I believe the 1st one made is still out on its' 0-60 test. Thank you, you've been a great crowd! Seriously, I think that's the car to take for a really leisurely walk around the block.
I have a sliding window Isetta and live in a tropical climate and it's an oven on hot days. I found out that installing UV-blocking window tint really helps. My window tint is nearly clear, almost unnoticeable but blocks 70% of UV light. Makes it much more driveable on hot days.
Another fascinating insight into your special world of micro-cars, two strokes, German and classic American cars. When I get a notification of a new video from you I’m always straight into it!
I got to drive one of these (not the Z trim version) last year. Once you got used to the reverse shift gate pattern and the pedals, it became a pisser to drive, and looks from other drivers were priceless ! ! !
Due to german accident limits, every ! Isetta had the folding roof for getting out in case of an accident. So the folding roof was not luxury, it was a must .
Thanks for another great video! The Dynastart problem sounds exactly like what Bill Rogers and John Wetzel described...incorrect Dynastart brushes. Bill Rogers researched the problem and found a company that makes brushes that deliver the right amount of oomph to start an Isetta reliably. I bought a set of Bill's brushes for my Isetta ($48 for a set of 4 brushes). The grabby clutch is likely because the original friction plate has been changed to a commonly available motorcycle part. The original plates were made from spring steel and have smoother clutching than the motorcycle plates. Gosbert in Germany sells new spring steel clutch plates. I've learned a lot from the Isetta gurus who have seen it all.
Takes me back a few years. My first car was an old sliding window Isetta in a similar orange colour and the bent scaffold poles on the front. That poor thing went on a few adventures and suffered a few indignities :)
I used to drive a '58 SW to work, went to Costco once. Fun cars to drive until front end starts wobbling! Got to make sure your steering damper is installed.
The hard start problem could be (if it's OHV) a compression release problem. If the rocker arm clearance is too loose, it won't let the compression release work properly and cause an intermittent compression lock issue. The first U.S. made Briggs & Stratton OHVs were bad about the rocker adjusters backing off and doing the same thing.
Isetta was bavarian but needed an only motorcycle license needed s driver so a pre car nsu dkw loyd messersmit are after war cars love them simple but elegance
LOL! I just realized this is the same car that Cousin Itt drove to the party in the 1991 Addams Family movie.😉 *EDIT:* Oops! Wait.. that was a Messerschmitt.😜
Nice car, being an avid DKW fan you should check out the website www.carsales.com.au there is a listing for a 1956 DKW Schnellaster van the detail 8n the photos are good but the price will make the eyes water..

You walk it ....like a dog.
My bubble window Isetta (1956) does the stated maximum of 52mph, first check the wind and inclination though😁

That is the *TINIEST* twin exhausts that I've ever seen

A BMW that isn’t a latop on finance! Lovely cars. Great video
A lot of the European isettas are predominantly 3 wheelers, but I believe the American imports had to be 4 wheelers for safety
the european had 4 wheels !!
beautiful little car!
I love the cigarettes in the ash tray as decoration, that's so cool.
Real easy to smokebox that car, would be horrible lol.
When can we see some work on HMV Freeway?

The DKW has a small bubble in the right front tire where the white wall and vulcanized rubber meet (in the video at the "bottom" of the tire).
Thankyou, always wondered about these.
Sweet little car.
The CRX is for sale! Good to see. I hope it finds a good home

This engine is outfitted with a high compression piston However the dynastartr is designed to work with this set up
Better than Showroom condition!
Checking voltage drop down the starter wire shouldn't be too tough!
That Farm Ford is still at your shop??
Gee, I wonder how the clutch is.
Amigo de joven tuve taller de BMW.300,600,700.NSU.prince.Isard.300.700.Heinkel.Auto Unión.etc.saludos.

I'm always hoping for a road drive. The runs through the alley way are a disappointment.
Looks like a death trap to me .

They're not in my taste. I do love BMW.
