Very nice… as someone who is trying to get into multitools, your channel has been very helpful.. I’m not very picky about multitools, so Roxon seems like my best bet since I’m a little on the budget side.. Keep it up 👍
@@hvacbudget8600 good point, hahaha.. going to binge watch more of your videos(especially about Roxon) so i can find a gift for my folks.. thanks again
Nextool’s Flagship Pro has is a much lighter version of this with a pocket clip. It has the big scissors, sheepsfoot blade and saw. Although the secondary tools aren’t quite as good (and no bit clip).
@@yooyist The Nextool version is much smaller, the weight is closer to a Victorinox Spirit (but different shape). But for a tool-kit size tool, I’d personally go with a surge clone (for the file).
I’d kind of like to see them do something a bit more with that corkscrew. Seems like a huge amount of wasted space for something that likely won’t be used that often unless you drink wine like every night and are never near a dedicated corkscrew. While it does have a nice bit adapter I’d kind of like to see it have something like a bit holder there and maybe just make the corkscrew with a 1/4 inch bit on the end so if you want the corkscrew it’s there but if you don’t use it often you can just take it off and use regular bits with it.
I love the tool set on this one 😊. At least for the most part. I love the fact it have. Pliers Big scissors Bit driver As a part of its base. The knife is good but somewhat small The saw is good and cuts well. The file isn't bad but it's somewhat short. The bottle opener and the corkscrew are nicely implemented. I mean the opener serves as a lever. What I don't like is the 3 mini tools and the breaker. But I'm explaining why The can opener is terrible The Awl isn't great and the seat belt cutter is mostly used to strip wires Also most importantly they are hard to deploy. Then the glass breaker, it seems to work however I think this is wasted space here. So what would I do with this multitool if I wanted to improve it ? Well there are things who are average that might gain something and others that won't be touched. So I would get rid of the three mini tools and put something else Mini electrician blade and a pry tool that takes 2 slots. The bottle cap lifter will be more combo because it will be made to open cans as well and mini wrench with more metal Mini wrench from 5.5, 6, 7, and 8 Then the glass breaker will change to be a tiny hammer. I won't pretent this is perfect but for me it would be better than a leatherman or a gerber.
I still hope they will issue an Elite version with a slighter better steel and a bit holder, something that Roxon doesn't appear to be a big fan of. But in this one there is enough room I think and that would be a nice addition... I don't care for the corkscrew neither, I am wine enthusiast but I can't think of any situation I would bring a bottle of wine with a cork and this tool. Anyway, I still prefer this platform to their more innovative tools like the Phantom or the forthcoming Flash.
I loved my roxon storm. I carried mine at work every day for around 6 months plus (im a builder), until it was almost completely worn out. I used it to death.
Remove the stupid glass breaker and corkscrew and put a locking bit driver instead there. And maybe a second bit under the bottle opener which is secured by it. Then this tool would be a little more interesting.
I found mine on sale. I leaped before I knew everything. Since you are in contact with Roxon, please pass on this feedback. I love the innovative design. I bought it for the pliers and scissors. The price is good for what you get. Where I think you missed the boat and why I can't recommend it. 1. Everything is riveted. This is so disappointing. 1.1. I get my tool so dirty I have to take them apart and give them a deep cleaning once a year if not once a quarter. 1.2. I would probably take it apart and run a diamond file over one of the tools. I can't open the tool without using a tool. I mean it doesn't need much, but just moving that edge back 0.001mm would mean not needing a tool to open that tool. 1.3. Replaceable wire cutters which are not replaceable. For me, not a big deal, but I know others who kill a set every year. 2. You have a cork screw (which most Americans will not use) and it isn't Victorianox compatible for their little screwdrivers. Heck, sent your own. I bought this multitool so I could put a glasses fixing screwdriver in there. 3. The scissors need to be flipped to allow them to be opened quickly without opening the pliers. And they are great scissors, but if I use them for 6 months, they will be dull and there is no way to take them apart, clean and sharpen. 4. Tanto blades are nice and stabby, but it is a multitool, it needs a drop point. 5. The file has two more edges which could be made into a nice mettle saw or ...depth gauge. And at the same time 1. The knife is sharp. Maybe the sharpest right out of the box. Definitely on par with Victorianox. 2. The saw is correct. It is thinner at the top. 3. You took the extra effort of milling the knife and saw to better lock. 4. This is either CNC milled or skilled labor. This appears to be a high-quality multitool with good QC/QA and it is robust for the steel.
This multitool is rubbish. I got it yesterday and the bottle opener mechanism does not work. please check before you review things and say how wonderful they are.
As a corkscrew collector i think it’s quite interesting
Might pick one up. Great tools

@@FreedomFox1Good to know, I pictured it the same size as the Roxon !
@@yooyist take the black knight however the file isn't great and the tool is more fragile

do you think the extra 10 bucks makes the phantom better? or is it just the minmal pref of tools?
I feel like the Phantom has much better quality in the tool set personally. It seems better made. Also more useable.
Mr. Kincaid, how does that Flex sample live up to your expectations so far?
Very well! I've been carrying it a lot and it's really good!
Reminds me of the DAIcamping dl5, but I think the dl5 has a better tool set and every tool locks
Most of the important tools lock here.
Saw, knife and philips. The only tool that can be problematic is file, it's small and non locking.
Could do with something other than a corkscrew
It is unfortunately common for people to like corkscrews in multitool videos, so with the demand, they remain oddly common.
Needing to use your nails to open the tools is a no for me.

I have no idea how you compare this to a Leatherman. It has scissors that are incomparable to any Leatherman.. not to mention the glass breaker.
