Really hoping to one day find "The Flood Virulence" mod campaign ported over to MCC, as it's the exact type of gameplay experience i've been wanting to have since a child, a campaign set from the perspective of the Flood as it sweeps and infests the covenant across the ring.
@@grrman the assault rifle only excels for popcorn flood and invisible elites. It's far to inaccurate for stripping shields and doesn't do enough damage to deal with grunts and jackals. It's a decent weapon against the Flood, but the pistol/shotgun combo is far superior. The only optimal time to use the assault rifle on legendary not against invisible elites/infection forms is during the short hold out section in Truth and Reconciliation in the hanger. Besides those specific scenarios, there is always a better weapon combo to go for on Legendary.
@@grrman also, Halo 3's assault rifle is great for stripping brute shields, even at long ranges as long as you use short controlled bursts. A full clip, while a bit wasteful, can even completely kill a brute minor on Legendary. It's actually excellent against Flood combat forms if you aim for the "head". Halo 3's assault rifle has far more uses/scenarios where it's a strategic choice.
@@minizimi3790 anything beyond heroic makes the Assault rifle useless in Halo 3. It doesn't do anywhere near enough. And there is no headshot bonus, so even against flood it's pretty mediocre at best. In CE it's a viable option against all enemies, bar zealots and ultras/spec ops even on legendary, though it's still a useful last ditch option. Just because it doesn't magically one shot grunts and jackals like the pistol doesn't make it useless against them. It still kills them swiftly. And you're not supposed to use it at pistol ranges, it's a complementary weapon to the pistol to be used in close range. The CE assault rifle is the most useful one in the series, and thinking otherwise most likely means one always ditched it asap on legendary without actually giving it a shot

I kinda like all these CE mods we're getting. Halo CE is my favorite game of the franchise and I'm honestly a CE purist when it comes to Halo, I feel like the other games in the franchise just departed way too far from CE in just tone, pacing, atmosphere, gameplay style, etc. Halo CE just had such a unique style to it and the way I look at some of these mods, it's like the unofficial "sequel" to CE. Like this is the kind of gameplay, weapons, world design, visual style, etc, we probably would've gotten from Bungie if Halo wasn't influenced by market pressures or by the limitations of being under Microsoft. I don't know if many other people agree with me but I feel like Halo's style kind of got quashed after CE. Like Halo CE was just this weirdly unique game in terms of style but then Halo 2 and onwards turned Halo into more of a "cash grab" shooter, like it just slowly started to have that identity of a cheap-feeling modern FPS. Just the linearity and how basic the weapon and enemy design became and the nuance in gameplay wasn't really there anymore. With all the mods, I can kinda enjoy it as like, the "Halo we've never gotten". It's cool how we're seeing fans take the reins of the franchise and everyone gets to have their own "vision" of the franchise realized, essentially
Paradise Panic looks a very weird modded mission with dinosaurs but then i realized i remember Halo Legends had dinosaurs on it from Odd One Out animated short.
I'd like to add one to the list if I may. Operation Purgepoint. (Spoilers to the campaign warning) I really don't know much about its development only that it had some inspiration from Lumoria. What I like is that the missions actually feel like halo ce missions again. Being very long and including lots of walking. I also love the story. It's amazing. While also including new kinds of enemies for both the covenant and flood that makes the player have to change their tactics. I wish I could say more but I really don't want to spoil anything else about the mod. It's my most favorite modded campaign in all of halo.
The fact they wont add Halo infinite campaign DLC is a slap in the face. The only thing "Infinite" about it is the prices and volume of the in game store.
@@grayjedi-117 heads up, there's a level about repelling an attack on the base, skip that one, it sucks The rest of the campaign is beautiful, but yes, it's wild, with some enemies on heroic that are equally tough as Elites from Halo 2 on legendary

You really think so? I would consider the CE incarnation the best and most useful AR version across all titles, even on legendary.
