    Great explanation, writing this 2yrs later and it still holds true. Settings and everything are identical to the current version of Blender. Thank you so much!

    you're the best!!! I just got a 3d printer and spent an hour reading through complicated tutorials online on how to emboss text in an stl object, and you explained it so easily and without any extra useless info. Thanks so much, I'm going to be watching all your videos from now on :)

    when i get to the point to extrude the text, I hit E then 1 and enter but the words go above the original location but its not shaded in like in your video, 9:23 on your video, please help.

    • @BlenderSavage
      @BlenderSavage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not shaded in? I am going to assume you may be in the Wireframe viewport shader. Hit shift+Z to return to the solid viewport shader.

    hi thanks for tutorial, i had a question, i follow all steps but when i click make manifold it deletes part of my text, parts go missing

      Hello Johnny, this is usually because of issues with the topology. Make sure to follow steps of cleaning up the mesh on the stand before adding the text. Then make sure to also follow the steps on cleaning up the text. Make sure the text is not positioned over existing edges on the stand.
      After applying the Boolean modifiers and joining the mesh you can take it extra step further by taking it into Edit Mode (Tab Key). Then hit A to Select All. In the top-right of the 3D Viewport choose Mesh>Clean up>Merge by Distance. Then go back to Mesh>Clean up again and try Delete Loose. Let me know if that works.
