Can you imagine getting a Christmas gift🎁 from Emeril Lagasse? 🤭
You and Michelle need to do more videos together like this y'all work off each other well . thanks for the wonderful year's of great recipes. lots of love from north Augusta SC.
What a delightful video. Michelle is fabulous, what a great personality. Paula, this is my Moms recipe too, we used to have them every Christmas Eve for dinner. Maybe a video or two of ya'll in the kitchen during the holiday season. Blessings always !!
Oh Paula I so much enjoyed both of these videos! I have never had the opportunity to fish for crab but It looks like fun !!! Thanks Michelle for sharing the crab cake recipe.
Paula You need do more plan cooking like thise miss Paula... We love you . I'm nurse from Kentucky. Watch your videos all the time Love you nurse Craig cundiff Lexington Kentucky
My mouth is watering!!!!!!!!!!! Would love to try these but would have to buy the crab meat - loved watching the full episodes from catch to table and Michelle is a sweetheart for sure.
Omg, I love crab and both of these looked amazing. I grew up close to the gulf coast and crab and shrimp are my favorites. Now, though, where I live crab has gotten so expensive that a Dungeness crab at Costco is about $30, so I don't have it often. So great y'all can go crabbing and then feast like this.
I saw them crabbing but aside from how beautiful it is where you live, this labor intensive picking crabs is for y'all as it looks very labor intensive! Lol!
I am dying watching Michelle’s crab cakes cooking. I am from Maryland and she makes them as we did when Growing up. How I miss getting them cooked this way. NC just does not offer blue crabs this way….. too many fillers! Thank you Michelle.
Such a nice combo the two of you. I myself have only had crab cakes a few times. They seemed very fishy. So I am not a fan. But enjoyed watching it. Now conch fritters I remember very fondly
Michelle's crab cakes look so scrumptious. Ruby Tuesdays used to serve similar large cakes, barely any bread crumbs. I like them breaded as well but still want to taste more crab than breading.
My favorite recipe for Crab Cakes is from the recipient book from Seaboard to Sideboard. I start the frying after frying some bacon first and using a little bacon grease in as part of the binder.
Love this video crab is one of my favorites my mom used to take me every year for my birthday but never liked crab cakes couldn't taste crab I sure would love to try these
Got me wanting to make crab cakes which I have never done before but after watching Michelle I think I will try. I will make mine just like Michelle minus the onions. I make my salmon patties in the air fryer so I will probably make the crab cakes in the air fryer too. So much more healthy. So yummy. Thanks michelle, michael and paula for a delightful video. Family, that's what it's all about. Love to all.
3yrs ago went to Savanah had the crab cake an collards my mouth was in heaven. We have a restaurant at OWA in Foley AL. Haven't ben there yet..thanks for sharing best dishes...hugs
Paula you mentioned cracklin cornbread, that is my favorite. I wanted to make some yesterday but had to settle for buttermilk cornbread as the store I was in didn’t have any cracklins!
Paula, I really like Michelle!! I can imagine if you & Michael would’ve had a daughter, she would be like Michelle!! She is a beautiful woman and she is so very kind and sweet with you! That’s wonderful!! Michelle seems to be a very smart and knowledgeable young woman!! I hope she will be on more of your videos!! Thank you Paula!! I love you bunches, lady!! That was a nice Family Cooking show. I just got an Air Fryér. We love Seafood, especially Crab. I am going to make my Crab Cakes in the air fryer. Michelle's recipe sounds delicious, ty 😋😋😋👍
"You can never have enough Old Bay." That's the honest truth! I use it in so many things. My first home as a baby was a 32' sailboat. Not a lot of room for spices, so all the seasonings we had was salt, pepper, Tabasco and Old Bay.
I love you already Michelle... especially when you said you like them 'mustard greens and cornbread '! I said to myself.... I'm a black woman honey, what Michelle know about eating mustard greens and cornbread!!!!!! What!!!!! Well go ahead girl, you know about that good country eating, I love mustard and turnip greens together and cornbread, I'd like to see you cook some Michelle, along with cornbread and any other fixings you love, like some good fried fish...or fried chicken. I'll be watching, good job on the crab cakes too.
Yes ma'am! I'm from SE Tennessee and grew older eating greens, cornbread, fried fish and hush puppies or fried chicken. I know I'd be honored to eat at your table!
Wow those crab cakes are huge, I love crab cakes but in my recipe I put mustard,Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and 20 crackers , just wanted to say I didn’t make this recipe up someone else did and I’ve been making them this way for years the combination of Worcestershire sauce, the mustard and mayonnaise is delicious in crab cakes ✌️👍🇵🇷🙏🏽.
Ok, I'm gonna join in with the choir. This was a really entertaining video, and I really enjoyed it! Also looking for the cornbread dumpling recipe :) You guys are all so cute together, just cooking and chatting. It reminds me of being in the kitchen growing up, with everybody cooking and telling stories. Then, we all get to have a great meal when the "menfolk" join us at the table.
I hope you put Michelle's crab cake recipe in the description box on this video. God, you got me hungry as heck for a good crab cake. I live in Texas, about 45 miles west of Ft. Worth, Tx. and 85 miles from Dallas, Tx. My problems is finding good crab and/or any seafood around here. There was a really good seafood market in Ft. Worth for years and years, but it closed down during the Covid outbreak. It was family owned and I guess they just couldn't afford to stay open, like thousands of other businesses (especially restaurants) that closed due to lack of business. My Uncle used to come down here from a small town out of Seattle Washington about 4 - 5 times a year and he always bought us mucho grab, shrimp and everything else he could get. He put it on hot ice and we immediately started cooking them when he arrived, then froze the rest. He kept us pretty well stocked. He was a logger so he was coming here to get Mesquite and Pecan wood for restaurants up there. But he passed away about 4 years ago. I sure miss him and his "crab". That's my favorite of all. Tell Michelle this is torture for me watching her prepare all that fresh crab. All of us stay healthy and safe. Eat enough for me. Linda - from Texas.
Do y'all prefer crab cakes or deviled crab?
crab cakes Ms. Paula
Mrs. Paula take crab any way I can get it. Crab cakes are the best though.
If you are making them, either way. Otherwise, crab cakes.
Crab cakes like Michelle's for sure but the deviled crab like you made it would be a close second. Unfortunately, most restaurants only wave the crabmeat over the mixture in most seafood restaurants.
Crab cakes!! Actually I love both!! ❤️🥰🙌

Michelle is a sweetheart!
Yes, she certainly does! Delightful young lady!
Michelle has a genuine, beautiful way about her.
She does! And she looked adorable in that dress.
Paula do more shows like this…just plain cooking.
Yes! I love this episode so much💙

Michelle should be on more of your shows! Loved the process of catching.
and I loved the BAKING them, once we tried that, yum yum and did not have to fry!!
This just melts my heart. Feels like I’m hanging out with y’all. Please do more family style content like this. We all need a little more of this 🥰🥰
Just a comment from a Maryland guy. Mix all the wet ingredients together before you stir, you just want to fold the crab meat once so the meat doesn't break up.

Born in Delaware, lived in Maryland, and now live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Careful with those lumps. Also no veggies in our crab cakes.
Yes, I was wondering was happening with the lumps...especially with using a spoon to incorporate all the ingredients. Oh well!
Michelle is so pretty and has a great personality. Enjoyed these two segments very much. And I want a bite!

That was a nice Family Cooking show. I just got an Air Fryér. We love Seafood, especially Crab. I am going to make my Crab Cakes in the air fryer. Michelle's recipe sounds delicious, ty 😋😋😋👍
BLESSED family!! Thank you for inviting us into the family cooking session. 😊
Love seeing family working together preparing food for each other.
"You can never have enough Old Bay." That's the honest truth! I use it in so many things. My first home as a baby was a 32' sailboat. Not a lot of room for spices, so all the seasonings we had was salt, pepper, Tabasco and Old Bay.
I freaking LOVE Paula… and her entire family
It all looks amazing. I absolutely adore Paula Deen. Love crab cakes and deviled crab. Great pair of vids.
