I own a g80 m3 in the Isle of man green in a manual transmission. It's sick. Get one, you will understand once you put it on the track how capable these cars are. I put my whole family inside and we go for 2+ hour road trips (pregnant wife + 11 month old daughter + 25 lb dog). It's amazing and gets a lot of attention.
Yeah.. now that you say that.. I’m actually starting to like it. I was in between before. Probably looks better in person too. But I can understand why some may not.

The looks are not for me, looks are subjective fine. But as enthusiasts we have to agree that you can’t justify a curb weight of almost 4,000lbs in a “performance car”. At least the f8x aimed to weigh less than the weight of the e9x.
keep walking brolio sometimes weight is needed to put power down XD which if you've ever driven a BMW before you would know is one of the big issues of a BMW, is putting the power down correctly without its spinning its tires like a ballerina, trust me i know. tuned up e92 n54 owner here
@@kaelanburke2097 That’s why BMW needs to put actual Torsen LSD’s in their non M cars. It’s not because they’re so light that they can’t put the power down. They just need wider tires and/or better weight distribution.
@@kaelanburke2097 First of all, the most important variable when it comes to putting power and traction down. It's not weight, it's tires. Next, it's drivetrain. (Two wheel drive vs AWD) and for obvious reason AWD is superior when off the dig. It's rarely about a car with more weight puts better power down, sure you can do the math and science to argue that more weight more friction with the surface. But what is connecting your car to that surface? TIRES. So the argument of weight isn't a good enough justification for the g80. You're right, BMWs have suffered and owners complained about traction and that is why they are introducing xdrive now. Ask any track driver what's the most important in a sports car. It's lightweight. It's better on your consumables like brake rotors and pads because you don't need heavy braking before corners, therefore your corner entry and exit speeds can be a lot higher. Your car isn't dealing with massive weight transfers which is easier on suspension and bushing wear and tear. There is a far FAR longer list why a lighter car = better car for performance driving. Lastly, I'm having a hard time taking you seriously when you address people as "brolio", but thanks for your response. Yea you're right, I'll keep walking away from the g80 as I'm more than happy with my f80 from EVERY angle.
@@joooonbug yeah, G80 has got some pretty good tech, but the huge design change and weight is non-justifiable I also think the M-sport front end is waaay better looking,y neighbour bought a G80 320d fully blacked out and it looks really nice! Also if I had an F80, and I had money to pick up a G80 comfortably, I would keep my F80 😂
Said exactly what I feel about the G80/G82. I don't hate the new design, it's definitely an adjustment, but it's still actually a beautiful ass car. It still sticks with what the M3 has always been. It's still a family luxury sedan that can embarrass traditional sports/muscle cars. The difference is it's just built to battle the modern versions of those same sports & muscle cars. It's different, but as an enthusiast you can not hate this car. I just hope true real world performance is exactly what I feel like it'll be.
I know I don’t like the grill but that probably because the f80 is just so perfect in every way that I can’t see past it Chances are I might change my opinion if you tailgate me then pull far ahead the dip through traffic. That’s how I fell in love with the F80 , that squat was insane 😍
Oh wow, the wheels on these beemers look great. Fitment industries should make a video on wheel locks to make sure all the beemer dreamers can keep their wheels and tires they purchased at fitment industries safe.
The new ones are an amazing piece of car technology, but idk... That front is a face only a mother can love. If you have the money to throw away get it, if not there are many other better cars on a budget that you can build.
No doubt about it the new M cars will perform well and the "M drift control" sounds fun as heck, but for me at least the F80 series were so well designed it hurts to see the beautiful and sleek curves turned into whatever the new one is (especially the front). Will be interesting to see if in a year or two that's still the case.
Tbh, I don't see how a brand new car that isn't even out yet is listed in this series instead of a "So you want....." with a production car we already have. I think yall should come out with a new series of videos detailing your first impressions of the new generation of cars coming out, like "First impressions of 400z, first impressions of new M series, First impressions of new Civic etc."

Honestly I dont think any M3 is better looking than the E30 and E46 in my opinion. Very different I know lol. I loved the V8 when it came out too. It had a gnarly soundtrack. I just dont agree with the huge out of place looking grill on this new one. Also you explaining getting tank slapped was hilarious.

Whatever aftermarket body work company releases a redesigned, commonly accepted front bumper for the G80, while still letting the engine and radiators all that stuff breathe and ventilate properly? Big bank. Sounds like everyone is gonna want shorter front kidney vents that return it back to F80 looking cues..
Look aside, I really don’t think the near 200kg weight gain can translate to good dynamics on track. To me it seems BMW is trying to cut down the cost by not using more CFRP parts.
Is it just me who would try to put a regular 3 series front bumper (and hood) on that M3? I really really would like to have one, not that I would even be able to afford the insurance, the G80 (regular) 3 series is the most beautiful 3 series since the E46 M3. But that front end on the G80 M3 i hate it.
Imma be honest with you, The more I look at images of the new m3 the more I like them beaver teeth. It honestly looks good. My bias on BMW car maybe showing but its a look that can grow on you.
When they first released the car I didn't like it but then the more I looked at it the better it became and the interior is just amazing plus now they have all the performance parts for the car which is awesome so overall I really like the new m3 and I feel once we start seeing them on the road more people will begin to appreciate it
The M3 grille doesn't look very bad, but I'd go for the IS 500 F-Sport instead. It's so much better looking and since it's naturally aspirated, it's going to be more reliable in the long run.
The thing is the last time they made an old car reference in a new design was the E46 compact and those to this day look horrendous. So my hopes aren't very high for this car ever growing on me.

Design isn’t even the problem anymore, the real issue is the size and weight of these things. Might as well even call it the m5 short wheel base.
If you see one of these in person, you will absolutely love it. It may not be the most photogenic car but in person it is sexy!
