      Cesar, you can’t just change a few weapons or a few stats and call that a rebalancing mod... you do know that if you’re making something like this, the bigger a change is, the more you have to change surrounding aspects to balance it out, right?

      @@davidcortez7318 Well when you adjust a few weapons or a few stats your effectively affecting the established balance of the game sandbox, so your "re-balancing" hence, calling it a Re-Balancing mod. So regardless of whether or not the changes are good or not, changing the balance like this is by all definitions a re-balancing mod.

    With the Scorpion's accuracy buffed, I'd suggest maybe change it's reticule crosshair too. No more of that big, rectangular box!

    12:35 There's a glitch you can use here. In the previous area, grab the camo, leave one elite alive in the narrow passage, and run straight to the lift. Cortana will call in more marines as if your previous fireteam was wiped out. Snipe the Shade gunners, go clear the narrow passage, and you have 10+ marines for the gravity lift fight.

    I always thought it would be neat if when you melee'd with an overheating weapon it did a bit of extra damage from the venting plasma.

    The AR in CE is such a weird dichotomy.
    I've never met anyone who outright hates it, because I mean how could you? It's basically a bullethose with which you can rush B cyka blyat. It's just soooo satisfying in its very limited useful range (which is like... 10-20 meters).
    That said, its called assault RIFLE, so why it has the accuracy and range of a Musket in the year 2500 or whatever was always baffling to me. Especially given that the AI marines still to try use it as though it is a rifle (ie: very short bursts). I always want to use the AR, but it is so, so limited in Vanilla to a few specific roles; it doesn't behave like the jack of all trades it should have been.
    Therefore, I'll probably give your mod a shot. Sounds good to me.

      I found it more useful for killing banshees actually. Burst firing it is somewhat effective and allows you to conserve magnum ammo on legendary. I found myself favouring it once I had killed all major targets like elites or hunters with the magnum and took out the grunts and jackels with it by burst in 5-10 round bursts.

    I just downloaded this. It's awesome. My favorite thing about it is that the assault rifle no longer sucks. It is now a completely viable weapon for medium range combat.
    I no longer feel restricted to the noob combo because of how useful every gun feels now.
    Fully recommend this mod!

      First five levels: Pistol and assault rifle/plasma rifle/sniper rifle/rocket launcher
      343 guilty spark and the library: shotgun and assault rifle
      last 3 levels: pistol and shotgun

      I mean yeah if you're half decent at the game you can get along just fine with it. But anything else is just more effective.

      Sukhdeep Multani plasma pistol + magnum. Break shield with plasma charge and then get a one shot head shot with magnum.

    Though I can't help but feel like this is changed to favor the player's life expectancy and convenience, as opposed to compelling game play.

      Lo - Rez it’s kind of supposed to make it fun. I might just be bad at strafing but halo ce on legendary the elites are way too acurrate and they spawn in groups of 2-3

    Dude, you shouldn't have made the sniper rifle useless against hunter armor. The sniper rifle is classified as an anti-materiel rifle. That means it should shoot through hunter armor.

      Imagine you playing on Legendary, the hardest difficulty of the game, a real challenge, and you encounter a Hunter that is more like a mini boss, so it's hard
      And with a sniper rifle you kill him in one shot...

      @@Leo.Dalarosa Well then, I hope you like it playing on his legendary while a sniper rifle can't pierce hunter armor. It wouldn't make sense for it to NOT pierce Hunter armor because it's an anti-materiel rifle which should destroy vehicles, and it would be even more difficult to kill them. A Wraith can be taken out with a sniper rifle, which Wraiths have considerably more armor than a Hunter, yet a Hunter can't be killed by a sniper rifle shot in the chest.

    I love this mod. The more competent friendly AI and accurized weapons have made vanilla Halo borderline unplayable by comparison. I was just driving a Scorpion in Halo MCC unmodded and was baffled by it's coax machine gun that is seemingly hanging from a bungee cord.
    I've played and thoroughly enjoyed CE and Halo 2 with Ruby's mods, and I'm really looking forward to the Halo 3 version being fixed.

    Halo mod tools for MCC are out, but it'll still be a little bit before I get around to remaking and updating this mod! I want to complete my current project of a big video brainstorming ideas for a Sonic Adventure remake. Then, I want to remake and update CE Rebalanced using its new tools.       Hey dude I have a question: Can you make a mod where the damage be accurate to the lore of the game?, u know, the grunts and jackals dies with 2 or 3 bullets, but the plasma weapons can kill anything with 2 or 3 shots (without energy shields obiously), the needle instakill, etc, the chief can fall from meters of distance without suffer damage and he's incredible fast meanwhile the rest of enemies moves slow, is possible that you can make a mod of that?, because I'd like to play like that way

      No bs. Having played through Halo infinite twice on Normal and Heroic difficulty now. It’s honestly made me more excited for your updates to the Halo ce and Halo 3 rebalance for MCC. I hope those projects go well for you. Unfortunately Infinite didn’t fully satisfy my needs for a new Halo experience.

      Hey, Ruby, I know this might be a dumb question to post here, but you know more about the modding scene than I do. I've been playing CE Refined for a while and the thing that annoys me the most is the text for tutorial screens and button prompts being misaligned. I'm not sure if it's a bug/glitch, or if the Refined team cocked something up. Either way, do you have any insights into this, or any thoughts on what I could do to fix it?

    this mod is a masterpiece and I will say that this is my definitive way of playing Halo CE from now on. it's absolutely amazing and it really feels like you tapped into bungies soul and brought forth all they wished to include and manifest in CE. It's absolutely amazing, loved every second playing it. You elevated this game to a another level, rarely do I say this for mods (the only other belonging to the STALKER community).

    with the increased jump height you can get on top of the map in the silent cartographer (without sputnik). not much to do there, but its cool being on top of the island cause you can skip the 2 hunters and some more enemies on your way to the control room security as well as being able to get to the top of all the structures and sus

    Glad I found this wonderful mod. Barely scratching the surface yet, but the longer combat distances, where you can't simply outrange the enemy with the pistol and where the enemy is more aware of and willing to try to kill you, is amazing.
    A few things so far: while it does make the Needler more of a threat, I think the tracking range is a bit extreme, especially since it happens before red reticle distance. The Covenant being able to pepper areas with non-tracking needles from a greater range would be enough of a trade off, as long as they're able to still do that.
    The UNSC spawns at the evac encounters on Halo should be lowered to be no more than the max capacity of the Pelican (or even better, no more than the capacity of the lifeboats in the area minus pre-arrival casualties, as long as it doesn't exceed Pelican capacity) would be better, since it would leave less of them sadly standing around afterwards. Would it also be possible to attach your Warthog to the Pelican in the end cutscene? Always was weird it got left behind.
    Adding and enhancing encounters in general would be a huge improvement to the game, from more Covenant packing dropships and new encounters in empty areas, with more enemy types, vehicles, and weapons spread around to all of them (Jackals on the Autumn!).

      7 months late, but the Needler's tracking already outranged red reticle distance on Vanilla CE. Always used it to kill that Bastard Elite on the loading dock when you first enter the Hangar in T&R.

      Same, I don’t like how much it’s been changed over the years, it was perfect from the start. Everybody jokes about how it’s overpowered, but it’s really not. It’s accuracy isn’t great for longer range, so a battle rifle or a DMR would make up for that. The damage is perfect, you can easily take down any enemy if you know what you’re doing, but if you aren’t great at lining up headshots it can be much less effective, but still viable, and the scope can help line shots up. The visual design is great, and I’d love to see it tweaked to look slightly more like the 5 magnum but still look like the classic.
      When 343 adds the magnum into Infinite, I seriously hope they make it more like CE’s due to the sidekick taking the role it had previously. I’m upset that it may not make it into launch, but I hope they squeeze it in with the classic shotgun.

      @@TheWither129 Considering the weapon sandbox is supposed to be balanced and each weapon is supposed to have a unique utility, having one weapon outclass practically everything at all ranges and in most situations is objectively terrible design. Yes, the CE magnum is overpowered, since you're only handicapping yourself by using literally anything else. It should be just as useful as every other weapon but it isn't. Same goes for the shotgun against the flood, despite how satisfying it can be.

      I agree a sandbox should be consistent. Not just for the sake of realism but to make the game feel more consistent and things to act as expected, like how you can destroy your own equipment in halo 3

    Honestly the change of AR Flood damage makes the AR almost canonically accurate, which is always nice.

    The new AR, my goooooood its beautiful. I always noticed that the hidden spread was always bigger than the physical reticle, and i as looking for a mod to solve this, but this mod solved problems i didnt even noticed. Its amazing, and with the Refined maps being the base, it makes it look and feel nice

    You should add the flood infection scripts as seen on Voxophonics ''The Flood: Forgotten Exile'' campaign mod.

      There’s also Flood infection in SPV3 as well, though unlike Halo 3 the models are swapped with no animation. You can practically hear the cartoonish pop.

    Did you try changing any checkpoints? I distinctly remember The Act Man brushing that off in his video on CE right before testing it myself. Truth And Reconciliation could really use at least one checkpoint between arriving at and going up the lift.

    I’ve been playing CE on the MCC, and there is one change that I would have liked to see, though I’ve only played through the game twice. And that is the rocket launcher flood.
    I found them to be quite frustrating since it can be impossible to tell what weapon they are carrying until you are too close to avoid it. Also, I am not certain that they will fire at any other target than the player. I don’t know what changes would keep the game balanced, but I would consider removing their ability to shoot at the player and just keep them as a melee attacker, and well as having them fire at the covenant or the player in a vehicle (though I don’t know if the two ever meet like that).
    Since you didn’t mention it, I am guessing that they are not considered a problem on higher difficulties or good players have their positions memorized, but I wanted to point it out as they frustrated me quite a bit.

    bro you don't know how happy I am playing this mod, better ar, more useful marines, better AI, this mod has everything! the spv3 mod i think it's not that cool because it throws away the feeling of halo ce, and this one don't, this one is SO much better.

    Hey, just found your channel via your SA2 videos, only to see you do Halo mods, too! I'll be sure to try this out, but just from watching the video, I figured i';d give some input/feedback.
    - Very happy to hear about the AR accuracy buff, but given how wide the reticule is, it might be hard to even visualize where the exact center of the reticule is (I have this issue with a lot of weapons in CE, actually), so if possible, giving it an expanding reticule to visualize the actual spread would be cool. In general I think this should be a universal change to any weapon that has spread go up as you fire it.
    - This might require more balance changes , but i'd place the shotgun, sniper rifle, and rocket launcher in more maps in more spots, alongside hunters and sentienals in more locations, perhaps even before Guilty Spark shows up, or qalso making the fuel rod usable in campaign and adding in the flamethrower. CE's biggest flaw, and what makes it my least favorite Bungie Halo campaign, is the low amount of variety it has, both in terms of weapons, enemies, and environments; and while obviously envoirmental changes are probably outside the scope of the mod, having a wider amount of the weapon sandbox and enemy types in more maps would help this a lot.
    - Secondly, I forget if CE has individual needle explosions even when there's no supercombines do damage like in 2, but rather then emphasizing the damage the initial hits do, i'd emphazie the damage from those indivual small explosions. This is certainly more of a subjective thing then the AR reticule one, but I think it'd make it more interesting to have the guy be designed around that sort of "delayed damage" and making it so it's not a binary of "if you didn't get a supercombine, then it didn't do anything". This might make the weapon too powerful, though, so supercombines might need to be nerfed or outright removed, with the total damage from the delayed explosions of the same amount of needles of a supercombined adding up to enemies dying anyways.
    - I'm not sure how I feel about making the Hunter armor impervious to bullet damage, or reducing player health, but I'll see how it plays regardless. Off the cuff without having tried the mod yet, I'd just reduce, not totally get rid of bullet damage on hunter armor, and not do the health nerf at all.
    Lastly, where'd you learn Halo modding? I'd love to get into it myself!

    Are you able to save your marine buddies on 343 Guilty Spark when they get jumped by Infection forms? I remember them being unable to be saved once they are caught by one and any damage attempted on the infection form will only damage the marine.

    You could add a spalling effect on the hunter armor with the sniper rifles, taking 4 shots to kill them when you pierce their armor but reducing the damage of the rifle by a great margin when it hits flesh, taking 8 shots to kill them. The sniper fires depleted uranium APFSDS rounds which in real life over-penetrate soft targets but when they hit armor they have huge penetration and shatter in many glass like sharp pieces which cut through everything inside a vehicle and they also have a pyrophoric effect, igniting everything in their way. Hunters just like the flood lack a central nervous system, they are a bunch of worms, they need to take a lot of hits before they can die and the best way to kill something like that is by burning, using explosives or high fire rate and high stopping power weapons (shotguns, hollow point bullets, machine guns). Make point blank shotguns, plasma grenades and needler super combinations deal a lot of damage to their exposed flesh.
    One thing about shotguns is that they are terrible against body armor. Turn them into flood specialized weapons, retaining all their damage against them while at the same time dealing 1/4 damage to all other enemies and 1/8 damage against the player since spartan armor has no gaps, but don't remove their damage against shields, make them the only anti shield projectile weapons and add them headshot damage in order to make them effective against the covenant but more tricky shots. Since covenant helmets are somewhat exposed I think shotgun blasts should be effective against their heads. It would make sense that shotguns would be effective against energy shields because in theory all those smaller pellets could overload shielding systems.
    Also reduce the damage of projectile weapons and and all human explosive splash damage against the player health by a third since MJOLNIR armor should be really effective against projectiles, explosives and fragmentation because it is very bulky and made specifically for fighting insurgents. Plasma weapons in lore are the thing which can really melt human armor. Plasma grenades melt armor and should keep their stats and direct rocket hits should always do instant kills.
    Increase player health by a bit instead of decreasing because MJOLNIR armor is very bulky and protective and Spartans should be very though.
    Add a 2x scope to the AR just like the pistol, and make them pistol like accurate with the first shots but make them lose their grouping with recoil, just like rifles are in real life. You could use them like the BR using short bursts. I don't know if the game engine allows it but add headshot bonus damage against enemies with the AR, just like in Halo 5.
    You could also make rockets home their targets when you hold the trigger after you hear a ping and release, just like the plasma pistol and add 8x zoom to them.

    Might I suggest you make the sniper do damage to hunter's armor like the warthog turret does?
    The sniper fires larger caliber bullets than the warthog's cannon so realistically it would penetrate as well.

      I mean it's not just a realism consideration, it is also a gameplay one. That way you aren't wasting your sniper rounds if hunter moves and you hit his armor instead of his worm zone.
      You could probably still have reduced damage from hitting the armor, but actually still doing some damage.

      Yeah, you can kill him in Halo only to see him in Assault on the Control Room... and then kill him again. And then watch him escorting Keyes through the forerunner lab in 343 Guilty Spark.
      It makes zero sense.

    I love the rebalance on hunters especially because not only does it feel better but it also kind of makes sense. For example, the warthog turret doing full damage against their armor.... This is so fighting them on the road doesn't feel shitty but it also doesn't have to just be thought of as magic. I for one feel like it's implying the turret simply penetrates armor better, probably because it was designed to do exactly that. Armor-piercing rounds baby!
    And plasma weapons doing damage against their armor also feels like it makes sense for both balance and lore, because it feels like it's implying that the heat of the plasma is slowly cooking them behind the shell.

      No, it definitely shouldn't be. But I do wish the game let you use minor balance tweak mods like this and still get achievements, ESPECIALLY with the Halo Reach and Halo 2 rebalancing mods. They make the games just as challenging while making it more fun than the original so you should be able to use these mods and still get achievements.

    I do not know if this is true but I remember Bungie saying that they were lazy and didn't have enough time to program enough Marine characters. Apparently, some of the Sgt. Johnsons you see are not Sgt. Johnson himself but are supposed to be a random black marine with the equal rank of Sgt. The lore apparently goes like this: Pillar of Autumn, you do not encounter Johnson. Halo, you encounter Johnson at the first life boat. Truth and Reconciliation, you hear Johnson in the beginning but he stays on the Pelican "in lore". The Silent Cartographer and Assault on Control Room, you do not encounter Johnson as he is present with Keyes. 343 Guilty Spark, the final time you see Johnson when you meet up with the surviving Marines. Again. I'm not sure if this is correct but I remember reading this sometime ago.

    I absolutely fuckin hate the in lore reason for the sniper being useless against the flood. It makes no sense. Half the damage of being hit with a bullet is hydrostatic shock, and the flood is basically just jelly on the inside. The 14.5x114 round TODAY gibs people. I can’t imagine what it would do 500 years in the future. Flood forms should burst apart like sacks of rotten cottage cheese when hit with the Sniper rifle. Even hyper velocity APFSDST still impacts MASSIVE energy on impact. The cavitation bubble of the round flying thru a flood form would be like the size off a beach ball.

    I dont really think that the grunt needler fire rate should have been buffed that much because i always saw the elites to be the dangerous ones when they weild the needler. I saw the grunts as the ones that just didnt use it to its full potential.

    originally i had jumped straight from ce to 3 and i had seen videos so i knew there were hunters. i kept my pistol to shoot them. i align myself dodge a hit and bang....... hes still alive ok 2 hunters and no power weapons thats amazing

    I need to get this game on PC again.
    Because damn, this is the definitive Halo game, I never cared for where the franchise went after.
    It must be said that the pistol was dang overpowered in this game, even in single player, you can just absolutely shred everything on Legendary.

    i know its not really what you've been aiming to do here and im not sure if its in your ability to mod but id love to see a mod where you play as a simple marine. or maybe each level has a squad of marines (squad size depending on difficulty of the mission etc) and when the one your playing as inevitably dies you switch perspective to the nearest surviving marine so as the squad acts as a sort of health pool. iv always loved the poor bloody infantry and would adore a halo game seen through the eyes of the regulars instead of the paragon of technological masculinity that is the chief

    I think the sniper should be able to damage the Hunters, it is armor piercing and has a bigger round than the Warthog's machine gun.

    I disagree with making the Hunters more vulnerable to plasma grenades. That was always a way to just ignore a Hunter encounter in any Halo game, especially CE that gives you so many grenades. I would change them so they have more utility, maybe they stun-lock hunters for longer or push them back or something.

    I downloaded this mod and I think it is pretty great that keeping your marines alive isnt like babysitting the only downside that I noticed on Truth and reconciliation There were a couple of grunts by the cliff and I am walking up a cliff suddenly I hear "FRAG OUT!!!" The Master of Disasters last words were "AW SHIT" and then he was blown off a cliff by "friendly" aggressive AI. it would be nice if you could give your AI better judgement.

    Probably my least favourite of the Halo games. Currently playing them again through on Legendary in the MCC and after coming from Reach to this its a rude shock. Some levels I just got stuck on because at one point of another I didn't do something optional and because I was on legendary the situation I was in with weapons at the time made the checkpoint unbeatable essentially.
    Can't wait to get past Halo 1 and 2 and onto ODST and 3. ODST is my favourite game, then Reach, then 3 so I look forward to playing those on legendary. 1 and 2 just don't seem fair to me. Seriously a few levels took me about 4 hours a piece to beat.

      Halo 2 Definitely isn't fair, but CE is literally the fairest and balanced of the series. All attacks are telegraphed (except for the damn rocket launcher flood) and avoidable. No single NPC can instakill you (except for the damn rocket launcher flood), weapons were just as effective in your hands as it was in the enemies (except for the Needler because the AI can't supercombine) so it felt like you were fighting an equal (aka the elites) but their attacks were still avoidable, and you had a buffer zone before you could die in the form of the health bar.
      TL:DR - Halo 1 is objectively the most fair of the series. See the Act Man's video on it if you want further elaboration
